  1. Sharron is gone now???  Who's the new person?  This will be my third coordinator in less than a year.

  2. Congrats and welcome to the board :-)

There's no requirement to book Pastor York.  You just have to contact him directly to find out if he's available on your wedding date.  You pay his fee when you meet with him in person at the resort.  He sent us two vow script samples.  One was contemporary and the other was more religious with biblical references.  We're actually combining aspects of both since we liked them so much.

  3. Yes, he does.  We've booked him for our wedding.  We are doing both the legal and religious ceremony in DR.  We'll have the judge perform the legal ceremony and then Pastor York will perform the religious ceremony immediately after.  His fee is $300.  He's been wonderful to work with and you'll love the sample vows he'll send you to choose from.

Does the Pastor in the DR have a fee like the judge would have?

I got the template from www.ayleebits.com website.  Yes - I'm still a noobie too so I've been trying to get my posts up slowly but surely.

  5. It was a labor of love, but I managed to get it done and crank out 85 of these bad boys.  I purchased the ticket jacket cardstock from Michaels and ordered the magnets from MagnetStreet.  Thanks to the ladies on this forum, I was able to combine some really creative elements from the others to create my own.  Next up are the passport invites...

  6. Hi Ladies icon_wavey.gif. I'm so happy to see some ATL brides :-)  I havent' done boudoir session, but I too would like to do one as a gift to my FI.

Please be sure to include me if you all schedule a group rate.  You can count me in.  I found another photog here in ATL that does it - she's pricey too, but we may be able to negotiate a group rate.  Her website is http://www.elegantexpressions.cindyharterphotography.com/.

I can say from what I've seen on the websites posted that I do like Project Duo.  The light in their photos look a little "softer" than the others.

You'll have the template within a day. Just be aware that with the template, the cover measurements are the same as the pages, so if you want the cover to be a little bigger than the inside pages you'll just have to mess with the outline a little to make them bigger :o) hope that makes sense!

Thanks for the tips.  I bought the template from Aylee awhile back and I'm working on the design now. I had thought about just designing them and sending them off to get them printed, but this give me a little courage to try the printing myself.

  8. Wow...not to turn this into a Yeisy bashing session, but I had the same experience.  It was like pulling teeth to get my date and time confirmed and based on her responses via email I was given the impression I was being a bother huh.gif.

I tried to pass it off as "maybe she's really busy with weddings (middle of June) and stressed out".  Seeing that my wedding is next June, I'm trying to let some time pass before I bombard her with questions.

All I know is that as soon as I get my tentative RSVP count in October - I'm back into asking million questions mode.

  9. Thanks for the info MysTea :-)

I reached out to Pastor York today.  He emailed me a response today and he's available to conduct our ceremony immediately after we do the legal part.  We really wanted to be able to include some more personal/religious vows as well as ensure the ceremony was legal.

He said his fee is $300, but it's not due until we meet with him in person.  He's going to send me some scripts.  He seems soooo nice!

  10. Now that I know a buffet is mandatory on the beach I'm totally rethinking the reception on the beach.  I really want to have a beach reception since we'll be at the gazebo for the ceremony.

We ended up getting a 1:30 ceremony time because it's the only time the judge is available to perform a legal ceremony.  Does anyone know if they allow you to do your own vows after the legal portion is complete?  We wanted to include a sand ceremony as well.

Needless to say (because of the buffet scenario), we're now looking into booking the Jellyfish Restaurant for the reception instead.  I did a search on this site about the venue and the reviews seem to be phenomenal.

Initially we had planned on booking the Ultimate package, but we're getting early guests counts now and anticipating going over the 20 person count with that package.  So now we're thinking we'll just can go ahead and book the "free" wedding package (we're staying for 7 days) and just pay for the reception at another venue.

I originally wanted it earlier, like 4 or 4:30 but I'm warming up to 5:30 :) We've booked Pastor Rick York to do the ceremony (we are doing a symbolic ceremony, getting legally married in Calgary a few weeks before). We've also booked DJ Mannia for our reception in one of the banquet rooms. I originally wanted to have the reception on the beach too, but then you have to do the buffet, and we prefer a sit down dinner. The thing I love about DPB is that you can change so much when you get down there! Nothing seems to be written in stone, which I love, because it's hard to make these decisions without being there!

How many people are you expecting for your wedding? We're hoping for 30-45.

So you absolutely have to have a buffet for a reception on the beach??? I might have to rethink that. Have you seen any photos of a reception in the banquet rooms?

I'm completely new to this! We're planning our wedding in the Dominican in April 2011. We'd really like to have our wedding the Dreams Palm Beach in Punta Cana, but I've sent a few emails to the resort and wedding coordinator and I have not heard anything!! My guests are already asking me about my plans so I'd really like to secure my location and date!! Are there any Dreams Palm Beach brides out there who can provide a contact/email for the wedding coordinator? I'm thinking I may have used the wrong email. Thank-you!!!!
I just booked my wedding at DPB for June 18, 2011. Once you complete the wedding request info on the website, they are usually pretty quick to respond. I've been working with Yeisy and her contact email is [email protected]. Melani and Yeisy seem to be the main coordinators. But once I sent my deposit to secure my date, it honestly took about 3 weeks to get an "official" confirmation because they were waiting on the judge to respond. I was biting my nails, but all is well now. Don't worry -they'll take good care of you :-)
