  1. I think you should do what feels right for you!!!  This is YOUR wedding day, not your mother's and not your sister's wedding day.  I wouldn't worry about WW3, I would just explain to your sister that it takes her a long time for her to get back to you, that you have lost your connection to her and that it works out best if you can have a MOH that will be there for you when you need them to be.

  2. @bon_dia, I took a chance on the photographer, because she is fairly new to doing wedding photography. I have to say that I made an amazing choice. I saw her site, and I was on a tight budget. Most of my stuff I am using for two weddings (one in Mexico and one in Canada), because we have family all over, we wanted everyone to share this amazing experience with all our family. So, because her rates were so reasonable, I really took a chance, but it was either spend $2000 + on a photographer or take a chance on someone (and our thought was if the pictures didn't come out great, we had a "do over" in Mexico and we didn't pay much!)

She was amazing right from the start, she talked to us through the planning. What was amazing about her was the way that she was able to get my boys involved, and how she interacted with them. She let them take some pictures, made them make faces, she made sure that they didn't feel left out. Our wedding was on the 9th of July, and we had our pictures back and edited within ONE week!!! ONE week!!! My husband and I looked through the photos with her, and it wasn't even a question about inviting her to take pictures in Mexico.

I even saw a tear in hubby's eye when we were watching the video. (Oh yeah, the video was done a little longer than one week).

I would definitely give her an A+++++++++++++ review. I would recommend her to anybody, especially those who are on a budget. She was natural, she did very little posing, and just got the best pictures out of us. For those who are on a budget, her rates are REALLY great right now, and I would recommend that if you are going to book her, do it ASAP, because with such amazing rates, I am almost sure it is too good to be true.

Also, I wanted to comment on my makeup artist, Gaby Ramirez. She was so amazing also, she really used natural tones and nothing that was too flashy. She brought out my best features. She also did the makeup for my mother and my aunt, and they both looked really great also.

    P.S.

I love this site sooooooo much!

  3. Ok, so lucky me, I get to have two weddings in this go, one in Canada (for my Hubby's fam and friends) and one in Mexico (for my fam and friends). The same photographer will be coming to Mexico with us to capture our Mexican wedding which I am really excited for, but here are the pictures from my wedding in Canada.

  4. Hurricane season in Mexico is from July - November. Most likely hurricanes will be in the later part of the season. It is rainy season from about May - October, but that means very little because it is rainy for a few hours a day and then sunshine. August seems like an ok time to go, because it is warm enough that the rain evaporates very quickly after it has fallen. I am planning to go in September this year which goes to say that it doesn't really matter, because chances are your resort (or your WC at the resort) will have a rainy day plan also, if they are helping you plan your wedding during these months. Just be sure to ask your WC if there is a back up plan because of the rain, and I am sure that you will be fine.
