  1. I am also getting married in old San Juan and looking for a restaurant to host a reception at. We are thinking something somewhat casual with about 40 people including the bridal party. Did you ever decide what to do for your reception? Anyone out there have any suggestions?

  2. The fiance and I are planning a beach ceremony in San Juan, Puerto Rico and we found it very difficult to find bridesmaid dresses that we liked. Almost everything was either dark (which didn't fit with the "theme") or was such a heavy material that the girls might sweat to death. Eventually we did find something that was as bright and airy as we were hoping. We found it at Davids Bridal (which was great because we have six bridesmaids who range in size). Anyway, here is the picture from the website. Hope you like it!

  3. Hey all,

The fiance' and I just booked the San Juan Marriott Resort for our ceremony. I am wondering if anyone has hosted their wedding there or stayed there and could tell me about their experiences. We will be taking a trip down there before the wedding either way, but any input is appreciated. I'll be sure to let you all know my impressions and experiences after we visit and after the wedding.

    Thanks,

    Courtney

  4. Hey,

I searched and didn't find anything addressing the issue of bridesmaid dressses in warm climates. I have just started looking at bridesmaid dresses with my girls, amd I am wondering if long dresses are approperate for a beach wedding in Puerto Rico in mid June. Having said this, I will be wearing a long dress. I think that I am leaning twards some sort of sundress for them but Im not sure. Do any of you have any sugestions?

  5. I am so glad that I am not the only one who was worried about this!

We are planning a Puerto Rico wedding for next June. In PR we can have legal ceremony but it might be stressful figure out all of the details and stuff from Michigan. Also, to get married in PR we would need to have a blood test within 10 days of the wedding. Since Iâ€m a HUGE wimp about blood tests, we are considering a courthouse ceremony and just not telling anyone. But, I am also a loudmouth and I wouldnâ€t want people to feel tricked or think that they are flying down to PR for nothing. Maybe I'll just suck it up and do the real deal in PR.

  6. Hey Natural!

First let me say CONGRATS! Secondly, I am also in the early planning stages of a PR wedding. I am looking at either June 19 or 20 2010 depending on what we decide to do. We are cruising on Royal Caribbean leaving the 20th and trying to decide if we should plan the wedding through the cruise line or on land somewhere.

I think right now we are leaning towards finding a resort or planner who can help up plan something the 19th on land. We are looking to have between 40-50 people and keep everything pretty casual. Maybe a beachy wedding and then rent out a restaurant and pick up the bill.

  7. Hello all!

My name is Courtney and I am planning a June 2010 destination wedding for Puerto Rico.

I have been engaged since December but Brian (future husband) and I only decided on the destination wedding a couple weeks ago.

We had planned on taking a huge family cruise and decided to get married prior to the cruise. The cruise is Royal Caribbean leaving out of San Juan on Sunday June 20 2010 so the wedding will likely be either June 19th on the island or June 20th on the boat.

I am really looking forward to getting to know all of you and getting some incite into destination wedding planning!

    Thanks!

    Courtney
