  1. The one hour was nice because honestly they don't rush you to finish right at an hour, it's very relaxed. We actually stayed longer than an hour and then went straight to our dinner reservations. My wedding was supposed to start at 3, but as all brides doing a DW should know, that is island time so mine didn't start until closer to 3:30...the ceremony wasn't long at all, then the signing of the papers, and them pictures and then we did the cocktail hour. Then dinner. If I could do anything over I would have had my wedding ceremony earlier so that I had more time after for pictures alone with my new hubby. It started getting dark fast after the cocktail hour. The iPod dock to rent was I think $150/hour. My husband wanted to kill me for spending that but we didn't do a DJ or alot of other things we cut expenses on. They provided our sand ceremony, you pick the colors you want. The jar is plain with Martha Stewart Weddings etched on the one side. We still have our sand in it at home but turned so you can't see the etching. The plane ride home jumbled it all up so the sand looks nothing like when we had our ceremony LOL. But again another part of having a DW. For the appetizers they have a ton to choose from and they were ALL delish that we got. You can tell the wedding coordinator about allergies and they will keep them away! All the guests loved our apps. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!!

Did you get beer & alcohol at the cocktail hour? If so did you have to pay per person? Did you think 1 hour was enough? Im thinking about having it 2 hours and paying the difference so it is a little longer. What kind of appetizers were they? My fiance is highly allergic to shellfish so I will have to specify that!! Also how much did you have to pay for the ipod dock? My wedding is at 2, I hope I have enough time for everything! What time was yours at? Did they supply the stuff for the sand ceremony? If yes was it nice? I really appreciate your help! its making me feel much better!!! :)
  2. Hi Brooke! I actually handed out some of my welcome bags at a group breakfast the morning after we arrived and then the last few people that trickled in we actually met them at their rooms and gave them the bags.

They give you 2 separate options for sit down dinners.  There is a 2 hour sit down reception that is $50/pp and then there is a 3 hour sit down reception for $75/pp.  I actually chose the 2 hour reception and I am going to have a 1 hour free cocktail reception since I have enough rooms booked in my group.  This way it will be 3 hours altogether and I only have to pay $50/pp.  At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to do a private reception since it is an all inclusive resort BUT my mother talked me into it.  It will be nice to have the DJ and the privacy that we wouldn't be able to get at a restaurant.  But I'm sure either way, no matter what anyone chooses, is gorgeous.  My wedding is on May 8, 2013 and I cannot wait!!!!  Less than 4 months to go.  Everything is really starting to come together.. Hey question for you ladies out there that did Welcome Bags at Beaches T&C, how did you hand them out?  Did you do it yourself or have the resort put them in your guests room?  I'm just trying to get different ideas here.  I'm thinking that I might hand them out to everyone at the Rehearsal dinner but I'm not sure yet... Brooke
  3. We brought our own cake topper, and a few things to decorate but mainly just had them put our favors on the few tables and the natural surroundings were just beautiful! We didn't buy anything extra for the ceremony besides the ring bearer pillow...we did do the sand ceremony. Which I loved! Honestly everything was so simple because you don't need to overdo anything there...the natural surroundings are sooooo beautiful! We didn't have a DJ, we actually rented the iPod dock and had our own playlist. So we just kinda knew which songs where going to be when and went with it. We only had 18 total people including us so we didn't do the whole formal reception thing. As for the dinner, she set up the reservations and then the restaurant took care of us from there. They had two long tables set up for us and we had one server just for us. He was very attentive. The only thing I would change is ...I would have had my wedding earlier so we could have more time for pictures and I would have liked more time before our dinner. Other than that everything was perfect!

Thanks so much for ur thoughts n help! I am thinking of doing the real touch flowers! Did u bring or buy anything for decor for the cocktail reception? Or the ceremony? Im debating if i want or need to! I want it to look pretty n have no idea how its gonna look!! Did they do the introducing of the dances n stuff? Or did u have a dj? And did your wedding lady set up the dinner after? Thanks again :)
  4. We brought our own photographer...and let the wedding planner know that ON THE DAY of the wedding....During the on site planning session she asked us if we needed photos and we just said no. Only because I had heard that they give you a hard time...but honestly we had no problems. And then my Father in law video taped our ceremony and the cocktail reception. It came out vert nice and we didn't have to wait for anyone elses videos, we fot to see it as soon as we got home! :) The Beaches photographer will show up for ONE picture since you get a free photo with your theme and then will leave.

