  1. When we originally decided on RTB, the price was much higher then we ended up paying. I think you can reserve your wedding date and time now, then wait a bit to see if the price goes down. Also ask your TA about price protection. You would have to watch/check every so often to see if the price has gone down. I did and we ended up paying less than we originally thought.

  2. We chose the RTB over the Riu Negril because our TA told us the beach was nicer there....and she was right! We took a walk down to the RN along the beach (we could use their facilities, but guests there aren't suppose to be able to use the RTB facilities)and it was smaller and more crowded. The beach and the water are absolutely beautiful. It is also perfect for walking out. The kids really enjoyed playing in the water as it was clean and shallow.

If we wanted to upgrade the cake we could, but since we had an at home reception, I didn't feel the need to spend the money on the cake at that time.

  3. Hi ladies,

I was married at the RTB before it was the palace (July 15/0cool.gif. We had our dinner in the Steakhouse. We didn't rent it out, but we (33 of us) were sort of off to our own anyway away from the other guests. We were married on a Tuesday and there was a beach party that night, so we all changed then went to that.

I have a picture of the free cake. I will try to post it. There was enough for us to each have a piece, but don't expect cake like you get at home. It was okay, but nothing exceptional.

  4. Hi. I was married on July 15 at the Riu Tropical Bay in Negril. It was $1500 per person from Detroit all inclusive for a week. We had 31 guests. We took the free package (well you pay $250 for the minister), then added on a picture package (we went with the cheapest because we knew everyone else would be taking pictures - approx. $200), and upgraded the bouquet and added 2 bridemaid bouquets ($65 each for the bridesmaids and $100 for mine). The wedding was beautiful and there wasn't anything different that I would have done. I didn't want a big elaborate wedding, so that's why we decided to go away to get married! It was simple and elegant.

  5. We were married on July 15 at 4 p.m. on the beach with 31 guests attending. I was a little worried when we met with the wedding coordinator Keneika and she asked if we wanted to change it to the morning due to rain in the p.m. We stuck with our time and were happy because it was the best day the whole week! I had also been in contact with her and asked about calla lillies, but she never mentioned they had to be ordered ahead of time! I had a bit of a bridezilla moment, but got over it and picked out a bouquet that was just as beautiful. We brought our own music, which was played perfectly. The entire ceremony was about 15 minutes. Afterwards, we took some pictures with our friends, family and with the photographer. Because there was time in between, we gathered near the Steakhouse by the outside bar for drinks. The wait staff at the Steakhouse sectioned off an area for our group. They even created a "head table!" There were lots of choices for food (fish, beef, chicken). They were even kind enough to divide the champagne for everyone to make a toast as well as the wedding cake so everyone could have a piece (not the tastiest cake I've ever eaten, but it served it's purpose).

After everyone went home, we took a taxi and spent the second week at Sandals Whitehouse (great food and beautiful!) for some alone time.

We are very happy we chose this resort and even more happier we chose a destination beach wedding!

  6. Congratulations! I am so glad to hear that your wedding went great, considering I'm getting married there on July 15. I hope you don't mind if I ask a few questions.

    1) What flowers did you get (and cost) for you and your bridesmaids?

    2) What was the cost of the semi-private dinner?

    3) Did you bring your own music?

    4) Did you purchase a cake?

I would greatly appreciate your help!
