Lori, I am looking for the same thing. The Hyatt is amazing and they have exactly what you are looking for. The only thing is that the prices are very expensive. But if money is not as much of an issue, you should definitely check it out. The Renaissance seems to fit but I don't know if they have an outdoor location that is not on the sand. Let me know what you find.
  2. My fiance and I just started looking into Aruba for our wedding and we are getting so excited because everything looks so beautiful and we like the fact that there are things for our guests to do outside of the sun and beach.

However, it is important to us to have a church wedding and I wanted to know if anyone has done this before and if so, can you please send me any information you may have? I know it is difficult to organize from overseas but I thought we could all help eachother with our experiences.

    Thanks!

  3. The chapel with the marble floor and the glass walls is Our Lady of Guadalupe in the Riviera Maya. It is at the Gran Caribe Real. Here is the link:

It looks beautiful and everyone raves about the church. I just wanted a more intimate location for the reception. I don't like the fact that the resort is one of those huge mega AI. If that doesn't bother you, it looks amazing!

  4. We stayed at this resort two years ago but we did not stay at the Sabor. The place was great. The beach was a little small but there was nice sand which in Cozumel is not always easy to find as you will see. The Sabor is set off on its own and back a ways from the beach. I was glad we didn't stay there because it was so secluded and you had to walk a bit to get to the beach. We stayed in the main part of the resort and had a place right overooking the beach. It was amazing. Would definitely go back. The food was also good at the buffets. The restaurants were just ok.

  5. Cozumelwoohoo - which villas are you renting for your wedding. We are looking to do the same and have the wedding at the villa as well. We are currently looking at Villa Iguanas Ranas and Villa Ventana. I would love to hear any advice or tips.

  6. Does anyone have any info on any villas in Cozumel. We are trying to find a place to host our wedding in June 2010 for about 30 people. We are looking into renting three villas, Villa Iguanas Ranas (two next door to eachother which we would rent as one) and Villa Renas which is supposedly 200 meters away. I wanted to know if anyone knows of these places or other villas that they can recommend on the island. We wanted someplace private where everyone could sleep and hang out for the week. The only thing I am worried about is that the description says that it is on a white sandy beach but none of the pictures show the beach so I am concerned it is all just rock.

Another place we were looking at is Casa Gordon which looks like it has a really nice beach but is too small for all of our guests. Does anyone know if there is another villa nearby or next door that we could rent out as well?

Please pass along any info you may have.

    Thanks!

  7. Does anyone have any information about Villas on Cozumel? We are planning a wedding for about 30 people in June 2010 and are looking into renting out three places, Villa Iguanas Ranas (two villas together) and Villa Ventana. They are all next door to eachother and we need all three to have enough rooms for our guests. I wanted to know if anyone has any info about these places. I would ideally like a place on a sandy beach which these say that they are although in the pictures they do not show the beach which makes me nervous.

We also looked at Casa Gordon which looks beautiful but it is too small to accomodate all of our guests. Does anyone know if there are other villas next door to or within walking distance of Casa Gordon?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

  8. Hi everyone! I knew planning a wedding was going to be difficult but I didn't think making the first step would be so hard. I have been engaged for about 10 months now and am really just starting to look for a location. We both live in NY with families in Europe so were thinking of doing a wedding in Croatia. We are planning for June 2010 with about 100 guests. If anyone has any help I would really appreciate it. I am supposed to be enjoying the planning but finding a place is so hard especially since Croatia is not as common as the Caribbean. Please help!
