On the right side where the "tools" are- the last tool is "resize." Make that number match the size you are printing to in pixels. Pic monkey uses 300 dpi (dot per inch) printing so you have to figure that in as well. For an 8.5 x 11 try 2550 x 3300. You can just google the conversion for any size you want.

    Make sense? Hope that helps!

Oh my gosh YAY!!! It worked! Haha I was so depressed last night because they were all fuzzy and hard to read. Thank you soooo much for your help!

Thank you! Yes, I did the, myself. I made them on picmonkey.com which is a photoeditor. I just start with a white "picture" and then add all the text and designs as I go. It's fairly easy to learn with a little patience.. I'm self taught- so if I can do it...anyone can! :)

    Thank you!

Thanks! I like the humor too... I figure- we're on the beach.. I don't really want it to be overly formal.

Okay so I just spent about 4 hours making our own programs using picmonkey... but for some reason when we print it off the quality is pretty bad and the writing is fuzzy! How did you print yours?

  3. We looked into Studio Suits... but the shipping was going to be $80.00! Yikes! I actually ended up ordering linen shirts and khaki pants from Old Navy of all places for my dad and brothers... I took a risk thinking that if they were bad at least I could return them easily and have time to find new stuff. I was pleasantly surprised when I got them! They look expensive and the quality is great. I would definitely recommend them if you're going for a more casual look like we are.

  4. Hi Tanzi!

Hopefully I can help - this is my understanding but someone correct me if I'm wrong!

    1. This was the pricing I received when I booked last June. Our wedding is on June 11, 2013, and this is the pricing I'm going off of since I haven't heard anything else.

    2. I haven't seen these packages - but I like them and kind of hope they are available to us. They include more than the original packages I was sent.

    3. This is the new pricing that is for brides that booked after 12/10/2012.

Hope that helps! I have a bunch of docs from the resort if you need any.

Trying to decide which resort we should settle on but had some questions for you all... I was wondering about getting married in Jamaica is it legal when we return to the US? How long does it take the marriage license to be received to us in the US? Didn't want to get married here first and then go to Jamaica cause what would be our anniversary date? Just some questions I thought I might ask thanks ladies

We're getting married in the US first... just because my fiance is in the Air Force and we are going to need our marriage license ASAP so that I am able to get an ID, get under his insurance, live on base, etc. I've heard the licenses can take 3-6 months to get back to the US and we just can't risk it. We're going to go to the courthouse with his parents as our witnesses and have it be very straight to the point. I don't want anything special read because I don't want it to feel like we're already married. We're going to have the date we get "married" in Jamaica be our anniversary date, since that's when we'll be doing the ceremony and celebrating and what not! It feels kinda disappointing, but oh well. Not much else we can do in the situation! If he wasn't in the military, we would probably do the official marriage down in Jamaica. But, you've gotta do what you've gotta do. :) Hope that helps!

Which Iberostar are you getting married at? We are getting married at the Suites in Jamaica and would LOVE to do these. Unfortunately, I spoke with our airline and they said I can't bring them because of the fuel cells. :( Anybody know a way around this? Is it safe to mail them?

We plan on about 30-40 people attending our wedding (RHS is the top contender for location). How early did you get your save the dates out - and how do you word them? Here's the trick with our wedding: We're not planning to have it until April 2014. We want to get ours out early enough so people get a heads up + time to save. Any advice? When do you send the pricing, group booking information, etc?

We sent our Save the Dates out a year in advance - we just did a cute little postcard (similar to this one http://www.etsy.com/listing/61533997/save-the-date-postcard-vintage-beach?ref=sr_gallery_30&ga_search_query=save+the+date+postcard&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_search_type=all) and it had our wedding website listed on the back. On the website we listed pricing, flight info, resort info, TA info, etc. Hope that helps!

He managed to get through to someone and they said they would send the form asap however it never came. But I emailed them Monday and they emailed me back today. I was able to get the pricing for 2013, the actual form you need to fill out and they also attached prices for the photographer. If anyone needs any of this info please let me know and I can send it to you. Thanks for the msg back!

Whoa you got the 2013 pricing?! I've been waiting on that for forever! Could you pretty please email it to me at [email protected]?

    Thanks in advance!!

