Travelers departing on flights from the Dominican Republic are facing newly implemented restrictions when it comes to their carry-on and checked luggages.
Passengers must dispose of, or pack in their checked baggage, coffee beans/ground coffee, spices and the other items on the complete list below. The items listed will no longer be allowed through security. Once through security, passengers may purchase these items and bring them on the aircraft.
Other important factors to take note of:
- Unless the passenger has a doctor’s note, Security personnel is also directing passengers to put all medicine in their checked bags.
- Alcohol/Perfume - All bottles of alcohol/perfume etc, must be placed in checked baggage - alcohol has a 5 liter maximum.
- The TSA 3-1-1 rule does not apply – even liquids in containers of 3 oz. or less will NOT be allowed through security. So toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and lipstick must now be placed in checked baggages unless purchased after passing through security.
When departing the Dominican Republic, the following items are no longer allowed in a carry-on bag and MUST be packed in checked baggage.
Sharp object restrictions:
Liquids/other items not allowed through security:
All kinds of foam
All kinds of perfume/cologne
All other gels
All types of toothpaste
Medication (need a Doctor’s note)
