We did a canopy tour through Los Veranos because we got a good deal and were on a time budget. Otherwise we would have done the Outdoor Adventure with Vallarta Adventures. The ziplines were a total blast and I recommend doing one of them while you are there.
My mom & Aunt (both retired & 50+) did the zipline & they had a blast. My Aunt especially liked the cute guys that did the tour. lalala.gif

And this isn't even technically my 'legal' one which should be here in two months, but I'm taking it to him anyways. So much effort. I now have it changed at the bank, who brought up all sorts of domino like issues (cheques being written to me in maiden name, me writing cheques with maiden name, not matching my visa with my drivers... ick.) Just want to get it all out of the way.
Strange, mine only cost $50. Interesting that they gave you a list of names. When I went to the Expressway in my area, they gave me the contact information for Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia and said the translator has to be registered by ICBC. I chose the closest one to me who's rate is $0.15/word with a minimum charge of $50. Our wedding certificate only had 192 words (yes I counted).

If cost is important to you, I'd check around. I also went to the Service BC office in my area to change my DL. I received my new one in less than 5 business days.

I also took my notarized translation document to my bank and they accepted it without any problems. I'm thinking now that it wasn't needed to be notarized but I wanted to be on the safe side. I ordered new cheques and changed my name for everything, including my VISA, but I'm still waiting for that one.

You will always be Jane (maiden name)...but you will be Jane (married name) too - if that makes any sense!
LOL!! I just realized NOW that you quoted me! Wow am I out of it.
    Sorry about that!!

Ladies, have a lookie at my post here & here with regards to name changing/translation. The BC Vital Statistics Agency said they needed a notarized translated MC but the insurance corporation only needs the MC translated by a "registered" translator?!?! WTF?? Not sure about what Service Canada requires yet. At least the certified translation will only be $50 and not another $100!!

The justice of the peace said it takes approx 10 weeks to process but she didn't say whether i had to apply or not. I really don't want to change my name on my birth certificate, but i was not born it ontario which i thought made a difference. Can any one clue me in, I really would like to get this name change done, if i only could figure out where to start!!
You may want to check out Online Services for Birth, Marriage and Death Certificates at the Service Ontario website. I'm not changing my BC because I was born with that family name.
  5. I found out today that our provincial insurance corporation does not accept notarized copies of the marriage certificate to change my name, only translations from a SPECIFIC organization The Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia (S.T.I.B.C.). Other brides in Canada may want to check out this website to link to your home province translators.

The Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia (S.T.I.B.C.) was incorporated in 1981. It is a non-profit professional association and an affiliate of the Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters Council (CTTIC), the umbrella organization for the associations of translators and interpreters in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Québec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, the Yukon and Nunavut. CTTIC is a member of the FIT (Fé©ration Internationale des Traducteurs).
It may be different in other provinces, but at least it's a start. There's also links for translators in the USA & elsewhere on this page.
  6. Wow, where do I start...

With only five weeks before our wedding and no photographer booked, Enrique confirmed he was able to take us as clients for our wedding. He sent us the contract and answered all my questions, which were never-ending. He was very kind and understanding; a clear professional. He obviously dealt with nervous brides like me before.

The pictures are breathtaking and everyone who has seen them LOVES them!! Tim & I are not the type of people who "pose" for pictures. We were grateful that Enrique guided us to create the amazing images. He said to trust him, and we did unequivocally. We also did not expect to receive the albums, so it was a joy to open the package once it finally arrived. I can't wait to show the video to my father who could not make it to Mexico. Unfortunately part of the disc skips, so I'm waiting to see if he can switch it for one that doesn't skip. I will update this once I have more information.

This is truly the most important day of our lives and he managed to capture it for us to treasure for years to come. I hope to take more pictures on our wedding anniversary with Enrique.

I understand this would be EM Wedding's first review on BDW. While I'm not the greatest writer, I'm willing to answer any questions that members may have.

Also, I thought I read somewhere that you asked us to PM you if we want to see your pics. Are you going to email all your pics or is there a link to the website for viewing? I am really excited to see your pictures. If you had to choose a photographer again, would you use them again?
If Enrique is still doing photography in 10 or more years and we're in Mexico for our anniversary, then ABSOLUTELY he's be our first choice, budget permitting of course!! msnwink.gif

I was going to hold back on the review until I've seen the final product, which will be tomorrow!!! The package was received by a co-worker in another part of my building (at work obvs) but he didn't think to call me so I could get it. He likely didn't know that I was waiting so long for my WEDDING PICTURES!!! censored.gif

Due to the public nature of this forum, I'm not going to post the gallery links DIRECTLY on the forum. If any members want to see the pictures, I can PM the links to them. The only thing I ask is that people not forward them outside the BDW forum via external email. It is also very likely that Enrique will have a few pictures on his blog: EM Weddings Blog

Given that I haven't seen the pictures yet, I would absolutely use Enrique again based on my experience with him & his assistants so far. I will post more when I do my quasi-review.

smile159.gif Yeaaa the wedding pictures are hereeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!
