  1. We were married on May 23 and it was extremely hot. I bought a really cute pashmina and didn't use it at all on the wedding day or honeymoon.

     

    In terms of menu, we created our own. We searched TripAdvisor for what food people liked best and we offered our guests a choice of the duck from Chez Isabelle, sea bass from Chez Isabelle and mushroom risotto from Toscana. The food was a big hit!

  2. Hey ladies. I need to sit down and write a detailed review, but I just have to say that our wedding was amazing. Yamina is so sweet and helpful and the resort is beyond goregous!!!

     

    We got married on Monday May 23 at 5 PM on the beach and had our reception inside one of the rooms in the convention center. It was definitely hot so I'm glad we had our reception inside although the air conditioning could have been much stronger. We had 45 people.

     

    Our photographer was Sascha Gluck and he was wonderful. He made us feel so comfortable, and I can't wait to see the pictures.

    I just want to share the super cute OOT bags I just got in the mail today. They were only $1.00 each.  They are the perfect size for carrying down to the pool/beach and good quality for that price. Plus, you get an assortment of colors which is nice!

  4. I've got a random question for other brides getting married at EPM the weekend of 5/20/2011. Have any of you had to relinquish extra rooms in your room block early because of a group of 200 staying at the resort that weekend?

     

    I'm still having issues with my travel agent, and I am starting to doubt many of the things she told me. Back on December 21, she told us she had received a letter from the hotel asking us to give up any extra rooms within 48 hours because they had a group of 200 arriving on 5/20/2011. I tried to verify this with the hotel but they told me they have several people working in the group department so it would be hard to give me an answer.

     

    According to our contract, we had until this week to give up any extra rooms.

  5. @KeraSmiley Our dates are so close...I'm getting married 5/23/2011. I had the same question about the photographer since we are doing an outside photographer too. We are actually doing a meet and greet on Friday so I wanted to see if Juan Navarro could come shoot that.

     

    @SparkleSun Please let us know what they say about your rehearsal dinner....if they will let use the 30 min then.

  6. I just want to offer a word of advice to my fellow brides -- be very careful who you choose to be your travel agent. We went with a local agent recommended by a friend, and it has been an absolute nightmare. She has broken our contract with her many times and now I'm convinced she has outright lied to us. I'm afraid we are going to have to take her to small claims court, and it's been stressing my finance and I out for months.  We can't just fire her because all our friends have given her their credit card info already. 

  7. Hi all,

     

    I've been going back and forth with Yamina about the wedding menu and I'm really confused. Based on past posts, it seems like people were able to offer at least two entree options plus a veggie option for their receptions, but then she emailed me today and said the sauces and the garnishes have to be the same for all the dishes. I don't want to be serving fish and beef with the same sauce. Please help!

    We're playing our wedding for a Monday in May 2011 and Yamina gave us the choices of the Lobster House, Barcelona Terrace, and the Event Terrace for our reception. I'm leaning towards the Event Terrace so we'll have more privacy, but it's hard to tell the configuration of the spaces from the photos she sent me. Has anyone had their reception on either the Barcelona Terrace or Event Terrace? We're expecting about 60 guests so I want to make sure we have room for everyone and space for a dance floor. Thanks!
