I got the lanterns from justartifacts.com, they had the best prices (well as far as I found).  We actually didnt light them and they still looked great

The food was actually pretty good.  I stayed at Ocean Blue & Sand earlier this year and Dreams food was much better.

All of my guest absolutely loved the Jellyfish.  We even paid the DJ to stay an hour longer   Several guests told me that The Jellyfish is the nicest venue they have every been to (for weddings).

Dreams Palm Beach is a really nice resort, thats where we stayed.  However i'm very happy with my decision in having everything
 at the Jellyfish.  The ceremonies I saw at Dreams were really pretty but werent very private.

Oh my goodness thats so funny that you were there!  Were you there during the wedding?   Mayte did an amazing job, it was a little dramatic in the begining but it just made the memories that much better   I actually felt really bad for her, she was soooo stressed.

Mel, Jellyfish does not have desserts however Mayte could get desserts from the same bakery she is getting the cake from.  I'm a total dessert person so I just had to have a dessert table.  Everything was delicious, however I did ask for mini creme brulees and it was more like flan lol but it was fine. 

I actually brought the lanters however I dont think you need to, she has a lot of lanterns in all colors that she could use.... plus she has all of mine still   Just let her know if you want them or not.  Liz is right, it isnt needed.  I just wanted to throw in a little more of my color palette. 

I met with Mayte the day I got in.  Meeting with her right away totally helped calm my nerves    

Make sure you have bug spray.... you'll regret it if you dont!

Liz T & JLarruda your weddings came out beautifull!!!  VERY VERY VERY SIMILAR TO MINE, just different colors  Mayte is amazing ladies, she really does care about her brides.  She works extra hard for us   I'll post an real review when I have free time however here are some pictures for the time being.

Just FYI make sure you negotiate with the Vendors.  They always start REALLY high but they will go down This one guy tried to confuse me by having me pay in pesos.... He was basically trying to make me pay $25US for cheap coffee mug. I think i ended up paying $5. 

Not cheesy at all... i think the best favors are ones from the actual destination.   I believe Mama Juana is popular Dominican alcohol, you'll see it everywhere when you get there  Just FYI - Larimar is a Dominican stone, you'll see all the vendors selling Larimar jewelry.  It's really expensive if you try to find it from home, but its pretty affordable in the DR.
