I’m selling my Alfred Angelo wedding dress for $200 plus shipping. This is a strapless, white chiffon dress with train and corset back. I had the dress length hemmed 1 inch at the front. The street size is 2 to 4. I’m 5 feet, 4 inches and wore 2 inch heel flip flops. My bust size is 36B and waist is 28 - 29 inches. Since this is a corset back, the dress is adjustable.
I also purchased a silver beaded sash from Etsy.com for $150. I had the sash attached to the dress, but it can be removed. I’m including the sash for free. I included photos of me in the dress with and without the sash.
I wore the dress for my wedding day and trash-the-dress session. The dress is in clean, very good condition -- but has a light brown stain along the inside of the bottom hem (from walking around the hotel grounds and beach) but is not visible at all from the outside of the dress.

Hi,
I think that is really quite expensive. I originally wanted sugar starfish too, but found very similar large pacific ocean starfish at Bamboo and Thatch. I got a dozen 8-10" starfish for about $18. The customer service and delivery were excellent.

I recently returned from Jamaica, and had the chance to see the Silver Birds Steel Ochestra perform live twice at two different resorts. They are seriously talented young group. They not only play steel drums, but also dance. I would really recommend them if you can afford a band.

I just recently came back from Negril. Riu Negril and Riu Tropical Palace are not next door to each other...it's about 15 -20 minute walk along the beach between both hotels. Riu Negril's beach is awful and man-made and the water there is not clear -- not what you'd expect from a Negril beach resort. If beach and water are important, Riu Tropical Palace's beach and water are much better.

If you're set on April, then you should consider having your wedding after mid-April -- which is the start of the off-season so hotel prices will be lower. High/peak travel season is December through about mid-April.

My fiance and I decided on a destination wedding after prices to have it near our home were through the roof! Anyway, we are looking for something cost effective, yet beautiful.
We were in limbo between Jamaica and Punta Cana but I have chosen Jamaica. Now its just a matter of date (looking at some time in April) and location. What are the best months, cost wise, to have a destination wedding and travel? We have been checking Iberostar Grand, and Rose Hall Suites, Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton, and Secrets Wild Orchid. But I see from a few on this site, that Gran Bahia is worth considering.
I hope that someone can help me make some head way with this wedding planning. Also, I wanted to find out about wedding packages that are offered. The only ones that I know for sure are the ones from Grand Palladium and Secrets. All suggestions and comments welcomed!
Happy Planning All!

Hi Candace,
A recent destination bride, Rashida, created our wedding logo. I don't think she's active on this forum anymore, but her profile name is FutureMrsTGun. Here is her planning thread, which has so many amazing DIY projects. She has a store on Etsy.com called "Destination I Do". Below are links. I highly recommend her if you need her to create a wedding logo. I emailed you our wedding logo...don't want to post here as I don't my fiance to find me here :-)

Our wedding budget is about $20,000, which includes our flights, hotel, and honeymoon/vacation for two weeks. We're also paying for a private catamaran cruise as our gift to our guests (rather than doing OOT bags). We have about 50+ guests.

Hi,
I'm using natural sanddollars for placecards and found an easy way to harden them so they're not so fragile. You can mix equal parts white glue (like Elmers) and water, and then brush both sides and edges of the sanddollars. I found that the sponge brushes work better. The mix dries very quickly. The sanddollars won't be unbreakable, but definitely helps and doesn't change the natural look of the sanddollars. Hope this is helpful

That's nice, Krysta. I think we might go with something like this...Jamaican flag/colors within the map. Our guest can sign inside the map.

We're planning to do a Jamaica map too for our guest book. If you find a nice map, let me know. I'll do the same. Thanks!
HELLO LADIES!! so my FI and i were trying to think of a unique thing to do as a guest book. we came up with having a poster of jamaica and getting everyone to sign it. i was thinking of making it on Vistaprint and having it in black and white but i am having trouble finding a nice picture of the island to use... has anyone seen one? -
We booked our 2 photographers for 3 hours and they will cover first 30 minutes of our dinner. Do we need to offer them dinner (costs $100 per person)? What about the DJ and outside wedding coordinator who will be there for over 5 hours?

Riu Tropical Palace has a better beach than Riu Negril. They are both in Bloody Bay, which is part of 7-Mile Beach but more secluded (less beach vendors) and less packed with hotels. As Albellis noted, Riu Tropical Palace guests have free exchange privileges to Riu Negril's nightclub and other amenities (but not vice versa). If price difference is not big, I think Riu Tropical Palace is much better choice. Good luck.

Are you looking for location in Ocho Rios? Jamaica Inn is near this area, and is considered one of the top hotels in Jamaica and has a beautiful, secluded beach. If you really want to stay at Couples San Souci, can your single members share a room? You just can't have single occupancy, so would the hotel really not allow two people in a room who are not a couple?

Hi there!
I've been to Jamaica and have gone on the catamaran cruises. Doesn't the Grand Palladium include a catamaran cruise as part of it's all-inclusive package? If not, check out Negril Cruises or Wild Thing Water Sports...you can book private cruises. I've done both and they are a lot of fun! You can negotiate discounted rates for a wedding party.

We've been to Jamaica twice now - stayed at the RIU Negril and then at the Iberostar Suites but absolutely loved Negril and would like to take our guests to Rick's cafe - as opposed to the Dunns River Falls cruise.
Has anyone done this before? If you have a contact that I could use, please let me know. I'm struggling on where to start planning this.
Thanks so much!!

If you love the save the date boarding passes, I think you should keep them If you haven't printed the boarding passes, could you include your wedding website link and provide more info on the resort, pricing, etc on your website? When I sent out our save the dates, our wedding website was not fully complete but I only activated the website pages related to the resort and flight information.

Wow, this looks great Amjohnson. How did you cut it so it looks so perfect, and what size paper? I'm working on a pre-travel brochure right now, and uncertain whether to do a passport style (seems like a lot work) or a tri-fold brochure that will be printed by Vistaprint. Thanks!

One of my nieces had suggested throwing tiny starfish, but I'm worried that they may accidentally poke someone's eyes. I'm going barefoot down the aisle, so I would be stepping on them!

Hi,
I was recently in Montego Bay and Negril. Private roundtrip airport transfer between Montego Bay and Negril are $60 to $70 per person total, excluding tip. I think your travel agent is charging too much. There are a number of reliable transportation companies listed on TripAdvisor.com. Once you're in Negril, to get from one hotel to another, you can take a taxi which will cost between $5 to $10 total depending on distance. Good luck!
