eeks I'm sorry Allyson - same thing happened with a lot of our guests from LAX on Delta (who partnered with Mexicana) - our problem was they didn't inform anyone till a week before the wedding. I'm glad they let people know ahead of time for yours but it still sucks big time.

Well, having been to both and having my wedding at Dreams, Grand Velas is a million times nicer. The problem is having your guests pay for Grand Velas. Their prices are very very expensive for rooms. We wanted people to be able to afford our wedding which is why we chose Dreams. If you want more people to come, I'd say Dreams and then honeymoon at Grand Velas.

Hi Kimberly, if you include everything (favors, DJ, coordinator, transportation, dance floor, cake, food, decorations, etc. etc. etc) I'd say about $230 per person. I'm really guessing here though and that doesn't include the fireworks as I'm not sure how much those were since they were a surprise.

Hi all! I'm selling my Alvina Valenta wedding dress if anyone is interested. Purchased for $3000, selling for $900 OBO.

I will throw in the floor length veil which I purchased new for $350. It matches the dress perfectly, it just has a small hole in it.

The dress is Style 9612, Color Oyster (or off white). The dress is Size 10, or street size 6. I am 5'10 and the dress fit me perfectly with flats on. The only alterations done were in the bust to fit a 34C. This can be taken out again. Dress comes with detachable snap on train.

The reason I'm selling it for such a good price is because it is dirty on the bottom of the dress and the dry cleaner could not get it out. To get rid of this entirely, you would have to hem the dress 1" or 2".

I haven't stayed there but we did go visit because we stayed at Casa Velas for our honeymoon. The place is amazing. Any wedding or stay their would be fantastic.

Don't count on upgrades girls as Aut said...Dreams is HORRIBLE about upgrades. They will probably randomly upgrade people but it is always in the same tower...and it is definitely really random.

IMO Preferred tower is worth the extra price

We had no problems at all...I felt very safe and so did all our guests last November.

We didn't pick the readings until the day before our wedding. I think Father Peterson leaves for the summer, but I'm not sure exactly when that is.

Songs, we did Ave Maria, Canon in D, Bridal March....hmm I can't remember the rest!

totally worth it. When we factored in the cost of a local photographer vs. flying one down it was not much more money. I recommend it if you find someone you love!

you can get coverage in Mexico on your US cell phone for not much $...give your US phone company a call and see what they offer

I debated this for a long time and finally chose the Church wedding. I felt it was really romantic and meant so much to be able to be married in the Catholic Church. Now I really had the best of both worlds though, because we had the reception after on the beach. This was great for us and we really got to do both.
