My wedding is on the calendar at Marival for 10.25.13.  What did you ladies have to do to confirm your dates?  The wedding planner said that the date is confirmed, but all I did was send her an email requesting that date.  I'm a bit skeptical because I was told there is no deposit to hold the date.  Any thoughts on this?

This place is gorgeous.  Our wedding was PERFECTO!.  Ill give a full review when I return.  Our last day is tomorrow.  I don't see how anything could go wrong they definitely aim to please.

That is correct.  I am here now and it was asked if we booked before Jan 1.  We got free unlimited excursions.

I just had my 1st fitting last week.  I love my Paloma Blanca! :bride: I have decided to sew/attach my sash to my dress.  All we need to do is take in the upper bust sides so we can push "the girls" up a bit...and add an eyelet hook in the back as well as a bustle.  They will be sewing a bra into the dress - hence, the sloppiness up at the sweetheart/bust/lace line...there were pins and cups and all kinds of things going on in there at the time the photo was takem.  ;-)  LOL We leave in 44 days - I go back for fitting #2 March 5th.      

I am soooooooo excited. My dream custom ring is finally ready for pick up after over a 12 month wait. The only thing is that my wedding band is only 1/2 complete. He is giving me a sub band until he is finished. Im not happy after this long of a wait but I'll be ok with it. He has created a master piece like no other. I dont want to break down and say it as flustered as I have been with the wait time but "it was worth the wait". K

Finally I can share mine! It's a bit hard to see from the angle on the photo, but it's ankle length, so no problem with my bare foot ceremony!

I just got the call from our Jeweler. My custom wedding band is finsihed. I went by today at lunch to take a sneak peek (and get my e-ring back - it was a long 16 days without it). We will pick it up tomorrow.I snapped a picture - I am so excited.  :pinkie:

Well, mine is in the same family and since I've never posted it...here it is. Just like all of you, I'm in love with it! FI and I did shop together so I knew what setting I was getting, but I had never seen the diamond in it. I was so happy when I saw the final thing (back in May!)

I wanted to get an honest review of the hotel and the wedding there.  I am planning my wedding their this Nov.  I have been having a hard time getting the coordinator to respond via email.  Also I am now reading mixed reviews of the hotel.  I just want to hear from someone who actually had their wedding there recently.

Yikes!  I'm so sad to hear your event didn't run as smoothly as it should!!  I've heard the Residence is quite a big different than the Resort so I'll keep my fingers crossed.  Just out of curiosity, do you remember your wedding coordinator's name?  Hopefully it's not the same one I've been issued.  I've been curious if they were the same since you can have your wedding/reception at either location.  Did you get a chance to look at Paparazzi's photos?  I had been wondering if they were any good?  Did you bring a photographer with you, or someone from PV?  I've really been struggling on who to use.  Did you get a dj for your private dance, or did you use an ipod hookup?  Thanks for any info you may have!!!  And congrats on being a Mrs. now :woot:

Traci I just returned from Marival Resorts and Suites for my wedding 1/4/13. I hope the Residence and World Spa is different. Although everything worked out in the end, many things went wrong and I would not return to Marival. We had 56 people with us and they had many of our reservations wrong, including my husband and I's. We did not get our correct room until the day after we arrived. The wedding coordinator was very nice but was difficult to get a hold of until a couple of weeks before the wedding. She was not around much during the wedding to help and make sure everything went smoothly. They got our flowers and our cake wrong and forgot the champagne. The resorts photography, Paparazzi, was very rude and continuously bothered us to use them for our wedding. We had an outside photographer so we did not need them. They didn't seem to care and showed up at our wedding! I had to interrupt the ceremony to ask them to leave. The free wedding package was great, we paid extra to have private dance and dinner, which was definitely worth it. Overall we still had fun, our wedding was a blast and our guests enjoyed it but it was not stress free. If you have any questions just let me know.

My dress is SUPER heavy so I am considering a switch a few hours into the reception (like its that long to begin with haha). Actually, I intend or hope to keep my dress on for as long as possible and then switch into a more comfy dress just to after party at the lounge at the resort. I found this dress on Camille La Vie for $199 and thought it would be awesome.

I have been witout my e-ring for a week now.  We are having my wedding band custom made to match...and the jeweler wanted my ring as reference.  It should be ready in one more week...  :-(      I cannot wait to see it & show you.  Our wedding is in 64 days!  I cannot believe it's almost here!  xoxo

I had my final fitting on Monday here is a picture of me in my dress with it bustled.  16 days until my wedding, 13 days until we leave. 

Traci The process jas been pretty good. A couple times the questions I had where misconstrued or not answered but everone has been nice. I turned in my checklist about 2wks ago and attached pics of my ideas. I just scanned and emailed our passports & birth certificates. Time is coming so quick and now fi cant find his birth certificates. Im sure everything will work out. K

Omg........this is beautiful. I knew from your initial pics that the dress would end up being lovely. They did an awesome job.

Here is an update to my last post!. I did ask the seamstress to take out the dress a little bit so it wasnt so "mermaid" and she has shipped me the dress, here it is: Sorry for the photo quality they were taken on my blackberry! The dress is wrinkled from the shipping but you get the idea. The dress fits like a glove ( a little big in the chest) but I will get it taken in.  $220 plus $30shipping and  $20 duty = $270 The dress is made wonderfully,  it has boning and bra cups sewn in! Very impresssed and happy!
