    Thank you! I actually sent my mom a pic and she took it to a local florist. We got a very good price on all the flowers and it was easy for my mom to pick them up. (The flowers were sort of a last min decision)

    Thank you!!! We picked out the girls dresses at Macy's! cheesy.gif Got them on sale for about 60 bucks.

    Thanks! Like I said...my mom went to a local florist and ordered them based on a picture she had brought in. Then my mom packed them in a seperate small suitcase and they maintained their shape really well! I jammed my bouquet in my suitcase on the way back and it traveled really well...still looks great! Now if I could just keep my cat away from it! cheesy.gif lol!

    Just in case anyone is looking for a fun resort at a good price...

     

    We just got back from Breezes Montego Bay.

     

    The reviews on tripadvisor weren't all that great....and Hurricane Dean worried us to no end....but when we finally got there....all our cares just slipped away!!

     

    Our wedding was just fantastic....right on the beach...under the palm trees for some shade.

    We're giving it till tomorrow to see how bad the damange is. MoBay is on the north side so I'm hoping it didn't get hit that bad.

    Our plan "B" is to push our Jamaica trip to probably next Feb. Then we'll just get married here in NC at the courthouse....have a small party with a few really good friends here...very lowkey and spur of the momentish....then we'll spend a few days over on the coast here...sort of a mini-honeymoon.

    Then we'll still have our AHR in December...in Texas....and then take our real honeymoon to Jamaica in Feb.

    I'm not a big fan of Plan B....I'll have to redo announcements and see if my parents can fix travel plans...we'll have to fix travel plans and pay out even more money that we don't really have.

    But we'll see. I'm trying to stay positive and my FI is trying to stay realistic. So we make a good team. cheesy.gif

    I feel the same, I feel as if my dream of getting married on the island have been crushed but before I go cancelling and making concrete alternative plans, I am waiting for today to happen and assess the damage..

    No I have not heard anything about Cuba, sorry..I guess my focus has been more on Jamaica at this point..Should I hear anything, I will keep you posted~

    We're also trying to remain really flexible and just see what happens. I've lost about 80% hope....but there's still some hope left in me.

    My friend just got to Jamaica last week for a 3 week stay with relatives and I think it will be those people that are affected the most, a big resort like Breezes will do their best to pull it off for you. Keep us posted grouphug.gif

    I'm trying my best to stay postive because like you said...we don't know what will happen yet.

    The waiting is so hard.

    I have some DIY things that need to be done....mainly the annoucements...but I can't finish them yet because I don't know if I'm going to have to reprint them...or what.

    I will definietly keep yall posted. I didn't think I'd end up being a Hurricane Bride!

    Well we're thinking we're pretty much screwed.

     

    We're scheduled to leave for Breezes Montego Bay this coming Friday. After being hit by a Cat 4....we're thinking there's not going to be much left of Jamaica.

     

    I'm feeling pretty depressed big time. sad.gif I've been counting down forever and now less than a week before we're scheduled to leave...everything I've dreamt about and planned for....crushed.

    I always use Orbitz to look up flights...then usually end up going over to American Airlines and booking the same flight for a few bucks cheaper. cheesy.gif

    I've been keeping my eye on Jamaica flights from Raleigh, NC...and we finally booked our flights less than a month before we leave!! Yikes! Thankfully the prices have remained pretty steady over the last couple of months.

    Thanks...I'm glad to know that at least someone else has seen the stamp! I don't have a ton of experience with notaries...so I was a little curious about that.

    Hopefully they'll email me back and we can figure this out without me having to re-notarize/re-send everything!!!

    Notary Issues

    Did anyone have trouble with their notarized paperwork that they had to send to the resort?

     

    I gathered all the paperwork needed and my FI went and got it notarized. The notary used a stamp and not an embosser...which my FI assured me was normal..."no one uses the embosser anymore."

     

    I fedex'd everything to Jamaica and got an email saying that they received it but that they couldn't process any of our paperwork because it had to be an official notary and not a copy. I sent back an email saying...It's NOT a copy!!!

     

    If I have to re-fedex that paperwork again I am going to be so upset. It wasn't cheap!!!

     

    Anyone else have this problem? What did you do?
