Hi everyone!

I am getting married in the DR (Cabarete, near Puerto-Plata) next year but not at a hotel. Due to the fact that my fiance is from there and I have lots of friends and family, I can simply not afford to get them all at the resort for the event. Also, we want to have a BIG reception party without bothering anyone with the noise or such. So, I was wondeering if any of you ladies had experience rgarding getting married OUTSIDE of a resort. How did you go for finding flowers, decorations, cake, photographer etc... Even if it's not in the Dominican Republic, any information about 'doing it on your own' would be greatly appreciated. At first it seemed easy, but now I am a little overwhelmed!

Hi ladies!

My name is Maude-Elysa, I am probably your youngest bride-to-be on here!

I was a 'visitor' on this site for a while before I signed... Matter of fact, before I was even engaged I would dream of having a dream destination weddings, and many of the pictures here made me hope my turn would come soon!

I have now been engaged for 4 months and I am planning my DW in Cabarete, Dominican Republic (near Puerto Plata). I decided to introduce myself tonight as I JUST BOUGHT MY DRESS! So I can't hold in place right now and wanted to share it with you ladies as it seems like I am just now realizing that this IS true!! I am getting married either in March or May 2011, but I got great deal on an awesome dress so, I couldn't pass on! Also, it'll be a motivation to only LOSE and not gain any weight!

I am thanking you ladies for all the awesome DIY ideas! I'm sure I'll steal some hehe! Also, I am thanking in advance for the great support & suggestion that you will probably offer me as I've seen offered to other brides on here! I will probably become one of the 'addicted' to this forum and hope I can bring some help to you ladies also!!
