  1. Hi gals, I need your help! I'm obsessing over these shoes but not sure if they'd look ridiculous down in the Caribbean because of the patent leather (real, not plastic though, so maybe? They're Salvatore Ferragamo). They're soooo comfy and buttery soft, I am so tempted.

What do you think? Would my feet get too hot?? Be honest!

(They're actually more of a lilac color. Oh and pardon the black fishnets!)

  2. Hi everyone, what are you planning on doing after your wedding in the Dominican?

Are you going to stay on the island and move to another resort or going to another Caribbean destination?

I'm thinking of doing the latter - has anyone had any good or bad experiences taking a quick flight somewhere close for a honeymoon week? We'd have to come back to the DR to catch our flight home I think, so I'm not sure if this would be a great thing to do or just a baaad idea.

What are your honey moon plans?

You probalby have to add 300$ or more to that price (for the Majestic) for February, which would bring it close to 2000$ (what you are currently being quoted) So again you need full information when comparing prices that different people paid.

(sorry if that came across as rude as that is not my intention)
Actually, November isn't at all the cheapest time to go to DR. Also, after conversations with several TAs I learned that the rates for DR actually went up this year over last year. I'm not sure why that's the case, but it is. If you're looking for a season that's more affordable, maybe try June-September or right after Christmas when demand drops and so do the prices.

  5. Hi gals. Some posts here are saying that the Majestic is too expensive so don't consider it but you definitely should - it's really not that bad. My Toronto-departure guests are paying under $1600 all taxes in (7 nights, based on double occupancy) which is pretty amazing, I think, for a 5-star resort. I did a lot of shopping around though - 5 travel agents! So if you're persistent, you can get a great deal. Hope this helps!

  6. Hi everyone. My name is Kasia and I'm tying the knot on November 17, 2008 at the Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

Looking forward to exchanging ideas and sharing the journey!
