  1. Hey Agirolamo,

I would reccomend the Mamma Mia.  The food was good and since you have to pick only one menu for your whole group it was easier with pasta, as everyone seems to like pasta. It was also nice being a little bit more private off to the side with a head table and they decorated with my flowers.  The cost for ala cartes for people over 20 is 12$ a person. I also saw  the Tai beach resturant and that seemed very nice( but it is more expensive). The Fondue resturant was very nice also and had really good food but I dont know how private it would be and I'm not sure where they would set it up as it is a little more open.

We got married at the yuppa and it was  very nice. We did not get a choice as the Gazebo was not available, but I think if the Gazebo was available I would have gone with that. We had to ask Mara for our first dance to be at the Beach  and we got to pick a song. (actually my husbands friend is a singer so he brought his guitar and sang us a song it was so nice!!) If you have a ipod you can bring it and give them songs to play there.(4 for the Ceremony and 1 for the Dance)

Yes definatly a good idea to go in depth with Mara, even after we asked about there being no decoration in our room they just put towel art on our bed. Im not sure if thats all there is supposed to be because the package stated that there was supposed to be Honeymoon Amminities and room decoration which I thought would be more then that for your wedding night!!( I was very disappointed)

If you have any more questions dont hesitate I would be more then happy to answer any questions you have!!!!!!

I can also send you a pic of the mamma mia resturant if you want to give me your email

  2. Hello Everyone,

We just returned from the Grand Princess on January 9th, the resort is Amazing!!! very beautiful, in fact I have guests that said that they well be returning. The Location for the wedding was very nice and off to the side, it was perfect as we only had a small group of 25 . For those of you that might have been worried like I was about hearing and seeing construction I didnt see a thing and we were in Platnium. We choose to do the a la carte reception at the mamma Mia and it was very good!! They set it up very nice with a head Table and it was off to the side which was very nice. For those of you that are worried about were to have your first Dance if you did not get the Dance floor they let us do are first dance right on the beach after the ceremony we really enjoyed that.

The only thing that I have to complain about was our wedding coordinator Mara there was not very good communication. For our  Nuptual breakfast we had to call room service ourselves which we thought she would have done for us, also we called the day after our wedding about our massage and we were told that that was our job to book it with the spa (which we were never told or we would have done it earlie) also there was no room decoration the night of our wedding which was supposed to be in the package. We just though we should have been told alot more at our meeting.

Another thing that was very nice was that my whole group was upgraded to Junior Deluxe instead of the standard Junior Suite my guests were very pleased with there rooms. One thing to that I thought I should mention A la cartes for Junior Suites and Deluxe suites were hard to book so let your guests know to book them right away as some of my guests were not able to book them, but if you are in Platnium it is way easier to book a la cartes I was even able to book 2 Group Suppers.( The fondue was amazing and also the Le fleur, awsome Filet)

I think this Place was perfect for our wedding!! and my Guests had so much fun at this resort ( as most of them like to party!!) Also Playa Del Carman was an awsome place to go some of us just got a big Taxi and all went together. I Hope that all you Couples out there have an amazing day just like we did and all the best in the future!!! If anybody has any questions feel free to email me and ask I'll be more then happy to answer any questions (:

    Cheers,

    Michelle

  3. I am really torn between resorts as I was thinking of going with the Blue bay Esmeralda because I am worried about going to the Princess( but it seems like such a nice hotel) Has anyone else decided to go with the Esmeralda? Now hereing the news I am leaning even more towards the Esmeralda.  Also the wedding coordiantor just emailed me the other day and are wedding is January 2nd I tried to email here and no response for a while it is frusterating.  Yet Patricia the old wedding coordinator for the Princess that is now at the Blue bay always gets back to me quickly

  4. I am just wondering if everybody elses travel agents are being very helpful in this Situation? Mine isn't first of all she told me that the resorts are 45 minutes away because i was worried and then she told me also not to worry because there is no swamp on the Sunset side. We were thinking of changing resorts because i was a bit worried about the situation  are wedding is Jan 6th and she told us that pretty much now we are not going to find a resort that well marry us and my guests well have to pay a change fee if we stay at another resort

  5. Hello Everyone I was wondering if someone could help m.  We live in Canada and were thinking of doing the symbolic wedding and just get married by a JP here as it seems like a liitle more of a haslefro the legal wedding.   I was just wondering if anyone has done the Symbolic wedding ,and if Ir seemed like a real wedding? Also once you are down there is it hard to upgrade rooms?
