  1. @@Clarianne CONGRATS! I saw a ton of pics from your wedding on insta through stalking The Finest and it looked unbelievably beautiful and fun! A few questions for you: - How much was your DJ? Did you have to pay the $500 outside vendor fee as well? - How many people did you have at your wedding? Did you do any kind of welcome event? - How was the food at the resort in general and at the wedding? Do you have any specific recommendations? - Did you do any kind of excursion/catamaran for guests? Thanks! Ahh thank you!!!! to answer your questions: - How much was your DJ? Did you have to pay the $500 outside vendor fee as well? We had the Dunas + Love package so we had 2 hours included (reception was from 7-12am). We extended our party till 12 am and had to pay the DJ he 235usd is per extra hour of the DJ service, and for the waitres service and open bar is 18usd per person per hour, you need to pay for both GSP is actually their preferred vendor so I didn't have to pay the fee. I did have to pay for the decor company and the videographers - How many people did you have at your wedding? Did you do any kind of welcome event? We had 47 in total, and we did a bonfire the night before the wedding. I would recommend doing this earlier in the week or later (like a good bye bonfire or something) - How was the food at the resort in general and at the wedding? Do you have any specific recommendations? Food was amazing! Even the cake, which we never got to eat because well.. we were having too much fun! LOL We picked from the silver menu and they allowed our guests to choose 3 main courses (you will need to send this info beforehand) - Did you do any kind of excursion/catamaran for guests? Ah no, we were too busy to be honest, some people did an excursion during the week but we couldn't be bothered. We had groups of people staying for 7 and 5 nights. I hope that helps! Ahahah believe it or not all the guys blew them up!! its do-able but you will need to take breaks. We had two huge pizza floatie slices, flamingo, donut, pineapple, and a bunch of rafts.... all manually mouth blown! hahaha
  2. Hi Ladies!! So I just got married at the Finest two weeks ago and everything was incredible! I thought I would share my experience and let you know that it will all go well despite of what you read on here. I read a lot of negative feedback regarding coordinators but ours ended up being more than we could ever ask for. Here are all our vendors: Wedding Coordinator: Viviana Mendes Decor Company: Archive Mexico (ask for Daniela Paraz) Floral: Vanessa Jaimes DJ: GSP Audiovisual (they were fantastic) Sparklers: Partylogue Ceremony: Beach (the one thing I would do differently is ask them to move the set up further away from the obstacle course) Reception: Grand Palapa (highly recommend!!) I was super nervous about hair and make up since I've read on here as well that they are not very good - esp with "asian" make up but they did a fabulous job!! I brought my hair extensions with me which helped my hair stay up in the humidity. I also used an anti humidity blocking spray (which kept my hair nice and full even after sweating like crazy: http://images.ulta.com/is/image/Ulta/2290235?$detail$)and the urban decay setting spray (all nighter) - my make up stayed on forever! I have shared some photos on instagram, feel free to check them out: clehreean Hastag: #theandrighettis Happy Wedding Planning Ladies!!! Do not stress too much, enjoy the entire week and everything will fall into place! <3
  3. @@Maurindy2016 Thank you for your detailed post!!! Your wedding looked beautiful! I love your hair. Did you get that done at the spa? Im thinking of something very similar but I'm afraid it won't hold very well with the humidity. Also, did you pay extra to get the sparklers delivered to the resort? And do you know if they are allowed on the plane? Also what time did you light them up (what time does it get dark?) So many questions! Lol thank you so much in advance. - C
  4. @@SusanMarie813 - have you heard anything about Viviana by any chance? I had Ludzary before but then got switched to Vivi recently.
  5. @@robynm10 Thanks girl!! Yes those are the PDFs they would have sent you to pick out your gazebo, flowers, etc. So not in love with the suff they have in there, I'm hoping they could at least use flowers similar to what I have on my PPT. As for Alquima, they are mad expensive but that's depending on what you're renting from them. I found that Archive Mexico has more selection and is more flexible with pricing Daniela is my contact and she totally gets my vision so I feel more confident knowing they are setting it up for me.
  6. @@robynm10 yes we are but honestly it's worth going with them than Alquima - it ends up being cheaper even with the vendor fee! My contact is Daniela and she is wonderful, you should definitely consider it
  7. Ladies, I just discovered this website and this amazing forum! I'm sorry but I can't sift through al these amazing conversations but here are some of my crucial questions. First off, we are getting married on Thursday, August 11. My wedding coordinator is Viviana, she is amazing and I just recently spoke to her today and will have another follow up conversation tomorrow. We have the Dunas Light up Package with the Gold package andI am using Archive Mexico for my decor. Any other brides out there with this same package combo? Questions: I was told the wedding would only be till 11PM, is this right? I am begging them to at least extend it to 12:30 We have two hours with the DJ that is included in the package, but we will need them for longer and the cost per hour is pretty pricey $200ish I believe, is this worth it? Should I look into another DJ?? For flowers, do you think they will be able to provide a lot of greenery? I too am concerned about my "Asian" make up - I've seen some pictures and they seem to do a good job. One thing I'm worried about is my hair! I wanted to have it down and bohemian-ish but with the humidity it might just get super sweaty and flat - what do you think? For food - I need your recommendation, what are some "must-haves" on the menu? Here is a powerpoint I created and sent to the resort for reference (please do not judge me and think I am crazy, I am just super OCD with life): https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/14DTfEoZ8vTdg9fwHVlQabiRMZGJ5p89PKyvZqoqurrg/edit#slide=id.p5 hahaha! Thanks for your response in advance!!