I am also bringing my own photographer to the resort. What license are you referring to? As long as they are staying on the resort and are a part of your wedding group, there is no license requirement that I am aware of. I have spoken to Roxi about this and she has confirmed that nothing is needed. The day of you just inform the resort that you will not need a photographer for the wedding ceremony, although they will probably show up anyway. You've been warned!
  5. Congrats on booking your wedding!! I had the beautiful beginnings theme. You can choose white or magenta orchids for the bride bouquet. You can bring your own flowers or choose from the other bouquets they offer (which are very costly) most of the past brides end up using real touch bouquets because they can't get the colors they want in a budget friendly price...but it's totally up to you! I did a 1 hour cocktail reception after my ceremony...that's when we cut the cake, did our first dances, and mingled with the guests. It was very nice. After that we all went to Schooner's for dinner. So I didn't pay extra for a private sit down dinner, they just sat us all in the same area, with two big tables next to each other. Hope that helps!

Hello brides!! I am getting married at Beaches in Turks on 11-12-13!!! I have my conference call with the planner next month. So of course now I have alot of questions and I am trying not to freak out. So since I am having a big group I will get the beauftiful beginings wedding theme included in my package. But my wedding colors are fuchsia and tangerine. Does anyone know anything like if they would change the colors for me or what? And I guess charge me for the difference? I know the bouquet for the beautiful beginings theme the flowers are magenta. That does not and could not go for my wedding. And I really dont wanna have to do fake ones..but I am not paying these crazy amount of $ of the bouquets Beaches offers if they will not work with me. Also anyone just having a cocktail reception? I don't want to spend the $ per person for some fancy sit down dinner when its not what we want. But I don't really know how it works? Like if we want to have our first dance & dance with our parents. Anyone know? Anyone have pics from a wedding there? Id love to see! I need all the help I can get!! Thanks girls! :)

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get prepared!!

    Thanks!!!

    Hi Taylor!

We had our reception outside of Schooner's...I loved it there! We had a small group though. I have seen a bunch of the locations for the reception and honestly anywhere on the property is beautiful!

We also did Natural Touch flowers, not real ones..and we had a guest video our ceremony and 1st dances and such...so we didn't use Beaches for that.

  7. Hi Rachel! We gave out welcome bags with a bunch of goodies and then also gave out sea shell bottle openers and starfish wine stoppers. So each single person chose one and the couples each got one of each thing. They were a big hit! Good luck :)

Hey Girls.. Soooo my day is soon approaching.. 10.12.12 and I have no idea on what to give as favors.. Can anyone give me any suggestions/ideas??
  8. Jacquelyn, I had everyone get together the morning after we all arrived and handed out my welcome bags then. Gave a little "thank you" speech with my fiancé too. The people that arrived a day or two later I just met them in their lobby at time of checkin and gave to them at that point :) [/right]

Hi all! Just curious, does anyone have a wedding video I can see as an example of eith er the Resort or an outside vendor?? Just curious on what others have to offer... Also, I am getting married Jan 26th....How bad am I going to have to worry about bugs during this time of year?? Also, Also,  girls that did welcome bags...Did you have the resort give them to the guest at check in? leave them in their rooms? in person?
  9. These shoes are BRAND NEW...only worn for about 10 minutes before my wedding, didn't even walk out of my room with them!!! They are from David's Bridal, and they are a size 8 1/2. They are the color "Regency" which is a beautiful purple. If you go to David's you can see the color in their bridesmaid's dresses. I bought these because they matched my sash and my MOH's dress, but unfortunately the sizing was a little too big on one foot. The size does run a little big, so if you normally wear a 9 then you would definitely fit in these. I ended up going to the store and the 8 actually fit me better than these. They are so comfortable on and I wish I could have worn them! Since they were a little too big they slipped off the back of my one foot and made me think I would trip going down the isle. I ended up wearing flip flops for my wedding. So I'm willing to sell these for the price they sell for at David's but with free shipping. I will pay for shipping anywhere in the US only! Sorry Canada ladies, but if you need them shipped you will have to pay the extra cost. I'm not afraid of offers for a little lower cost too, so please message me with any questions!

