  1. I haven't posted in a while, but I've been exercising six days a week. What I've learned about me to lose weight is: I need to do two hours a day of high level cardio. ( I usually mix one exercise with swimming as the second exercise to cool off and refresh myself. I've been doing biking, rollerblading, bikram yoga ( awesome for stress relief and increasing flexibility!). Next week I'm starting a springboard diving course to keep it fun and exciting. For me, if I'm excited about it, it just makes it so much easier.

  2. ButlerGirl08,

Macy's is promoting as a Mother's Day sale, but they are changing the fine jewelry department, basically downsizing it significantly. So, the sale is on for quite some time I would imagine.

    cantwaittobemrs,

Glad to hear you found your wedding jewelry there!

I never would have known about it either, but luckily my sister called me with the information about it.

  3. Ladies,

Macy's is having a huge sale, 40 % off of almost everything, and 60 % off of clearance items. Incredible deals right now, its a Mother's Day sale. But also they are getting rid of their Fine Jewelry Department as it is now, most everything has to go. They are only going to be having a much smaller selection as it hasn't been selling well.

I cleaned up today at Macy's! I hardly ever splurge on jewelry but with such a sale, I did buy a few things.

    Good luck!

  4. I lived in Mexico City for five ( 5 ) months and I'm going back in two weeks. Firstly, all the hype about how dangerous it is can 'scare' the beeeees out of you. I didn't find anything out of the ordinary when I was there. I have many friends who live there and none of them had a kidnapping or any other 'dangerous' experience.

I was there when Guiliani was there cleaning up the city, it may have changed since, and it certainly was worse before I was there. I'm sure there is truth to the kidnappings, etc... However, if you use precaution you'll blend in and not be a target.

I colored my hair to a brown shade, I wore muted colors, nothing bright that stood out, no jewelry, one inexpensive watch. I carried a regular school type backpack for my belongings when I was there.

I took the metro 90 % of the time, found it fast, convenient and cheap- 20 cents per one way even with transfers.

Taxi's - when you arrive at the airport get a taxi from the airport, they charge more but are 'approved'.

When your about the City and hail a taxi make sure they have the government license showing in front of the drivers window- less chance of kidnapping. I always had a map with me and knew which way I was going, so in case of a potential kidnapping I would just open the door and jump out. But that never happened.

The history in Mexico City is just incredible, from the Zocalo that was built with stones from the Aztec pyramid which is adjacent to the Zocalo and easy to see from the side of the Catholic Cathedral, to Bellas Artes, to Chapultepec Park with its museums, to the floating gardens, and Universidad- the first University built in the Americas. It dates back to 1500s, it has beautiful frescos on the outside of the building.

So much to see there, a good two weeks, and a LOT of walking. I lost 15 pounds just walking everywhere, and I ate more fried food than ever in my life.

hth, if you have any questions feel free to ask. Polanco is the highest end area of Mex City.

  5. The first time I had a bikini wax, I not only screamed, I seriously considered leaving with only the the first strip ripped off! But I toughed it out and didn't return for one of those for years.

The waxer is a big part of how painful it is or isn't. I found someone who does a lot of waxing, and she is the least painful of all of them. But its never not been painful- for me anyway.

I like to wear a dress, an old simple throw on dress so that my 'area' can not have to rub against any clothing, and also the sweat dries.

I always thought they should serve a glass of wine or beer before you go in for that, just to take the edge off.

  6. I've done the Lemonade Diet/ Master Cleanser several times and so has my boyfriend. I learned about it from one of my clients. Its really not for loosing weight, and if you don't come off of it right you will gain more weight than what you started with. My boyfriend changed how he ate so he keeps the weight mostly off. Generally he does put back 2-3 pounds from water and food in the digestive track.

It is good to really repair the body. But it requires caution, I felt weak after one of them, and it took me a while to get my regular strength back.

I do however, have more energy and higher productivity level since doing those.

One of my friends does a fruit diet to lose weight and she does lose quite a bit on it. But I think her metabolism is higher than usual.

  7. I went for a bike ride today, and tomorrow will swim. I've really been struggling with my weight lately. I've added rollerblading three times a week, and eating.....fish. I'm not much of a fish fan, but because the protein is so high and the calories so low I'm trying to warm up to it.

For lunch I made tuna with humus , celery and red onion. With humus its not so bad.

I've been doing a good two hours every other day for a couple of months now and have only lost about one pound, but I'm a lot stronger.

  8. I'm an outdoorsy one, so I love to be out in the surf, hiking, tennis, biking, etc... The Sun will darken me no matter what , evenso I wear a hat, sunglasses, and the best sunscreen called La Roche Posay Anthelios 50+. I found that two years ago when I saw a strange bump on my nose that turned out to be nothing, but before I knew if was nothing I searched for the best sunscreen. This brand from France blocks out almost all UVA and UVB and has been used in many other countries since the early 90's. Its the European doctors number one recommended sunscreen. The US is just starting to allow it in, but not at the maximum percent Sun Block. They are letting in ten percent and the lower levels. I get mine from Ebay.
