Hi all. I'm getting married at Dreams Palm Beach in May of 2010. I'm really stressed because I can't do a site visit but I have so many questions. First, I see that I, along with many DPB brides want to see pics of the loction. Chelymo, you said that the WC sent you pics. Would you mind sending them to me @ [email protected]? That would help a-lot. Second, does anyone know who the photographer at DPB is? And has anyone seen their work? I'm debating as to whether I should hire my own photographer, I want awsome pictures and haven't been getting a-lot of answers from the resort. Last, can anyone tell me about the flower choices? I want to make sure they have options that match my decor. PLEASE HELP!!!! Thanks!

I haven't been to Rose Hall Suites but my cousin had her wedding in Montego Bay at the Ritz Carlton Rose Hall and I have to say Jamacia was beautiful!! We had a wonderful time. I'm having my wedding in Mexico though- probably bc I don't want to be a copy cat and I've always had my sites set on Cabo. Both locations are nice but I would have to say that you have to do what's in your heart. Also, if your having a large group look at the economic side as well. I think Mexico is a-litte more economical for your guest. Make sure you consider Hotel polices, service, and accomodations as well. Some resorts have riduculus polices for weddings. That really helped me to make a final decision on the resort that I fianlly chose. Hope this helps!!

Also you can only get into the dreams timeshares thru RCI, so I know because my family almost traded into the wrong resort with a very similar name with interval.

Dreams brides, this helps reduce the $80 day of fee for guests who don't stay on property!

I know that you left this message a-long time ago but I was wondering what you meant about reducing the $80/day when using the time share. Does the use of the time-share take you out of the responsibilty of the day pass. I'm wondering b/c I have a time share that i'de like to use during my wedding. Thanks -

Congrats on your upcoming wedding!! Im also getting married in Cabo next in April of next year. I know how frustrating it can be to try to figure all of this out and you can't find any answers! I was going to have my wedding at Riu but I went with Dreams instead. Although I havn't been to either, I have heard that Riu is a beautiful resort. I'm sure you will have an excellent time. What I have gathered is that Riu charges an additional $500 for a private reception (I don't think its an option for the ceremony). The $500 only covers drinks if your reception is at one of the resturants so if you have it on the Terrace, you should be fine. Howver, if you choose a place that is not connected to a resturant, you will be charged pp for food and/or drinks (I think it $10 pp per hour for drinks). I'm not sure how muschit is for food per person (somewhere around $20 to $30 pp). I hope this helps. -

Hi Kerry-
I'm getting married in Cabo mid April of next year and the issue of weather has definately been on my mind. Although your wedding seemed to be awesome, I'm from Chicago and if I want wind, I can have that here! Was this the kind of weather that you experienced the whole time you were there? Would you recommend an April wedding in Cabo? It's still early enough for me to change my date. Whats your advice? -

About the cocktail hour and hors d'oevres, is that something that you add to the dinner menu. If so, what is the average pp (if you know?) -

i have done groups to cabo of more than 100 people so they can accomodate larger weddings...i had 56 people at mine. -
Thanks everyone for the warm BDW welcome! I'm so happy I found this site. Krebsler- its great to see a fellow Chicago/Cabo bride! You said that going a la carte is the way for large groups. I'm still waiting to hear back from Yesica, but what is the price per person for a la carte? I'm confused. Is there a different price for a plated dinner versus buffet? Also, is there a different price for guest not staying at the hotel (not all-inclusive)? I was told that there is day pass that must be purchased for guest not staying at the hotel. But is that in addition to their meals? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you Tammy and Ana. Your responses have really helped to ease my mind. I've been to other parts of Mexice (Cancun) and can remember my room always having a mildewy smell. I wnat my guest to be comfortable and have a great time celebrating our wedding day with us. I have so many questions and I'm sure I'll have more before my "big day!" You guys are great. I'm very thankfuul that I found this site.

Thank you so much Anna! I've been trying to get this question answered for at least a week. Was the set-up fee all you had to pay pp or was there something additional? I'm having at least 60 guest and paying $60 to $70 pp for additional guest (outside of my package) plus day passes for those not staying at Dreams, isnt up my ally. Thats why I choose to do a DW in the first place- to save $$$!!!!

Wow- your review was great! I'm a new Cabo bride and I was wondering whether I should choose Dreams or Riu Palace. You made Dreams sound like a "dream!" What were some of the issues you ran into at Riu? Also- you talked about wind. How windy was it? I'm getting married on April 17, 2010 in and that's a concern for me. How was the weather?

Hi, My name is Tricia. I'm newly engaged (Valentines Day!) and I am hoping to get married in Cabo April 17, 2010. I'm having difficulty deciding on Dreams or Riu. I've heard great things about Dreams but I'm having a party of about 60 traveling with me to Cabo and Dreams packages only accomodated parties up to 20. Rui seems nice and their packages accomodate 50 but I hate the 80% rule. Also, I can't really tell from the pics which hotel is nicer. Does anyone have any info on either that could help me make my decision?

Hi Krebsler and Ana-
Your pics were AWESOME!!! Thanks so much for posting them! They were probably the most helpful that I've seen on the site. I am interested in your trips to Dreams bc I am still quite torn bt Dreams and Riu. After some of the terrible stories I've read about Riu services, I'm leaning more toward Dreams. But I know that Dreams is older and I want to the best for my day (April 17, 2010). A couple of questions, if you don't mind
1) How clean and updated were the rooms? Did they offer toiletries for the guest? Would you consider them outdated? Do you have pics of the rooms? I really don't want any musty, mildewy, outdated facility for my wedding.
2) Did you visit Riu while you were in Cabo? If so, how does it measure up in terms of quality and service?

I'm reading several different posts and I'm confused. I am purchasing a wedding package that includes a "silver" dinner for twenty guests. Is there som additional "set-up" fee that I'm not aware of? Yesica never mentioned that in her emails. In addition, what is the charge for additional guest and do outside guests have to purchase a pass to attend the wedding? If so- how much?

I'm new to BDW and based on your reveiw, I have decided to contact the TA you mentioned. I wanted to know whether there was any extra chare for the dinner on the veranda at Portofino. If so how much? Was it part of AI? I'm looking to have a welcome or rehersal dinner for my guest. Thanks!
