I am completely in the same boat as you! I have an excel spreadsheet of all the packages I'm expecting so that I keep up with what's coming. I'm guessing we'll fill up at least 3 extra luggages of wedding stuff. =T I am only bringing 2 dresses though, so you got me beat!

We get legally married tomorrow at the courthouse. Nervewrecking and exciting at the same time! This is all really happening!
My mom has the remainder of my stuff (aka oot bags), my veil, and three dresses I am bringing down! CRAZiNESS!!!
Can't wait to hear about everyones wedding celebration! I kinD of wish I was staying at PLAYA so I could meet some other BDW brides!
Also, my MOH is flying from singapore to tokyo to dallas to cancun! Maybe she'll be on your flight Luckygal!!

Thanks! Oh yea, that's what I meant... pretty much the same shade as my shoes. I would highly recommend Jasmine's! They pretty much take all of the uneasiness of ordering a dress overseas out of the equation. They are a little pricier than other companies, but I think totally worth it. Great communication, great flexibility.

Just got my dress it! I like it a lot but it's super heavy and really big on the top (you can't tell, but I can fit a whole fist through the top gap. I don't know if it's my fault or their's...I don't think I lost that much weight...oh well, will get it fixed somehow. Also, I think I'm going to make a pink bow instead, to match the groomsmen's bowties.

JQ - you look amazing in your dress! it's very flattering on you.

Hi ladies! Just wanted to share my progress pictures with you all. I ordered this from Jasmine's Bridal and took different parts of several dresses and put them together. The original design was going to be an Alita Graham, but then I changed the bottom to a Jim Hjelm ...and also added a bow in the back:

Kelly - that is so exciting! I can't believe you finally made it!!! Congrats! Can't wait to hear all about it and see pics!
Ladies - I need your help! For some strange reason, I just had the urge to switch my reception site from the central garden to the beach (I saw a pretty picture). I was initially encouraged to go with the central garden because it would be easier to walk on, less messy (less wind/sand)...but I'm thinking what's the point of travelling to Mexico to have a grass wedding!?
What are some of your pros and cons for beach vs. central garden and what has your experience been (for past brides).
For the beach wedding - do people take off their shoes? Does the sand get in your food?
Thanks for your help!!!! <3

Sorry, I forgot to say these are from old navy.

I missed the webinar too =( Any good advice that you guys picked up would be super helpful!
Also, I just found these linen pants for my groomsmen. Initially was going to go with studiosuits.com, but for $20, this is a steal! A couple of them tried the pants on yesterday and they fit well and looks nice. Not see-through and it has a tiny bit of a tighter fit, but that's ok because my groomsmen will be wearing suspenders and a bowtie with it (so I don't want it to be too loose anyways). The price in-stores is $20 right now, but online it is $30. It may be more convenient to buy online to get the exact sizes and there is a 20% code until 5/8 making them $24 each.

Thanks Rocio!
I asked my WC about some of these and these were her answers:
1. Are we able to transfer our hair/make-up and face saver treatment that comes in the Luxury package to other people (ex: MIL or father
Package inclusions have no cash value and cannot be substituted or exchanged for additional services neither give to some one else.
2. Can we move the wedding photographer that comes in the package to the rehearsal dinner?
You can not move the photographer service to another date. Must be the same date of the wedding.
3. Has anyone opted to do the buffet (for 50+ people)? How was this? Which one did you choose?
4. Has anyone walked over to the MAC store to get your make-up done?
5. Are the under-table lights for the beach receptions only? Or can we get them if our reception is in the central garden?
The lights under the tables are under availability. (what does this mean??)
That's good to hear that they let you transfer the make-up to another night! I will ask my WC about that!

1. I am not sure if you will be able to transfer to other people, but you don't have to use the services on the day of the wedding. I am getting my make-up done on Thursday for the Welcome Cocktail Hour and hair on Saturday for the wedding. My cousin is doing my make-up on the day of the wedding.
2. I think the answer is No, but confirm first. I tried to move the photographer on Thursday for the Welcome Cocktail and was told I can only use him/her for the Ceremony. I have the Ultimate Lux Package and is clearly stated on my package list that the photographer for the Ceremony. So I think you may get the same answer . . . . but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Hey qgirl2,
I asked Marvin about buying bulk flowers, but he said it is not their practice to do that but he would do it - he sounded hesitant though. If you don't mind me asking, what did he quote you for your bulk flowers? I just want to get some sort of idea. I was planning on having my aunt (florist) make our bouquets, etc. You can PM me too if you prefer.

You can buy the paper for like 5.00 a pack! I am having Marvin do my flowers! Gave us some great prices and I am lucky enough to have a florist as my mom's best friends so we are buying flowers in bulk from him and our guest is doing all our butounieres and bridemaids bouquets as well as decor on the chairs and huppa for me! That kept the cost way down!!
Found a really cute idea on Martha Stewart for programs and designed my own menu's, just have to print them all. Table linens, found some great sites for linens and napkins and still cheaper then renting from the resort!
Made out appointments for hair and makeup at the spa. A little frustrated that they have 1 of my brides maids earlier because our photographer is coming to take pic of us all getting ready. Hopefully that will get rectified(anyone else see this problem) Or is anyone here having someone come in to do hair and make up in the room and know a good company. I am just worried they would charge yet another vendor fee for this. Just need to pay off the final payments so I can get switched to my onsite WC..
Really excited picked up my dress and getting alterations started next week!! Everything is coming together!
Won't be long now until I am a mrs.!

Yea, for sure! I think it would look so much better with lights on the table since it can get dark out there. I was planning on doing something like this with the battery-powered lights as well.

-
@megrubenking - that happened to me too. his website is: http://mayafloral.com/gallery.php, and email address is: [email protected]
-
@queenoftheu - that looks cool! would you bring all of those candles in your luggage though? and if it's windy, will the flame hold?
@rsosadept - thanks so much for the info! i forwarded it to my florist aunt who will contact them.
-
rsososept - thanks for the info. Do you have their contact info? I was just talking to Marvin today, but would like to compare other prices. Also, I'm from Houston too!
Also, speaking of flowers, does anyone know where you could buy loose stems of different flowers? My aunt is a florist and is willing to put together bouquets/centerpieces for me, but not sure where to get the flowers. I read on the forum that there is a flower shop on 5th avenue or something? Does anyone know about this/contact info??
Thanks!

I am wondering that myself as well!

For all the brides who are trying to find the original designer of your dress --> here's how!
1. Go to Google Images (http://images.google.com/)
2. Click on the camera in the search bar to "search by image"
3. Either upload a picture of the dress or copy in a URL
4. Voila! It should show up in your search results

Hi everyone! I'm trying to figure out who the best company is to order from. The dress I want is tulle, but I haven't seen many tulle dresses on here, so I can't get a good frame of reference. Any advice? Thanks! http://www.landybridals.com/ball-gown-wedding-dresses-sweetheart-brush-train-white-h2gr0035.html
Also, does anyone know who the original designer of this dress is? I tried using Google Goggles, but it didn't work.

Hi ladies, our wedding was on July 14th and I just wanted to share our wedding video and pictures with you all. Let me know if you have any questions regarding the resort / wedding stuff. Getting married at The Royal PDC was the absolute best! Our guests had such an amazing time and many said it was the best wedding they've ever been to. We are STILL in wedding withdrawal. Good luck to all you future brides out there - and enjoy the moments planning, it will end before you know it!!!
