Hi All! My name is Alyssa and I have been engaged for not even two weeks yet and I am already overwhelmed. We are having a destination in Cancun because both of our families are from different areas. I don't really even know where to start but I am an organizer and planner by nature so this is all coming pretty natural to me. I justt need a push in the right directions
First of all, CONGRATULATIONS Alyssa

Hello everyone!
I am planning a wedding October of 2014 at the Riu Palace Pacifico. Just wondering if anyone has any advice?? Maybe ease my stress a little bit! The WC is doing a great job with responding to me, but it's always nice to hear other's advice or experiences!
Thanks in advance.. I'm looking forward to responses!

Some good advice: try to set the end of the ceremony at least one hour before sunset, and you could be blessed your photo shooting by a spectacular sunset on the beach. (sunset info follow this link http://espanol.weather.com/climate/sunRiseSunSet-Cancun-MXQR0138?month=10)

Glad I am not the only one that is not engaged yet, but lurking around in the corners of this forum! I have been with my BF for 9-1/2 yrs, we have bought a house, we are happy as can be. We know we are going to FL to get married. I have so many ideas and yet, I can't put them into action until he decides! Haha. It's soon tho, I can feel it! Fingers crossed! I would much rather skip openly through the forum instead of being the weird girl tip toeing in the darkness!!
Hi! I also cross my fingers for you! Let BDW and our Brides inspire you!

I was just referred to this site by an awesome person & mutual bride-to be that I actually just met in Mexico while doing resort tours. Go figure that although we live in separate cities, we are both from the same hometown, Small World!
Anywhooo...My fiance and I have been engaged for three months now and are in the beginning stages of planning. Everything was slow paced until our resort tour trip last month and now it seems as if the flood gates have opened!
Any suggestions on how to find balance and not be consumed with the planning, never ending questions from guest, etc? We do have a DW coordinator from DestinationWeddings.com which is a great help but ultimately trying to decide every little detail has me needing a vaca!
Congratulation Lilly and welcome to the BDW forum

Hi all!
I'm new here- only got engaged a month ago, and haven't even set a date yet!
But I've decided I HAVE to go with a destination wedding for two reasons:
1. I'm a soppy, sentimental romantic! I want sand and sunshine at the ceremony, and a real sunset to have my first dance to!
2. Most importantly- a destination wedding will force me to do some work to...
FIT INTO MY BIKINI!
Is anybody else on the wedding fitness train? I'm new here, so any suggestions of threads or forums to join would be great!
Looking forward to getting to know you all
Emma
Hi Maggie! Welcome to the forum
As Mexican and proud of it, I can only advice you the Riviera Maya. Everything you do here will remain reflected on a wonderful picture that is our ancient culture, nature, beaches, cenotes, unique in the world, and for sure you will be blessed with a magnificent sunset.
Fitting in your Bikini it will come by itself when you begin with your wedding planning, it is the best training.
This site is plenty of information, specially webinars are really useful.
All the best! sincerely

Hi all Brides and Grooms to-be!
It is such an unforgettable experience, which year by year is almost turning into a must for all our Brides, but it also really fits for a romantic session
Two different options would be possible: Beach and Underwater.
The latter takes place in total safety into a cenote (underwater caves in Mexico, unique in the world).
Please consider that your dresses won't be trash since the session takes place in freshwater and may not create any obstacles for you. Sessions are funny and pictures will be gorgeous. Of course you do not need to be a diver, since all takes place in very shallow water, outside in the nature or just by the edge. Nowhere else (cenotes) you could have this chance, and I'm pretty sure you will look stunning.

Hi ladies- I have finally narrowed down April 2015 for my wedding! YAY! Now to decide on the resort... My TOP choice would be The Royal in Playa del Carmen hands down. However, the prices are a little pricey for that resort and I'm trying to be mindful of my guests. I am considering Excellence Riviera Cancun and Secrets Silversands as alternatives. I've heard good things and they actually priced a little lower.
Here is what I've read/gathered this far. If anyone has viisted these resorts or considered these themselves, I'd love to hear you opinion!
ERC
Pros- decent price, wedding packages seem to be reasonable, fun resort with good night life, no towel cards to hassle with, no reservations required for the restaurants, modern/nice rooms
Cons- los of seaweed on the beach, enforced dress code at restaurants (could be good or bad)
SSS
Pros- a little more private, new/modern rooms,
Cons- rocky beach, not a lot of reviews to read
Thanks for your help!
Congratulation Aberg!
Although you have time, please avoid feeling overwhelmed, don't let wedding plannin get you down. As they said before both resorts are really comfortable.

Hey everyone!
So glad to finally be in the planning stage. My fiance and I got engaged in January 2013, and wanted to wait until he was done school to get married. We decided on a destination wedding since the majority of our family has to travel to see us get married.
I'm thinking Riviera Maya, but I don't have too much information on the area just yet. We do have an appointment with a travel agent next month to talk about it. So if anyone has any suggestions that would be awesome
Also our wedding date is June 20th, 2015.
Can't wait to to talk to everyone!
January 31, 2015 is our wedding date! We are getting married at Now Sapphire in Riviera Maya Can't wait to be able to get all the prices for the flights and rooms for my guests. I am currently working with a TA but she is on vacation until the 18th lol
First of all, CONGRATULATIONS CurlyKristen and Ruthehk and all Brides to be!

Hola!
I am newly engaged and my fiance and I are are getting married on February 21st, 2015! I was so overwhelmed at first with all of the different destinations and resorts to choose from, the more I looked the more confused I got! I finally just decided to take the plunge and chose Moon Palace in Cancun, Mexico.
I am looking for anyone who has been to Moon Palace for a vacation or any fellow brides who have been married there or are going to be married there, any advice would be greatly appreciated! I am looking for any advice on ceremony set up, is it worth getting a specific wedding collection or just go for the complimentary package and customize it yourself. Also looking for advice on wedding reception and which extras are worth adding! All in all i'm just looking for anyone who has any good advice for me regarding weddings at Moon Palace! Thanks!!!
First of all, CONGRATULATIONS thoegh!
