Thanks everyone! It's really hard to just do what you want and to not worry about everyone else- !

Is it in bad taste to purposely plan a destination wedding not that far in advance? My FI and I are not really into waiting 10 months or a year, but we also don't want to be rude!
I was thinking either Vegas or Cabo (I live in California) in 3-4 months.
Most of the posts I've read through say to send STD's 8-10 months or more in advance!
What do you guys think?
Thanks!

Thanks guys- anyone know how to change your user name? For some reason mine shows my full e-mail address. Thanks!

Hi Everyone
I am calling myself a super newbie because I have been lurking on wedding forums (the knot, etc.) since I got engaged over a year ago, but this is the first one I have actually joined and posted to!
I am still unsure of my wedding date and location. A super traditional wedding at home stresses me out majorly, so I am starting to think a small destination wedding is for me.
Maybe Cabo or Hawaii sometime this year?
Thanks for letting me get ideas from all of you, hopefully when I plan my wedding I can return the favor to someone!
Sam
Have you heard of Casa Madrona in Sausalito,CA.?

Hi Drea,
I also live in Sausalito, and I was speaking to the catering manager at the Casa Madrona just last week about their pricing and availability. Small world!
I will try to post the pricing info for you- let me know if it works I've never posted attachments before!
Also, just so you know:
-there is not a view of the golden gate bridge from the Casa Madrona it is a spectacular bay/sf city view, but no golden gate bridge.
-they do have a lovely outdoor terrace for ceremonies, but the average temp in the summertime is usually quite cold and windy/foggy. Only sporadically does it ever get above ~60-65 degrees.
Check out this site for weather info:

Let me know if you have any questions- the Casa Madrona is a perfect place to get married for a smaller group.
