  1. You are welcome.......I just did it all a few months ago so if anyone has any questions feel free to ask.

And yes the shipping was relatively easy just make sure you go online and get the appropriate international shipping documents printed and filled out, it will speed up the process at Fed Ex.   Oh yeah, also was told by my wc that FED EX better than UPS.....so that is what I did. Fed ex.

Everyone was super excited to get our bags.....were used and seen on the beach while we were there...it was a backpack type.  I put welcome letter and the map show here.....

Here is picture of our koozies and M&M'koozies.jpgm and m.jpgcaymanIslandsmap-743257.jpg

  2. Give yourself plenty of time....it has to pass through customs....unless you ship international priority...then it will amazingly get there in two days......we waited until two weeks prior and was told that if we didn't ship priority it could get held up at customs....

I called Fed Ex in Grand Cayman and they suggested that: if you ship priority-they view it as a priority and get it through customs fast....it is less expensive to ship international normal but not sure how long that would take to get through customs.

PS-I put a detailed list of the contents and put in the two boxes I shipped and I had no problems.  Make sure you indicate everything in the boxes and they won't be held up at customs.  Also, indicate they are personal items for wedding.

  3. Hi guys  since I did the shipping via fed ex, thought I would share my experience.

I have to say it was expensive but a great move because with carrying our wedding attire and suitcases and toasting flutes and shoes and other wedding attire items etc for wedding adding the welcome bags would have been even more stressful than it was already since plane didn't have a closet for our stuff..We had to ask people to move their luggage to put my dress overhead.........so plan accordingly......but ask nicely and people will gladly help you!!

.......I shipped our bags and it cost over $800.00 because I shipped 30 welcome bags, sign in platter, sand and sea favor bottles, programs, name place setting tags (ceramic), wedding cake style cookies for place setting, etc

    Our bags had:

Koozie (palm trees and our wedding date), Personalized M&M's (faces, date and GC on them), Chip ahoy cookies, Peanuts, bread sticks, pretzels, sewing kit, sunscreen, lysol spray, shout wipe, first aid kit (Pepto bismol, advil, bandaids, neosporin), mini rum cake, voucher for breakfast buffet at Hemingways

You can order a case of the Tortuga mini rum cakes for about 1.50 CI per cake.  There are 60 per case I think.

  4. Laura:

Our rehearsal dinner was at Regazzi and Reception at Hemingways in June.

Since you are having your Reception at Luca I would suggest Hemingways.  Food was delicious and the patio is beautiful.  Interior is quite nice as well if you decide to eat inside.  Regazzi was good also but Italian and similar to Luca but definitely not as good as Luca!!!

    Best wishes!!!

We still need to book the rehearsal dinner and are considering Hemingways or Ragazzi's....any feedback or thoughts on those?

Also, I started a new thread under "The Island Weddings" regarding Cayman OOT bags if you have any good ideas to share.

    Thanks!

  5. Thanks!!!  Feel free to ask as much as you want......still very fresh and vivid in my mind.  LOVED every minute of it.

Arthur Henriquez, Marriage Officer  his email is:[email protected]   Super nice and very helpful. Send vows for us to review and to add or change.  We did sand ceremony also and total time was 15 minutes......which doesn't seem like long but believe me in the sun.......feels longer, but would do all over again and not change a thing.

I also suggest going to the Registar office before you leave and get two more certified copies of the Marriage Certificate for filing purposes at home.  The office is right in Georgetown and took 10 minutes to get certified copies.

Michael Lemay the steel drum player was awesome!!!  Sounded great and so appropriate for setting.

Spatogo.  Helen is the owner and did make up and Heather her assistant did my hair.  Bot came to my hotel, in my room.  They did 5 peoples hair and make up, manicures too.  You can use me as referral if you wish.  They were super. GREAT JOB.  Very natural and better than I ever expected without never meeting them before.  Updo's CI$90 blowdrys CI$60 make up CI$70 manicure CI$35 go to website and look under weddings [email protected]  email:[email protected]    Definitely reccomend them.  You can use me

Flowers and decor by Celebrations.  Food Hemingways.  Band Mainstream.....jazz reggae  you can find them on the web.  They had our family members up and dancing and doing the conga!!  It was so fun to watch everyone having such a great time.

I can't think of any other details but if you have any other specific questions feel free to ask.

Arrived two days before the wedding and stayed 10 days after.  Total 13 days.  Had our rehearsal Dinner at Regazzi...it was very very good.
Best dinners we had were at: Eduardos, Regazzi, Hemingways, The Wharf, CasaNova's, Yoshi Sushi,  7 Prime cuts and sunset at the Ritz (awesome-tell them you are on honeymoon and you will get special dessert), Morgans Harbor and a few others.......don't waste your time at The Lobster Pot, very overated.

Cimboco had good breakfasts as did Eats Cafe.

Sunshine grill has good burgers and fish tacos.

Captain Marvin is the best snorkeling/stingray excursions.  Dolphin cove better than the dolphins by the turtle farm.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Will post pictures when get back from photog.

  7. Super excited.  11 days!!! WOOHOO!!!!!  We are having rehearsal dinner at Regazzi, it is across the street from our hotel so it will be easy for us all to get there-No transportation costs  :)  Marina our wc said it was very good with excellent wine choices.  I will let you know!

  11. Oh. thank you.  We got so many samples of bags and finally decided on these........think it will be something the guys will use too.

We got Kodak underwater disposable cameras....worked out to be 6.67 per camera.  Received promptly and in great condition

  13. We are having ceremony on the Beach with a Steel Drum player......... cocktail hour at Hemingways terrace with Shellfish bar......then Dinner at Turtle pool Terrace.....Limited Hemingways menu.  We are having Mainstream a Jazz/Raggae band play at reception.   Should be fun.  I will definitely let you know how it went.

Fingers crossed that we still have our choice of date for either place, getting a little nervous about it!!
