If you are using the DJ for your reception, you can actually request him to be your "technician" for your ceremony as well. It's the same price as renting the sound system ($180) but he will be the technician that comes with it. Which means you can let him know what music you want and not have to worry about bringing a CD or iPod for the ceremony! He told me that he has me down for the ceremony and all I need to do is let the resort know he's going to be the technician so they don't have someone else available for it.
I was really excited about this because he's been great to work with and I trust that he knows what he's doing when it comes to the ceremony music!
That's good to know. Who are you using for DJ?

I will post more later, but for now, I have a few items I would sell to any brides coming down this week if they are interested- that way , I don't have to lug them back to Michigan I have 3 32" White candelabras with extra acrylic crystals, 3 ten-foot-long/36" wide iridescent beaded curtains (used for the back and sides of the huppah) 2 organza overlays ( for the cake table and guest book table, perfect size for a 36" top table) with iridescent beaded valances attached, white "I do " letters with some crystals, a blue <3 Bride <3 dress hanger, etc. Etc- let me know if anyone is coming this week and wants to buy these- this website has been so helpful in planning and want to have a mutual helping out if anyone wants. Thanks! I am having trouble uploading photos , so until I get them up, you can email me at [email protected]. Good luck planning ladies!
I wish I could help you out and take a few things off your hands but unfortunately my wedding won't be until next summer. Just curious where you got the bead curtains for the huppah from? I bet they looked amazing and I would love something like that.
Thanks
Alicia

Thanks for the replies ladies! The weather during the day in October was perfect but at night it dropped into the low 60's and was quite breezy. I'm happy to hear that isn't the case during the summer months =]

Hey ladies....Anyone been to Mexico during the summer and know what their night time temps are like? We went in October and it was quite chilly at night so I was just wondering if June-Aug were any better. I don't want my guest shivering at the reception =]

When you have your meeting with your coordinator, ours was Gina, she will go over everything and change whatever she needs to make things perfect! We also met with Linda the officiant to go over what all we wanted her to say and she gave us choices of different openings, vows, and closings. So request to meet with your officiant, I also recommend Linda because she spoke great English and you could understand her!
Check in was a breeze, Ryan's brother had a small issue but we sorted that out quickly. The rooms are amazing! our view of the ocean was awesome, i definitely recommend getting the preferred rooms, way better views, and the preferred bar makes better drinks and has better liquor!!! lol
Ladies do the trash the dress!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Those pics are the best by far!!! I actually came up with the idea of doing it at sunrise, cuz the sun rises over the ocean! We had to get up super early but my pictures are Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted to keep all of them. We did the 1,499 package so we got to choose 236 combined with our 36 from the Love package! i had a lace dress i was a lil worried about it getting ruined, but its in perfect condition, i just wore it in the shower and got all the sand off. The shower head detach so that was a huge help. Seriously if you take away one thing from this post please do the trash the dress!!!!!!! save save save if you have to lol ill answer any questions you have!
Lets see....i requested to have a quick rehearsal the day before the wedding it was about 20 minutes if that. We met Gina in her office and walked to the ceremony site at North beach. Definitely ask for a rehearsal especially if you have a bridal party so everyone knows what they are doing!!!! Also a must if your having ur ceremony on the beach choose NORTH BEACH! its more private and a way better location! south beach is literally next to the volleyball court, the the beach bar and everyone hangs out over there, especially the loud and obnoxious people, ill get into them later!!! Seriously tho brides if you know you have a rowdy group that's fine and all, but please try to control them during other peoples weddings!!! its just rude!! i saw at least 4 different groups of people that were clearly wedding groups being ridiculous when other people were getting married i wanted to ask when there weddings were so i could be loud and act like an ass whole, when they were getting married. Sorry for going off there lol most people are really respectful, i just expected more from other brides! So please ladies try and ask your groups to be respectful when others are having there weddings! We did our reception at the pool deck, i love it the food was awesome and it was really private! One thing i was so confused about it the food lol you can only pic one entree for everyone to have, they will make exceptions tho, we had one vegetarian and i chose a different menu for her just ask your planner. Our cocktail hour was at North jacuzzi, again more private than south jacuzzi.
I don't have my slide show yet so here's the link to my facebook page, my trash the dress and wedding pics i made view able by the public. So hopefully you guys can look at them. so there should be 2 albums!

Hey ladies,
I think we are going to try to reserve the pool deck for our reception. Does anyone have info on lighting options?.....Choices and prices? -
I agree with the preferred club comment! We stayed at DRC this past October and loooved our preferred club room. When I stayed at Dreams Punta Cana a few years ago, I just stayed in a standard room and some friends in preferred club. Both are nice but there was a definite difference between the two.

Hey Ladies,
What are you doing about photography? Are you using the resort photographers or bringing your own? I'm just beginning the planning process and I've quickly learned that the WC's are extremly busy and slow to respond so I'm so happy I found this forum. From what I've read so far, you all seem to be very informative and have great ideas.

Hey ladies,
Anyone know the specific min/max # of guests for reception locations? The only ones i'm seeing on the request form are beachfront and garden. I'm curious what the #'s are for like pool terrace, pool deck, ballroom, ect.
