Hello Beautiful Brides! My name is Eveline and I'm so happy to have found this wonderful site. I'm newly engaged this past July and have not set the date yet. We have narrowed it down to 2015. And we are definitely going to Punta Cana because we have fallen in love with their resorts. We are trying to do research on which resort. Personally I love the Paradisus Palma Real. Now I have to get hubby on board. He hasn't been there yet. I am feeling a little overwhelmed because i have helped planned two destination weddings but I feel like i am drawing a blank for my own. Its all about the details! I'm so excited! I hope to get some guidance and well...have fun in the process
Congrats Eveline!! My dream resort was the Paradisus Palma Real but it wasn't affordable for my family or guests. So we got married at the Paradisus Punta Cana - it was AMAZING!!! let me know if you have any questions!

Perfect!! It is so hard to googling photographers in Punta Cana, not much come up.
For HDC, aside from paying for their services, did you just have to pay the day/night pass for them to come on the resort.
How much did it cost (ball park range), if you dont mind me asking?
Ya i did alot of research before i booked a photographer. At the paradisus punta cana, there is a $1000 fee if you use an outside vendor. But you can waive this fee if you pay for them as a guest at the hotel for 3 nights, which was $600, so i saved $400. Other resorts don't have this fee so i believe you would have to cover the day/night pass.
Hey!! I contact HDC to get the price list.
How much time would you have liked to of has them off? I was looking at the 4 hour package.
Merry Christmas!!!!!!
The package I booked with them was for 6 hours and I also chose to have the videographer for the ceremony and during the cocktail hour. So they were there until the reception but I wish I would've paid them more to stay longer! Hope this helps

Thanks Joseen!
That is great to know! We have opted for the Aqua package as well. I received the additional cost listing, however didnt receive the cost calculator. I will have to go back and ask for it.
How did it go between the ceremony and the reception (cocktail)? Did you part take in that, that is that when you did pictures?
How many people did you have, and do you suggest adding a 3rd tier? Everyone I talk to, (who didnt get married there lol) say not to worry about it, the cake doesnt get eaten anyways,. Thoughts?
Now, I am all excite So nice to talk to someone who has gone through it in the same month, just a year apart.
We had our ceremony at the romance foyer and then the cocktail hour was in the lobby area in front of the ballroom. We didn't partake in the cocktail hour since we were taking pictures on the grounds on the resort and at the beach. My mom insisted on a 3rd tier so she paid for it. I wouldn't have gotten it, but if definitely got eaten!!!
Let me know if you have any other questions!

I'm from Edmonton! And I was an early bird as well, I booked our resort in August 2012 which was way over a year from the wedding!

I am getting married at the Paradisus in Punta Cana in 2014.
I am having a hard time trying to figure out costs associated with the wedding outside of the ceremony and wedding package inclusions. We are still undecided on the package... Aqua or Allure.
Anyone have any input on whether or not it the cake was a hit at the wedding?
Below is what I would like but am unsure of the costs:
Boutonnieres and bouquets for the wedding party
Hair and Make-Up for the bridemaids + mothers of the bride and groom
Photographer
Bridal Room
DJ? or is it better to have a playlist recorded before hand?
Is there anyway to have a type of party after the reception? With open bar, music etc?
Suggestions on having the dinner inside or on the beach?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Lisa
Hi again Lisa,
We went with the Aqua package...allure was a bit out of our price range. The cake was awesome, we added a third tier and alternated chocolate and vanilla! If you ask your wedding planner, they can send you a list of costs for all of the things mentioned and also ask for the wedding calcluator. It really helps to give you an idea of what things are going to cost!
My hair and make up were included in the package, the girl from the spa was fantastic!! I think it was around $100USD each for my mom and aunt to get hair and make up done. I also recommend the bridal suite, they provide snacks and mimosas We ended up hiring the DJ, I didn't want to worry about someone manning the ipod or speaker system. The DJ was great, the sound quality was alright but at least they had lights so it made it more fun!
After the reception, you can always hit up the lobby lounge where there is dancing and drinks. Or hit up the Red lounge which is the disco. We had so much fun at both of those places!!!

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to get your opinion on who you used or are going to use for Photography for your wedding. We have gotten prices from the resort photo center but before booking, what to know what you girls/guys think.
Any suggestions on how to go about looking for the right person/company to use.
Thanks sooooo much!!!
Lisa
Hey Lisa,
I just got married November 19, 2013 at the paradisus punta cana. I hired HDC photography because I wasn't satisified with the resort photographer/packages. They were amazing, the pictures were breathtaking and all of our guests couldn't get over how awesome they all turned out! The only thing I regret was not hiring them longer to stay for the reception! MIlan was our photographer, he was great and captured all of our precious moments!

My wedding is coming up next Saturday (11/30) and we booked with HDC Photo. Arnaud mentioned that we would be having Miljan and Charly and we will be meeting with them prior to the event. We have heard great things so we're interested in meeting them to get their perspective for the phtotoshoots. I will say I've heard Arnaud and Milan/Miljan's name float around a bit but haven't heard of Charly. Anyone had any experiences with Charly? Thanks in advance.
Milan photographed our wedding and Charlie did our TTD. Both of them were amazing to work with!! Me, my husband, and all our guests in stunned by how beautiful our pictures turned out. We met Arnaud two days later in the lobby of our resort and we chose the pictures we wanted printed, they delivered the prints, DVD with all the edited pics, and video that evening! They are bloody efficient. My only regret is that I didn't hire Milan to stay longer for our wedding!

Hmm that is interesting, I see that is says an open bar is included, but it doesn't say premium bar. I will ask my planner and see what she says but so far she has told me we would have to upgrade. Since everything seems to cost extra I am trying to be careful of what upgrades I do since I have a budget to stay within! Thank you for your input, I appreciate it!
hey,
One of the reasons we upgraded to the Aqua package was for the premium open bar!!!

i hired HDC because of all the great reviews and feedback! the fee was waived because i paid for the photographer to stay 3 nights at the resort which ended up being a bit cheaper than outside vendor fee.

Ohhh how did you get in contact with them? I'd like that form as well and talk to them about some things!
Thanks

3 months to go!! Woo hoo they are expensive from here too! Its about $2200 for flight and hotel, a lot of ppl are waiting for a last minute deal but I don't know how much it'll go down.....I'm right ahead of you!! October 12. I'm super excited but at the same time about to pass out. Airline prices are through the roof to Punta Cana. Any ideas anybody? -
Dallas is way cIoser! I'm flying from Edmonton, alberta! We will be flying from Dallas. The first week of December wasn't too bad for room rates and flights. We wanted to avoid the holiday peak season as well. I just can't wait and if it would of been up to me alone, I would have gotten married 6 months after our engagement! Congrats to you too! Where are you flying from? -
Where are you flying from? December was going in to peak season so we decided on November instead. Were the flights/room rates decent?

what outside wedding vendor are you using? or is it because it's at the jellyfish restaurant?
We hired the dominican trio for our cocktail hour. We didn't even get to see or hear them as we were taking pictures on the beach during the cocktail hour. Also, none of the guests really mentioned the dominican trio so I think you could do without. We also bought our portable bose stereo to use during our welcome cocktail party, so you could do something like that. We didn't want to pay for renting their sound system.
