Excellence Riviera gave us the option of me staying in my own room the night before or having a spare room the day of the wedding to get ready. We chose to have the room the day of the wedding so my wife could get ready all day and have the room to herself and her girls. The boys and I were then able to get ready in a completely empty room and "prepare" for the wedding as boys do...

Yeah we used the LCD "throwies" in place of candles in our paper lanterns. Felt a little safer knowing we had the open bar too... The auction for all of our stuff is still going on if anyone is interested...

For the cocktail hour/reception we went ahead and brought an IPOD and speaker dock. It worked out well. We didn't want to spend any extra. I don't think most people even would've noticed if there was music or not.

I just wanted to recommend Octavio Montes as well. He was the photographer we hired and this is his site. He's very nice and very professional. We actually hired him a week before our wedding. We decided if we could find an affordable guy we would take him. We did his 4 hour package from 4-8 pm. He showed up at 3 pm ready to go and stayed until a little after 8 for no extra charge. The package we ordered let us pick out 110 pictures all of them that he took and he printed them on 6 x 8.5 inch photo paper. He then gave us the complete set of all of the pics on 2 dvd's for us to keep. All of that for $770. After seeing what other people cost I thought this was a steal.

I'm at the Excellence Riviera right now. We just had our symbolic wedding this past Tuesday, June 16. We did the Love Package (Silver Package). We added no extras except for 2 guests since the max is 20 total people. Here is the link to the photographers pics that we hired. They'll be up for 13 days.

We head to Cancun tomorrow morning. Hoping to be on the beach by noon. We're suppose to meet with Veronica tomorrow, but she said she might be too busy since there is a wedding tomorrow too. As long as I'm on the beach, I can wait a little bit.

I've heard that if you book photos directly through the photographer, you can get a discount. Does anyone have the "real" prices? Also, who is the photographer included in the wedding packages? Does he work through a company or only the resort? We're just trying to decide if we should upgrade our photo package or not. Thanks.

We head to the Excellence in 8 days... Crazy how fast it creeped up on me...

Yeah we really don't want to spend a lot of money just for some background music. I have the list of additional items you can get. Is the speaker system really just some speakers and it costs $265? Maybe I'll just get my laptop out and press play on ITUNES.

How does the reception/dinner music work at ERC? I know Veronica told me to just bring a cd for the ceremony, but I haven't gotten details about the reception. Any clues?

What is the website for the Virtual dj? Or what was the company that makes it? Thanks.

Trying to stay budget friendly, we are just going to use the resort photographer... And of course all of our friends and family. Between everyone we should get some good pics.

We are having trouble finding some favors for the guys in our group? Any ideas on things they might use? We are doing koozies, snacks, and medicines for sure...

Did I also read somewhere regarding bringing a laptop? Do you have to pay a custom tax on that too since it's obviously over $300?

I had just paid off the trip in full and then within the week did the rebook. According to the vendor it will take 2 to 3 weeks for the refund to take affect. I hope it's soon since I now have both trips booked on the same card with payment to my credit card company coming up.

It was all in a package deal with our travel agent. He ended up booking us with a company that was different than who we originally booked with back in November. It's a cancel anytime insurance that gets you all your money back minus the cost of the insurance.