  10. Hi Brooke! Congrats and welcome to the thread! I got married at Beaches T&C this past May 19th at 3pm. We had 18 people and didn't do a private reception, because it was either $50/pp or $75/pp depending on what you wanted. We couldn't fathom spending that when we were on an all inclusive resort. We did opt to do the private cocktail reception though for 1 hour. We are so happy we did it this way. After the cocktail reception we had reservations at Schooners for dinner and everyone was very happy. I have heard of people doing the reservation at a restaurant for their "reception" and it worked for them. You may just be limited in which restaurants can accommodate that many people all together. Like Le Petite Chateau from what I saw couldn't do a party that large. And neither can the Hibachi restaurant Kimonos. But don't let that deter you. It's all a matter of what is in your budget :) let me know if you have any other questions! ~Jess

Hey everyone, I just booked my Weddingmoon at Beaches T&C today!!  We're getting married May 8th, 2013 at 2pm!!  I don't have my first phone call with Roxi until September 18th so maybe I could pick your brains a little bit for information... Does anyone know how much it is per person to have a private reception?  Also, is it possible to just extend the cocktail hour?  I'm probably going to have about 50 guests so I'm trying to figure out whether it would be better to have a private reception OR just try to make dinner reservations all at the same restaurant...any ideas/thoughts?!  All of your input is greatly appreciated!!!!! ~Brooke~
  11. Amber the bouquet is beautiful!! You won't be disappointed with it once you receive it trust me. Wedideas does an awesome job with their bouquets. I had a veil and I'm happy I did. I didn't put it over my face for walking down the isle but I did for a few pics. It's windy down there but nothing crazy that you can't do the veil. I was really worried about the veil beforehand too but in the end I'm glad I did it :)

Jessica~ I bought mine from Wedideas.com I chose one that is ivory calia lillies and 3 shades of purple roses.  I should get pics soon then once I approve it, then will mail it out.   This is the link to the actual bouquet that I modified.  Can't wait to get it.  If I am satisfied with it once I receive it, I will order all the other flowers from them for the wedding party. http://www.wedideas.com/Purple_Lavender_Roses_Bouquet_p/bqpps006.htm My mother in law talked me into a veil and a tiara.  I have seen pics of other brides wearing veils and they are blowing around a bit, but it still looks beautiful.
  12. Amber where did you order your bouquet from?? Post pics when you can!! And I wouldn't worry about OOT bags for the guests that aren't staying on the resort. My guests loved the bags and some used alot of the things while they were there and some used none of the stuff LOL all depends on what you are going to put in them.

Yes I will definitely post about it on Saturday.  I don't think I have many questions, but will share how it goes. I know I'm going to ask about the day passes.  I've heard they are different times like a day pass and then a night pass. I probably ask about prices as I want to bring our own stuff for the sand ceremony.   My TA was really helpful, so I don't have many more questions.   I'm excited though! I'n sorta just washing my hands of it if people want to book at another resort. It sucks, I won't get the number of rooms booked for free stuff.  I'm just happy they are trying to make it down.  I probably won't make them an OOT bag since I don't know when I will see them.  If it's on the wedding day only, I won't be thinking about getting them a bag.   I've been watching Bridezillas and am very happy that I am not that kind of person.   I ordered my bouquet and am anxiously waiting for that to come in.  Should be here early August.  I know I have over a year, but I decided to knock as much out as possible.  If I love my bouquet, I'm going to order the rest of the parties flowers.  I'll keep you posted on that as well.
  13. Hi Jacquelyn! I was married at Beaches T&C in May and the majority of our guests stayed in the French Village. It is very nice there and clean updated pretty rooms but it's the furthest from the beach. It had a very big pool that always has something going on and it's close to the water park and some of the restaurants. The French Village was the cheapest when we were booking that's why most stayed there. honestly stay in any room you want because you will travel all over the resort during your stay and find your fav spots quickly. We stayed in the Caribbean Village and would stay there again in a heartbeat. It's the closest to everything and right by the beach. The Italian VIllage was the most recent of the villages to be built and was beautiful but very expensive. Let me know if you have any other questions!!

How does everyone feel about the French Village??
  14. For the legal documents I brought our birth certificates and all that but they never ended up asking for them, I think they just asked for our passports and the customs card you get on the plane. Don't bother bringing the original BCs

Hey Ladies! Just wondering if any of you could give me some insight into the legal documents we need to send down to T&C?  What is the part that says all original and court certified documents must be hand carried?  Does this just mean we need to bring our passports and birth certificates with us when we arrive to get married?  I know this is somewhere else on the board but I couldn't find it!  Thanks so much! Beth
  15. Thank you! I'm supposed to meet with the photographer this weekend so possibly more will be up soon :) As for the wait, it sucks, but honestly it went so fast! And well worth the wait!!!

