  2. I lied...they're boxes of 48. So 8 packages of 6 tablets. Even better! And I think it was between $5-7 for the box!

The sale ends today though, so if you are interested, hurry in before closing time!

  3. Hi Ladies!

I have been so inspired by everyone's DIY projects that I thought I would share what I've done for my bridesmaids/maid of honor!

I bought the tank tops at Garage (since it's the end of summer everything is super cheap!) and the iron-on rhinestone transfers on Etsy at a store called Rhinestone Wishes. The bottles and ribbon were purchased at Michaels (about $2 each), and the treasure chests and brown paint for them were purchased at Dollarama (about $15 all together).

If you have any questions about them, let me know :) I'm not a creative person so I'm very proud of myself...I'm bracing myself for the next DIY project...Passport Invitations! Should be interesting, to say the least!!

  5. Thanks ladies. I guess my worry is the fact that it's a pickup skirt, so I'm not sure if it will just flatten out after going in the water. Here's a link to the dress: http://www.venusbridal.com/bridals/venus/VE8044

I have heard from 2 drycleaners that they could get it cleaned (my future MIL would like me to wear it at our AHR) and it would be perfect, but the actual dress designer said that there's a pretty good chance it could be ruined.

If I was to purchase a separate dress for the TTD, I would want it to look similar to mine, and I've been very unsuccessful in finding anything. I'm just really hoping I can use my original dress and it won't get totally ruined. Too much to ask maybe, considering the dress I chose?

  6. Hi Everyone,

I have FINALLY found a dress for my April 30, 2012 wedding, that has a skirt made of either Organza or Tulle (can't remember off the top of my head). I am now starting to think about our Trash the Dress shoot, and wondering if anyone knows whether the fabric will be okay in the water, and if it will regain its shape afterwards? I would love to hear from anyone who has any information/advice! Buying a separate TTD dress is always an option, I'm just trying to keep costs down a bit so if we can trash my original dress that would be ideal. Thank you so much in advance :)

  7. I'm a little frustrated by this too, because my WC said that we can only do our rehersal at the buffet and that we aren't able to do it at a restaurant. I wonder what makes every person different...

  8. Hi Everyone,

I've been having some difficulty working with the Travel Agent that was reffered to me by a family member, as the person is unable to find quotes for me for my wedding in April 2012.

I'm wondering if it is unethical for me to ask for quotes from other travel agents? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you :)

  9. Hi ladies. I've been having a hard time waiting to hear back from Awilda (it's been about a week since I've emailed her) and I have a question that maybe you can help me with. I'm trying to figure out if Dreams is for us...I really feel like it is. I'm just wondering if anyone knows, if we get the Ultimate Wedding package would that include a private reception with dinner and dancing, and if there are extra charges involved? Awilda said that it wouldn't cost anything extra if we wanted to upgrade to a buffet but didn't give any further information. I would really appreciate any info!! Thanks in advance!

  10. Hi Acutie,

Just thought I'd update you, Dreams has scrapped that rule about outside photographers and also lifted the day pass fee they used to charge, so you should be okay if you wanted to use Photophil! I have also not heard back from him, but spoke with someone that worked in his office. Apparently he is out of the office and will respond when he's back. The person said that he will be in the Dominican next year on April 28th (not sure how long before and after), and my wedding is on April 30th so I'm hoping to hear back from him soon! Good luck and let me know if you secure a date!

  11. Hello! I'm in the planning stages and trying to decide between Dreams Palm Beach and Majestic Elegance, but I haven't received any information from DPB yet. I'm wondering if anyone knows this: If we book a wedding package that includes the cocktail hour and a silver or gold menu dinner, are those functions private? Also, if we opted to have the dinner on the beach or pool area is it mandatory to pay the buffet fee of $35+ per person or is that included somehow? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much :)

  12. Hi Everyone! We are just starting to plan for our May 2012 wedding and are seriously considering the ME. My only concern is that a reception isn't included with the package. Does anyone know if it is possible to have the private reception at the Wet Bar (the one that is $500/hr and includes sound system, open bar, ect.) but include a buffet for cheaper than the $55/plate? I am trying to keep costs down and we are considering doing dinner at the steakhouse but my FI and I both would prefer to do the dinner/reception at the same place.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

  13. Hi Summafool, I am VERY interested in using photophil as well I just love his pictures!

My only problem is that I haven't booked a date yet (still trying to choose between resorts as I just got engaged a few days ago) and I read on the Dreams Palm Beach Brides facebook page  that they no longer accept photographers from off the resort. Have you heard anything about this? My two top choices were DPB and the Majestic Elegance, but if DPB doesn't allow outside photographers and the ME costs so much for a private reception, I feel like I almost need to start at the beginning in finding a resort. Any suggestions?
