  1. Hi girls! I have really been MIA lately (sorry!), I will try to read back through all the new responses and reply to any questions for future ERC brides! I just wanted to jump on here real quick to let you all know that there is a Vistaprint Groupon out today! Such a good deal, I bought 4 of these when we were planning (at different times) and ended up getting a ton of stuff for OOT bags, dinner menus, and our invites INCREDIBLY CHEAP! Hope this helps you ladies :)

For those of you that already got married there- do you think it's too hot and humid to wear your hair down? I want to cover my ears up, but don't want stringy, sweaty hair- not the look I'm going for!!!

At the ceremony itself, there was a perfect beach breeze and no one was hot at all - our ceremony was at 5:30pm. However, we went to the Martini Bar to take some pictures before the ceremony and I was sweating like crazy on the way there and back. My dress also felt like it had 800 layers so I don't know if that had something to do with it rolleyes.gif

  3. PS: For those of you asking about the spa/hair/makeup - Elias did my hair and makeup as well and I loved it! I brought pictures that I printed from Pinterest for both my hair and makeup, and like Jill - I came out thinking that my makeup was so heavy! But I don't wear a lot of makeup so I'm just not used to wearing a ton of eyeshadow and stuff. Everyone said it looked great and I think it turned out perfect for pictures!

Here are some photos my sister took:

Hi Everyone!  I just confirmed my wedding for May 17, 2013 at the Excellence Riviera Cancun!!!! I am so excited!  I'm new to this forum, and this is my first post, but I have already been gathering a lot of great information from reading everyone's posts.  I am wondering - has anyone used the in house photographers - VIP Wedding Photographers Riviera Maya ?  I contacted del Sol, and they said they no longer accept bookings at this resort.  That was kind of a bummer.  If anyone used an outside photographer recently, I'd love to know who it was so that I can look at their portfolios and gather more information.  Great photos is really important to me! Thanks!

Congrats on booking your wedding at ERC! You will LOVE it! I personally did not use the in house photographer because I didn't like a lot of what I saw on their website. We had 24 pictures included with our wedding package and since we hired an outside photographer, VIPs didn't even bother to show up for the wedding. However, after talking to them - they let me choose 10 pictures from our romantic dinner on the beach that was included in our package. I honestly had a really hard time picking 10 :(

As for our wedding photographer, I cannot recommend Photos In Cancun enough!!! Derek and Lorena were awesome to work with, they responded to emails quickly and were a blast on the day of the wedding. I still haven't done a review on them yet (sorry guys!) but I plan on giving them an A+++++ because they're just AMAZING! Here is a link to their website (http://www.photosincancun.com/) and of course I'll share a couple of my own wedding photos below ;) I apologize in advance for the photo montage of myself and my hubby LOL

  5. We advised everyone to go barefoot but told them that in the long run to go with what they were more comfortable with. Our ceremony was on the beach, cocktail hour on the pier, and dinner on the beach, so shoes weren't necessarily required but we knew that some people just prefer not to go barefoot. As it turned out, quite a few people wore sandals. We did do a sign for the ceremony and a lot of people ended up removing their shoes though:

    Hello -

Thank you soo much for posting this, they are beautiful. I wanted to do this, my only problem is I don't know bead sizes. I wanted to order my beads online because they have a huge inventory with a large variety of beads but I have no clue what size to order. Can you please give me a idea on what size beads you used? This would really help me a lot and thank you in advance...

I'm sorry, I'm not very bead savvy so I'm not sure what sizes my beads were. I think the package just said "Seed Beads" - I'm sorry I'm not a lot of help :( I will look next time I am at the craft store and see if I can figure it out!

    Hi Ashley,

I am getting married at ERC in April 2013. I am having trouble deciding on a wedding location. I really like the pier, but with 30 guests coming, it might be a little cramped. Where did you choose for your wedding site?

Hi there! We chose the beach gazebo and it was perfect! We only had 18 guests (including the wedding party) but there was plenty of room for more. I'll upload a pic for you rolleyes.gif

Let me know if you have any more questions!!!

PERFECT! Our ceremony is at 5:30pm as well and our cocktail hour is on the pier woot.gif

Okay ladies!  I just got back from ERC!  My wedding was Friday, May 25th.  Just finished unpacking and getting ready for my AHR.  I can't comment more about my experience but I wanted to address some of the questions on this forum.

We ended up bringing 5 bags with us on the flight.  I carried on my dress in a roller carry on bag.  My dress was lace and I just folded it carefully and when we arrived I took it out and hung it up and it still looked great.  All of our OOT bag stuff was packed in to the suitcases and we didn't have any problems getting through customs.

When I informed Gloria back in October about an outside photographer she quoted me $150 per person.  So since we had two photographers we paid a total of $300.

If you ladies have ANY questions about my experience just ask.  I was planning on doing a more formal review on the ERC site as well as DJ Mannia and Claudia Rodriguez photography in the next few days.

Brianne - Can't wait for your review! Thanks for letting us know about the OOT bag stuff and carrying on your dress - that is one of my bigger concerns!

  10. OK ladies, I'm getting really excited!!! I can't believe my wedding is only 3 1/2 weeks away!! YIKES! Maybe I will get my OOT bags put together tonight so I can post them for you ladies...I'm such a procrastinator :)

Anyone do a boudoir shoot for their fiance? I am doing one next week...sooo nervous but very excited! I've never done anything like this and I think my fiance will be really surprised. I just decided to do it last minute, I don't know what has gotten into me!

I'm so burnt out at work right now...just dying to be on the beach with my awesome friends and family (and my handsome soon to be hubby!!) woot.gif

    How are you ladies doing?

I am at excellence now and it is SOOOOO beautiful.  Everything I put into my checked bags made it through!!!! I was so nervous about the sky lanterns, welcome bags and gatorade packets, but nothing happened. my fiance even had a random check done in his bags(I put some stuff into his) and he was fine.

I met gloria the other day and she is so nice and friendly. I am not nervous about anything at all. I cannot get over how beautiful it is here. the food and drinks are wonderful.  when i return, i will write up about the wedding.

I hope you had an AMAZING wedding! Can't wait to hear about it and see pics :)

Thanks.

Yep, unfortunately they do charge $500 for outside vendors. It really sucks :(

  12. I will definitely let you know! I'm glad to get some feedback from someone who has seen that done before - I'm almost 100% positive that's what we're going to do, I just need to get my butt to the store to buy the stuff! I am having bride-itis....is that such a thing? LOL