Thanks.  I saw some at Costco for $39 so very good price indeed!  Loved your pics btw on fb!  Looked like soo much fun.  I can't believe I still need to wait a year and 4months.  Ahhhh, but damn we need to save money.
  16. We actually brought our own snorkel gear but my friends rented it very easily and yes you can take it off resort, just have to return it :) I didn't use Tropical Imaging, I actually flew a friend of ours in and paid for his entire trip in exchange for one day of him taking pictures. It worked out well :) I'm still waiting for the rest of my pics....it's torture!! My mom and I don't have a very good relationship as it is and I got in a few fights with her before we even left...she was pissed because when we went dress shopping it wasn't just me and her, I brought along my mother on law and sister in law....keep saying your mantra Amber because you can't make everyone happy....just make yourself happy....it's YOUR DAY :))

That is really helpful Jess!  Thank you.  That's great info about the snorkeling.  Was it easy to rent the snorkel gear? And you could take it off the Beaches beach?  Did you use Tropical Imaging?  Was it amazing? I actually got in a fight with my mom over my wedding dress.  My future in laws were in town and we had my first ever try on wedding dresses.  Well my mom got pissed that it wasn't with her and it was with my soon to be mother in law.  I had to keep telling myself that this is my wedding.  That's my new mantra!  I'm not a selfish person, but I can be selfish about my wedding.
  17. **oops i meant BUT the Beaches security is....

Beaches does have alot to offer but if they can't afford it, so be it....you can always walk down the beach to meet them for the snorkeling or something :)) the BEST snorkeling is actually down the beach from Beaches....if you come out to the beach, face the ocean and go left and go down to the beach to the next resort (blue umbrellas also) there is the Coral Gardens...it's a reserve that is protected but you are allowed to snorkel around....WOW, beautiful coral and fish all over!!!! It's a must see :)) also anyone on the beaches can walk around and stop with each other hit the Beaches security is heavy once you walk up the stairs to get to the resort area...they literally radio to each other the description of people at each end of the beach that has walked a long way up the beach...and they ask u your room number. So just an FYI.

Thanks Kisha.  The cousins pretty much said if they stay at another resort they could afford to go.  I'm going east to visit family this summer and I'll see my aunt at the beach.  She loves the beach and the DW is a stupid idea?  I think you nailed the jealousy factor.! I do feel sales person esq when telling people what all Beaches has to offer.  I'll have my FI, my daughter and parents there and I'm focusing on that!   Thanks again for pep talk.  :cheer2:
  19. Kisha, yes plenty of towels and wash cloths. They actually check on your room like 3 times a day, NO KIDDING....they clean the room, then stock the room in the afternoon and then have turn down service where they give you fresh towels as needed. Craziness!! Lol so you will be fine with washcloths :))

Amber I'm glad I could help! :D For you ladies that have been there already I have another question. Are there wash cloths in the bathrooms? I know some resorts in some countries don't have them, so I want to know so I can plan for that as well. Thanks!
  20. Amber, first of all....thank you :) I'm glad my review might be helpful! As for your family, listen to me....we invited people that said the same thing....the people that matter and love you the most will do anything in their power to be sure they are there (unless they seriously can't afford it and they will send you emails and texts the day of the wedding :))) definitely any comment like that IS jealousy. To be honest I struggled with that with my own mother. Sad as it is. And the reason I slept in the same room as my fiancé (now hubby) the night before the wedding is because my mom and I got in a fight the night before the wedding. You can't change the way people are, but DO not let them ruin your moment and YOUR DAY. The great thing about a destination wedding is that it's all about YOU and YOUR SOON TO BE HUSBAND....everyone else is there to witness.....remember that :) You will Love Beaches, and anyone that can't afford it that stays at Club Med will still be able to enjoy your day. From what we saw, Club Med is not as updated and nice as Beaches at all, we picked up a couple from Club Med when we went horseback riding, they literally had to manually open the front gate at security there and when we went on a cruise it was very plain looking when we rode by on the boat....I didn't see inside the resort though.....oh and it's only about a 5 minute taxi ride away from Beaches. All will be fine :))) trust me!!!!! Any questions let me know!!!!! Good luck honey!!!!

Jess~ Congrats!!!   You look gorgeous and your dress is stunning.  Your review made me teary!  Thanks for the review, it had a lot of great info in it.  I got some news today from family.  Some of my FI siblings are going to try and stay at Club Med.  Not really sure how far that is but I know it's on Grace Bay and in Provo.  It's an all inclusive adult only resort. They are prepared to pay their own day passes, esp since I have no idea how often they will actually come over to Beaches.  Then my mom told me that my aunt said that having an island wedding was just stupid.  I really don't understand people.  My mom said it was jealousy, but who knows.  I just hope she continues that attitude and doesn't show up to the wedding.  Some good news, I picked my bridesmaid dresses!
