Thank you!  This was very helpful.

  2. For those that have already gotten married, I have a question about the music during the cocktail hour.  We're having our cocktail hour at the mix bar and I really don't want to have to create a playlist and worry about music.  If we do nothing, will there be some kind of radio or satellite radio that will play?  I just want there to be some music.  If there's nothing, I will create a playlist.

    Hi Ladies,

It's me again. So I was looking over the different packages and we were thinking of going with the Devine package and substituting the things we don't want or need. Based on reviews I saw a lot of brides do this and it didn't seem to be a problem, however I know things can change. My question is for those who have used the Devine Package it says it comes with a silver menu cocktail hour and dinner reception AND a platinum menu cocktail hour and dinner reception. Is this correct? This is really important to me because I really want to do a welcome party for my guest and was planning on using the cocktail hour/reception for the welcome party. Can any of you wonderful ladies who have had your weddings here already or planning to answer this question.

    Many thanks!

    Brenda

    Hi Kaiden1215,

I am getting married Sept. 2013 and using the Divine package.  You will get one reception and one cocktail hour for up to 25 guests.  With the Divine, you have the option to choose from either the silver or platinum menus, but it does not come with two cocktail hours.  I believe you do have the option of using your cocktail hour as a 'welcome party'. Does this help?

  4. I'd like to ship a box ahead of time to the resort and I just want to verify what address to use.  This is what I found on the Now Jade website as the hotel's address:

    Unidad 26 Mz. 20 Lote 1-1 SM.3

    Puerto Morelos Benito Juárez

    Quintana Roo, MÉXICO 77580

Is this address correct?  Did you put this to Pilar's attention?  Any other shipping advice anyone has would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Just a chance for everyone to get to meet each other before the wedding. We put this in our brochure, something along the lines of "After dinner, join us in the lobby bar for some cocktails and to mingle and get to know each other." Something like that.. I wanted to be sure to put the "after dinner" line so people knew there would be no food. We also took this opportunity to hand out our welcome bags.

I didn't have any activities organized for our guest. Everyone did their own thing during the day. A bunch of us were at the pool often and did do Zumba and water arobeics, wine tasting too. All the activities are listed in the Sun Dial they give you daily. They always have something going on at the pool. Water polo, water balloon fights, beach volleyball, pool volleyball. There's always something!

How were you both able to put together a program/brochure for guests when so many of  the details are unknown until you get down there (i.e. exact meeting times/locations)?  I'd love to do something like this, but not sure how or what to include.  Can I trouble you for a picture of your program?  Thanks!

    Hey ladies!

It's been a while since my last post but I was wondering where everyone was going for their honeymoon after now jade if they were planning on it? My FI and I definitely want to move to another resort to honeymoon alone for a few days but not sure where to go. Anyone have any god spots to honeymoon at?

    Thanks!

We are spending a few days at The Royal in Cancun.  I've never been, but it looks great on Trip Advisor and it was highly recommended by our TA.  Here's the link on Trip Advsior: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g150807-d642781-Reviews-The_Royal-Cancun_Yucatan_Peninsula.html

Another hotel our travel agent recommended was Le Blanc also in Cancun but this was quite a bit more expensive than The Royal.  Let us know what you decide!

  7. Hi September Bride!!!  I am one too - getting married on 9/7 which is 3.5 mos away!!!  I have not booked my hair/makeup/spa yet but thanks for the reminder!  I have been pretty on track with things I can be, but maybe I am being a little chill too.   I have tried to contact Pilar, but she does not contact me back.  My fiance finally just sent a request through the concierge and received a quicker response from another coordinator.  Maybe try that or set up a call.  I keep reading that everything will be fine when we get there though. I think the light month is due to hurricane season.  The last hurricane was in 2005 so hopefully (fingers crossed) the weather will be perfect.... Honestly, we went to Puerto Vallarta in October a few years ago.  A hurricane passed through but did not hit land.  The Dreams resort was very prepared and we even saw weddings go on a few days later.  Hopefully everything will be okay.  Let's just say it will.  ;) What time did you decide to get married at?
Great to hear from you!! I may try the concierge desk too, that's great info. I'm not too worried about the weather, there's nothing we can do about it know anyways except keep our fingers crossed. My FI and I went to Now Jade back in Sept. 2012 and the weather was also perfect. We thought the resort was perfect and had no complaints at all. Here's some weather websites to monitor, but don't freak yourself out! http://www.noaanews.noaa.gov/stories2013/20130523_hurricaneoutlook_atlantic.html http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/
  8. You can def book your hair and makeup now, so it's out of the way. I booked mine 1 month away only. As you for the DJ< don't worry..they will have one for you . They will send you a form when time comes so you can tell them what songs you want to play etc.
Thanks, that makes me feel better regarding the DJ. I was worried that she wouldn't respond to my emails and we'd get down there and find that the DJ isn't available!
  9. Pilar & Freddy at the spa told me one month prior. I made mine around the 15th of May for my June 14th wedding. I'm sure 45 days wouldn't hurt. Below is my correspondence with Pilar: -When do I need to schedule hair/make up for me and my sister? 1 MOTH BEFORE TO THE CEREMONY THE CONTACT IS FREDY LUGO HIS EMAIL ADDRESS IS [email protected] -When do I need to schedule our couples massage included in package for my fiancé and I? YOU CAN SCHEDULE WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE RESORT. The wedding planning form is to be submitted 45 days ahead--maybe that's what you read? However, I've submitted mine and still haven't heard back from them & I'm just 3 weeks out.... Which is fine, thankfully I'm completely laid back & we'll just figure everything out when we arrive.
Thanks! This is very helpful. Thanks for the email address too.
  10. Hi, I've been reading this thread for some time, but don't usually post. I'm getting married on 09/21/13 which is just 4 mo. away! I feel organized until I read what everyone else is doing on this thread! Do I need to book hair/makeup/spa 4 months out or am I ok to wait a month or so? Also, I've emailed pilar 3 times to ask to reserve the DJ... I guess a call is in order? PS - any other sept 2013 brides out there? Are they 'light' that month due to heat? Or hurricane season?

No actually, but it's okay because Deisy finally sent it to me today!  (I think she sent it by accident because she was originally just sending me links to the wedding planning guide on the website)

It's a 25-page PDF titled "Now Jade 2012-2013 Wedding Information" and it extensively details out every possible charge (like TTD session, flower cost, levels of videography packages), all the different menu options (including vegetarian and "romantic dinner" menus), and requirements for having either a symbolic or traditional wedding.  You're supposed to be using it to fill out the "Wedding Planning Form".  If anyone needs it, I can send it along to you!

Hi, I asked yesterday, but I don't see my post showing up in the thread so I'm not sure it went through...

Will you send this to me also?  My e-mail is [email protected].   Thank You!
