    I am getting married in November I will be there from the 5 to the 12 let me know what you are looking for I can try to help...I have had two conference calls and close to finishing all details. I have a wedding here before I go so I wanted to get everything confirmed by April. I have plenty of information in terms of pricing, pictures and details...Let me know......

  2. Hello Sunlover,

     

    I agree I think it is crazy that you have to pay $6.00 for extra chairs (I have to pay $180.00 for an extra 35 chairs) when I paid for the diamond collection which is $2,300.00 and they can't give me chairs for my ceremony, I have never hear of that.

    Best way to secure is through a travel agent, get them to contact the wedding department directly do not email.

    In terms of the booze cruise I know the Rock the Boat tour included in the $1500 slection compares to a booze cruise....right now I am trying to see if I can pre-book this tour before we arrive so that my guests do no have to wait and do this together....it is kind of hard to have 60 ppl. reserve one tour at the same time....tryo communication with your onsite or miami wc to find out about this..I have read this is lots of fun they have small snacks and booze, and music and you go to a small island....

    Anyone have good info on types of private events that you've seen or had at the resort?   Was it the onsite coordinator or the "conference call" sales rep that provided pictures and booking of locations for events?  We wanted to do a "booze cruise" type event for the group during the week and have not gotten any quotes despite repeated emails.

    That is awsome that you are able to use the private unlimited functions it helps...the once question I ask is when did you sign your cotract because I want you to make sure they don't charge you for time over 3 hours, if you signed the old contract just make this apparent to your WC (in miami) that does your proposal that you have signed the old contract and don't have to pay the $60 per table over 3 hours. In terms of set up fees I told her that I wanted to put stuff on the chairs at the ceremony she told me that is not a good idea b/c they will fly away from the wind so she said to have someone stand at the beginning of the aisle hand them our before you guests sit down...that will save you money....in terms of set up for reception favors they will do for free however if you have menus, book signing, pictures, decor yes they will charge you. I got the diamond collection however you still have to pay for center pieces (they are sooo expensive) she sent me photos of my choice (if you need info I can email it to you). In terms of handling my account she has not told me that she is handing it over did she mean weddings to the end of Feb. 16? Lets keep in contact I find this helpful to back eachother up...

We do plan on using the in house photographer. What is your plan for that? I was unaware that they charge for every chair over 30 with the complimentary package. I dont know if you have heard the same thing. Renee also told me that they charge to set up any decoration that you bring yourself. $200 to set up ceremony decor and $100 per table for reception decor and only staff is allowed to set up any decorations. I dont know if anyone has any info on this because I havent seen this info before. Are you going with a decoration package or do you plan on bringing things yourself? Also, Renee informed me that she is no longer handling our wedding because she will only handle weddings from the 16th to the end of the month for the Hard Rock. Were you told the same? Have you spoken to her since your conference? Thanks!



     

  6. Hi Ladies,

     

    I need to clarify two main points:

     

    1. The unlimited private events- I signed my contract back in October 2011 with the Diamond Collection I was under the impression that

    you get unlimited time meaning you are not limited to 3 hours. If you go over the 3 hours then you have to pay $60 for every hour after.....can someone clarify if they have heard different from Renee or the WC onsite then I can speak to that, in addition I can use my TA to clarify this when I signed my contract.

    2. I paid for the diamond collection however on the breakdown of what you get it states "white avant-garde chairs" no where does it state only 35 when you pay over $2000 for a collection I think it is ridiculous to pay $6.00 for additional chairs over 35 people....

    They try to get you on everything here.....if we all try to communicate then we can avoid them trying to get more money out of us....in addition in many of the guides it does not state any of this information.

    In regards to the club this is the first I have hear this, I was told on FB by the resort you have to pay cover even if you stay at the resort, has this changed since they opened? Does that mean that you have to pay for drinks then? Reason being I am planning to go to the club one night while we are there for the week but my fiance and I were going to take care of the cover charge for everyone and needed to work that into our budget..can you tell me where you can find out about admission for the club? Thank You

    I posted a few weeks back about how there is an admission charge to the club and that drinks were not free there, that is incorrect. They only charge you admissions if you are not staying at the resort.