  9. Hi Niki!

We are doing the "Blessed by the Sea" package because we are planning on going to city hall before we go and legally getting married here in the states. We had first planned to go with the legal ceremony, but when I read that the marriage certificate can take months to get to you we realized that wouldn't work for us. My fiance is in the military and we will need the marriage certificate ASAP so that I am able to get my military ID, insurance, housing, etc when we get home. I don't think you necessarily have to "renew vows" if you don't want to. I'm sure you can have said whatever you want in the program. And, it is $200 cheaper, so if you're on a budget like me you'll be able to put that money toward other things!  Good luck. :)

  10. Hello ladies!

I am sure this has been answered somewhere before, but does anyone know how long it takes to get your marriage license? Do they give it to you right then & there after you sign it or do they have to mail it to you later? I am asking because my fiance is in the military and we will need our marriage license quickly in order for me to get under his insurance, benefits, housing etc. I have been reading through the threads and some said it took about 6 months to get it while others said they got it right after the ceremony. We may have to secretly get married at the courthouse before we go!

It's so nice to have the support of other brides.

Thank you! I will have to try them. I actually got the contract forms from a bride on here and sent them out to them so they have everything they need, I just need that date confirmation! :)

  12. Hello everyone!

I've been reading these message boards quite frequently and really appreciate everyone's advice. We are planning our wedding at the Suites for next June 2013! Woo hoo! I emailed the resort once about two weeks ago, and got a response back from Tiffany last Sunday night saying they had June 11, 2013 open (we had originally wanted June 12 but we'll take what we can get! :) ) Anyways, I responded right away and told her we would take it, and did not hear back. I emailed her again on Friday because I am super anxious but still have not heard back. I know they run on "island time" and I completely understand that, I would just like to be able to send out our Save the Dates. They are all ready to go, all we need is to be able to insert the date and then print them! Anyways, I decided I'm going to call them so I can just get something set in stone. This might be a silly question, but for you brides that have called, did you buy a calling card? I really do not want to use my cell phone as I know the charges are going to be crazy... I don't think my fiance will be too happy with that. :) Surprisingly, I have never called anywhere internationally so I don't really know what I'm doing. I appreciate the help! Thank you!

  13. Hello everyone!

My fiance and I got engaged back in February and I am now just barely starting to hash out wedding details. We live in Colorado, and were planning to do the wedding here in CO since we have family ALL over the country, but after starting to plan the wedding it got to be super expensive super fast! (Think $10,000 just for the venue I wanted, yikes!) So, my fiance suggested a destination wedding. I tossed the idea around in my head for a couple days, and every time I started thinking about it I just couldn't help but get super excited and actually feel STRESS FREE. Our parents are all for it as are some of the relatives. We are not expecting everyone to come (most of my extended family and his will not be able to afford it, which is fine, we will probably just end up doing small receptions in our home towns... maybe cheesy.gif) I just really love the idea of a DW; being relaxed and stress free, plus we are both such HUGE beach lovers that I think it will be perfect! I wanted to look into Mexico (I fell in love with Cancun a few years ago), but unfortunately because he is in the military he is not allowed to travel to Mexico at all, due to the gang activities. Anyways, I have a few questions to begin with that I'm hoping somebody can help me with!

We've been looking into the Beaches/Sandals resorts in Jamaica or Turks & Caicos. My aunt (who is a TA) has suggested Jamaica because it will be much cheaper than Turks & Caicos. Has anyone ever stayed at these resorts/done a DW here? I really have liked them the most and really love their wedding themes. I would prefer to stay at the Sandals resort, but I think we may have some children coming. I've heard that you can have guests with children stay at the Beaches resort and they will be allowed to come to the Sandals resort for the wedding/reception. Is this true? I'm not sure how much I like that idea because I would like our family to all be together so we might all just stay at Beaches. Or I was thinking we could move over to Sandals after the wedding. Has anyone ever done that? Also, my little brothers (who are twins) will be 17 when we get married. Are they considered an "adult"? Would they be allowed to stay at Sandals? I know the website says adults/couples but I am the oldest and have all younger siblings and none are married.

Also, and I know this question is hard because it is so vague, but if you have done a wedding at Sandals/Beaches how much did it end up costing you? I do like some of the "upgrade" packages but wouldn't have a problem going with the beautiful beginnings package if it ended up being too much.

Also, I already feel guilty asking people to spend the money coming to the wedding. I know that it can be quite pricy. How do you get over that feeling of guilt? I just have to keep reminding myself that it is OUR day, and to do what we want.

Sorry for all the rambling! Thanks in advance. :)
