How To Save Costs On Your Cake

When we went for a site visit to our resort (Hilton Rose Hall Resort in Montego Bay) a few months before our wedding, the coordinator showed us a book of cake examples included with our package-- lets just say we were less than impressed with the totally 80's looking designs! So we decided to order a plain white two-tier cake for our 70 guests and bring our own sugar flowers down to Jamaica.

My mom transported the sugar flowers for us-- was able to bring them on board with no problem. She snuck away for a few minutes during the cocktail reception to arrange the sugar flowers on the cake and it turned out beautiful (see attached pic)! Since the two-tier cake was included with our package, we wound up spending around $60 total for a pretty cake that was exactly how I envisioned :-)
