I've been married for 5 months, 3 weeks & 5 days, and FINALLY my government health care name is being changed!! Only passport is left but I'm not eager to change it, because of the cost & how long the dang form is. lol
(OMG I just realized it's almost been 6 months!!)

We did a canopy tour through Los Veranos because we got a good deal and were on a time budget. Otherwise we would have done the Outdoor Adventure with Vallarta Adventures. The ziplines were a total blast and I recommend doing one of them while you are there. -
DH, MIL & I had previously talked about an AHR in the summer. Now that my new niece has arrived, the idea has been put to the back burner. I think I'm okay with that for now.

Love!!
Mojitos?

We've been blogged!!! Except we didn't get married in Los Cabos, it was Puerto Vallarta. Oh well, what can you do!
I'm in the process of watching the other DVD's he sent to replace the one that skips. So far so good!

If cost is important to you, I'd check around. I also went to the Service BC office in my area to change my DL. I received my new one in less than 5 business days.
I also took my notarized translation document to my bank and they accepted it without any problems. I'm thinking now that it wasn't needed to be notarized but I wanted to be on the safe side. I ordered new cheques and changed my name for everything, including my VISA, but I'm still waiting for that one. -
I love it! It's beautiful!

Sorry about that!! -
Woo-hoo!!
Did my DL, SIN card, both banks & car insurance today!! I have to fill out a whole passport application again and GO to the office!! I'm SOOOOO tired of long & slow lineups!!
Oh ya, here's a tip... Before you go to change your ID etc., make sure you practice your new signature!! Practice, practice, practice!!

Ladies, have a lookie at my post here & here with regards to name changing/translation. The BC Vital Statistics Agency said they needed a notarized translated MC but the insurance corporation only needs the MC translated by a "registered" translator?!?! WTF?? Not sure about what Service Canada requires yet. At least the certified translation will only be $50 and not another $100!!

I packed some of my OOT bag stuff down in a small suitcase and purchased other items in PV. Remember to bring photocopies of the receipts, just in case.
-
I know this forum can be overwhelming, but there are lots of helpful threads about photographers in PV. Have you tried doing a search?
Also, when you find one, don't be afraid to ask for a different package that fits your budget. They might be able to work with you to find a compromise. That's what I did and it worked out perfect!!

Here's a helpful website that I posted in another thread:
Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia
They have links to translators in other provinces, the USA & elsewhere.

I found out today that our provincial insurance corporation does not accept notarized copies of the marriage certificate to change my name, only translations from a SPECIFIC organization The Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia (S.T.I.B.C.). Other brides in Canada may want to check out this website to link to your home province translators.
Quote:The Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia (S.T.I.B.C.) was incorporated in 1981. It is a non-profit professional association and an affiliate of the Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters Council (CTTIC), the umbrella organization for the associations of translators and interpreters in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Québec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, the Yukon and Nunavut. CTTIC is a member of the FIT (Fédération Internationale des Traducteurs). -
Wow can you imagine what their wedding pictures would look like!?!?! LOL
-
Wow, where do I start...
With only five weeks before our wedding and no photographer booked, Enrique confirmed he was able to take us as clients for our wedding. He sent us the contract and answered all my questions, which were never-ending. He was very kind and understanding; a clear professional. He obviously dealt with nervous brides like me before.
The pictures are breathtaking and everyone who has seen them LOVES them!! Tim & I are not the type of people who "pose" for pictures. We were grateful that Enrique guided us to create the amazing images. He said to trust him, and we did unequivocally. We also did not expect to receive the albums, so it was a joy to open the package once it finally arrived. I can't wait to show the video to my father who could not make it to Mexico. Unfortunately part of the disc skips, so I'm waiting to see if he can switch it for one that doesn't skip. I will update this once I have more information.
This is truly the most important day of our lives and he managed to capture it for us to treasure for years to come. I hope to take more pictures on our wedding anniversary with Enrique.
I understand this would be EM Wedding's first review on BDW. While I'm not the greatest writer, I'm willing to answer any questions that members may have.
Here's only a few of my favourites...

Great thread!! I have my translated & notarized copy of my Spanish marriage certificate. I'm not sure I'll need it for everything but I got it just to be safe. I'll be starting my name change stuff soon so I'll post updates here as I go.

Hey everyone!
I have the link to the gallery now!! If you want to see it, please PM me and I'll forward it to you.
As far as the review, I'm kinda busy right now running around showing the pictures!! lol
Lots of people have been waiting to see them!! I will post one as soon as I can!!
-
I'm working through the many pictures, but so far they are AMAZING!!!
I should have the gallery links tomorrow from Enrique. If you want to see them, send me a PM. I won't be posting them on the forum.

I was going to hold back on the review until I've seen the final product, which will be tomorrow!!! The package was received by a co-worker in another part of my building (at work obvs) but he didn't think to call me so I could get it. He likely didn't know that I was waiting so long for my WEDDING PICTURES!!!
Due to the public nature of this forum, I'm not going to post the gallery links DIRECTLY on the forum. If any members want to see the pictures, I can PM the links to them. The only thing I ask is that people not forward them outside the BDW forum via external email. It is also very likely that Enrique will have a few pictures on his blog: EM Weddings Blog
Given that I haven't seen the pictures yet, I would absolutely use Enrique again based on my experience with him & his assistants so far. I will post more when I do my quasi-review.
Yeaaa the wedding pictures are hereeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!! -
I ordered my wedding invitations online from them, which were the Sand and Sea Wedding Invitations. I was emailed the proof and approved it. It seemed okay until I actually got them in my hands. The font on the online proof seemed to be much bigger than when it was actually printed.
Other than the font being smaller than I'd prefer, they were exactly what I wanted. I guess it's hit & miss with this vendor.

Welcome to the BDW forum. This site and everyone here are VERY helpful and friendly. Hopefully you're good at searching because you'll need it ;o)
Happy Planning!
