  1. I have been doing a series of peels and micro derm. I have had two so far. She gives me a facial, puts the glycolic peel on, and then microderm. Oh - and then this light therapy thing. It's only been $75 a treatment....but well worth it. I can tell not only are some of my darker spots lightening, but my skin is smoother, pores are smaller...and dare I say...some of my fine lines are gone?!!!!!! If you are thinking about it I would go with a glycolic first.

  2. I totally feel your pain. This kind of a situation is a large part of why we even decided to do a DW wedding. We were having an ATW and this was happening to us. A girl that used to have a crush on my fiance and whom I didn't know had the nerve to send me a congratulatory message of Myspace saying "I had better be invited!". You had better be invited? Are you kidding me? As for accomodating all of those "extra" people...where I see that being maybe the easiest thing to do...why should you have to compromise on YOUR day? Aboslutely not. I would simply tell your FI how you feel, and send invites only to the people you originally intended on coming. And I LOVE the wedding crasher t-shirt idea. LOL

  3. Is there anyone that decided not to have a reception? We are getting married in the chapel at noon, and thought of having a cocktail hour directly afterwards and then a reception on the beach or at the dolphin pool at about 6 that night. But quite honestly, it's a getting a bit pricey and stressful - which is why I decided on a destination wedding anyway, less stress and less money. Has anyone simply had a cocktail hour and dinner world cafe? How did it go?

Hi Lindsey! I am getting married at Dreams Tulum April 19th! Congratulations....if you run across any questions feel free to contact me and I will be happy to help if I can! -Dannah
  5. I started out with a budget of $1500, but wanted to get my dress cheaper if possible. I found two dresses that I loved (One I like the front neckline, and one I liked the back) so I talked to a woman in Houston about making my dress. I even went and met with her for measurements, and she was only charging $750. I started getting nervous about paying for a dress I had never seen or even tried on so I went and tried the two dresses on that I was having her design mine from. I LOVED it on. Then I got home and my sister had emailed me the pictures....they were horrible!!!!

So I began the bridal shop search. Finally I found a dress that I really like for $750., which I was quite happy with but my Mother asked me to go to one more shop. And there I found it. The most flattering dress on me out of all of them. For $399!!!! I paid for half and my mother paid for half....so in all I paid $216 for my dress. I couldn't be happier about that. I will be buying another short flirty dress for the reception.

  6. I had heard that the chapel could be quite hot. Our ceremony is at noon so it won’t have had a chance to really bake just yet.I just spoke with Aurora and got some very useful information I hadn't seen anywhere else. We originally had wanted the 3pm slot in the chapel, but by the time we booked it had been taken, leaving only noon on April 19th. Initially we decided that this wouldn't be a big deal & we would simply meet in after in one of the bars or perhaps do a cocktail hour afterwards. After thinking about it further I decided I did want to have a reception with music, a first dance. Those are things I didn't want to lose out on!

Aurora just told me that the only time available is noon unless they have a cancellation. Which means we will have to print our invitations with that time and should there be a cancellation when we arrive, notify the guests of the change once they arrive. Now...on to the interesting part. When asking her about reception options Aurora told me that in order to reserve Seaside Grill or El Patio, even if you pay the $750 private event fee, you MUST have 45 or more guests for it to be closed to the other resort guests. Has anyone heard this before? I hadn't seen that. In fact I am pretty certain that I have seen Brides on here with parties of 20 able to reserve them.

She did confirm that having a reception on the beach, poolside, or lobby terrace would not include the $750 private event fee but that you do have to have the silver or gold menu served ($55-$65 pp depending).

She also told me that we could have a cocktail hour immediately following the ceremony...or it would have to be 5-6.

For Brides that are getting married at noon at Dreams Tulum she said there is a lunch option but I didn't inquire further as that really isn't what I want.

The reception cannot begin before 6.

Noon is probably the best option as far as tempature....the hottest part of the day is 2-4 (or at least the most sweltering!).

So what I am thinking we will do is have ceremony at noon, then have everyone meet at one of the bars immediately following (any suggestions?)

After some mingling Ron & I will go to take our pictures while our guests have a late lunch, relax by the pool, or enjoy a few hours of rest. At about 5 pm we will begin a casual cocktail hour, followed by a private reception on the beach with Dinner & Dancing. I had decided on two dresses anyway…my bridal gown and a short white party dress…so this gives me an excellent excuse for it :)

  7. Ok. I am so confused by this site. I posted questioned last night to one of the threads...and now I can't even find the thread....this is the only one I can find. When I search it lists three threads but each of them have like 300 pages! How to I find my post to see if my questions have been answered? I am so confused by this whole thing of posting and finding!

  8. I have been searching for about three hours now and haven't found answers to the questions that I have, hopefully someone can help! The only communication I have gotten from DT was from Aurora when I originally asked for info. She hasn't responded to one of my questions or emails since then, AND I HAVE ALREADY PAID MY DEPOSIT! Luckily I have an awsome travel agent who helped me get the deposit among other things...so my questions are these...

    1. Any suggestions on what type of ipod docking station to buy and approx. cost?

    2. Has anyone actually been able to change the time of their wedding? We got a noon slot and I'm not extremely happy with it. That leaves a large amount of time between the ceremony and cocktails & reception. And if we did them directly after our guests would be in the blazing Mexican Sun.

    3. We are doing the free Paradise package....does anyone know if the $750 fee applies to a beach or poolside reception? I had seen that MAYBE it does not if you pay for the silver menu at $55 pp.

    4. Did anyone not have a dance floor that had a poolside/beach reception? I really don't want to pay $600 for a dance floor!

    5. I don't want the cake thatis included in the package we have. I would like a two tier, tres leches cake. Does anyone know what this upgrade will cost?

    6. In the event that we are unable to change our ceremony time...any suggestions for cocktail/reception immediately following.....or at the very least what to do with the time in between?

    7. Has anyone just for gone the reception all together, had an early ceremony & cocktail hour....and a dinner at World Cafe? This is the only solution I can come up with if we cannot change our ceremony time.

Sorry for all of the questions....we are really trying to get out formal invites and I cannot get Aurora to respond to me. I even emailed Landy as I had heard great things on here about her. Still no reply. My TRAVEL AGENT is now trying to get all my questions answered, but not really at the pace I would like.

    All information is appreciated!