    I am having my wedding November 2012 and I signed my contract back in September of 2011 now when I signed the contract it stated in the wedding guideline that you recieve unlimited functions does this mean the time limit is not 3 hrs and depending on your location (outside versus inside) you will not have to pay extra unless you go over the time limit for being inside which is 12pm whereas if you are outside the latest time is 11pm and you do not have to pay at all? Reason being when I talked with Renee she informed me that you get 3 hours of unlimited function time everyday therefore you can do welcome dinner and rehersal dinner you will just have to pay extra on the day of your reception which will amount to over 3 hours....can you help me out b/c I have my conference on Feb. 16 and I want to make sure she does not put us all on different exceptions and I get what I orginally thought....if we could stay in contact it seems as though our weddings are similar....which package did you go with from the old collection?

    That is sooo funny I was thinking of contacting you and asking you some questions too.....My ceremony is at 4 pm I hoping for the Ipana beach location, the beach is supposedly longer and wider. 5pm is my ceremony and I was debating between the eclipse terrace and the tropical terrace. 6pm is my reception and I was hoping for the element terrace. I hope none of my hopes are the same as yours??? I have read they sometimes double book venues....if we both know we are on the same day it would be great for us to be on the same page to see what we both want in relation to venues......just a thought? In relation to your time in between the questions I have for you are:

    1. How many guests do you have....meaning do you qualify for the unlimited functions?

    2. Are you using an outside vendor for phtography/video (if you are doing both? I don't know) but if you are using the in-house photographer then you have to have consecutive events that is what I was told and read, just thought I would clear that up.

    3. That is a hard one becasue my are consecutive....have you had any direction from Renee to having your functions one after another....I do not know if it is policy.....I would say do a ceremony and add on an extra hour of services it will be cheaper than adding on to your reception time...unless your guests would be ok waiting at a lounge of their choice.....

     

    I have a question do you know if it is really cold and windy in November to have the reception on the terrace?

     

    Also, FYI Hard Rock Punta Cana is no longer apart of the Palace Resort chain my TA is looking into who they are affiliated with......I have plenty of reference materials if you need direction I can forward them to you, the only thing I am waiting to get is a price list for the beauty salon for hair, I have asked three times and waited over a month......

     

    I would also suggest to bring any materials that have information regarding what the hotel is suppose to offer e.g. I read they don't offer casino credits anymore and I also read they do...when ppl. were denied the employees said "show us something that says we offer this" I am bringing every piece of paper I have in my possession so I am not caught in this.....I would also bring pictures of what you are going for the more detailed you are on your end the easier it will be for you......

     

    Have you booked a conference call with Renee yet?

Yes all the items will be included for the buffet....I read other brides responses and they liked the buffet selection, it gives your guest a varitey and they can put as much on their plates as they want. Also I would say depending on how many ppl. you are feeding it may work out cost wise to benefit you (also if you have the unlimited function option if you have 26 rooms booked)...

    I know you had your conference call today and hopefull you had alot of questions answered. I was able to talke to my WC in Miami and she reassured me that the wooden walkway is going to be there in November. I made it clear that was the only reason I was getting married on the beach so that I could wear shoes...also I had a small conference yesterday and an email answering alot of my questions, my WC is Renee. She was very vague however I am working ahead of myself so we set a date in Feb. to do another conference call.

    I a new bride to be on this site and my wedding date is set at the Hard Rock for November 9, 2012 and will be staying from Nov.5 - Nov. 12. Congrat's to previous brides and soon to be brides. I would like to say thank you ahead of time to everyone taking the time to post information for future brides. The first thing that caught my attention is that @sobol1978 said that if you go with the complimentary package you do not get the wooden aisle is this true? There are two ceremony locations Ipanema (left) & Isla (right) if you are looking at the resort from the beach and from what I have seen in pictures and videos that even without a wedding the wooden aisle is still in place? Please comment....

    I am getting married at Hard Rock on November 9, 2012 and will be staying from November 5-12. That is great to hear I have another bride there during the same time. I still have plenty of questions but have also done plenty of research. Hope all goes well and maybe we can bounce questions and answers off eachother.
