  1. I've had Cabo del Sol's buffet style brunch during my site visit to Cabo del Sol, and will say it's delicious!! Their mimosas too! Perhaps Luz can help you set up the morning after brunch for your guests? That would be a great option! If wanting to head "into town" the morning after the wedding for a bite to eat, then Soloman's Landing is a good option. They have a very large breakfast menu! As for rehearsal dinner, it will depends if you are going for an elegant evening? Or a casual "night out on the town feel" - we opted for a casual fiesta themed rehearsal dinner at Mi Casa in downtown Cabo San Lucas. I loved the atmosphere at Hacienda Cocina y Cantina, Edith's was good too - but during my site visit, I fell in love with the food at Mi Casa. If shooting for a more elegant evening along the water, and closer to Cabo del Sol then I would highly recommend Sunset Mona Lisa! Gorgeous views! The food isn't the greatest italian food but the views really are top notch!
  2. Congratulations!! I too was engaged in December (but 2015!), and had a fall wedding last November in Cabo San Lucas.Such an exciting time for you and your fiance!! If you can squeeze it in your budget, I HIGHLY recommend a site visit to Cabo before nailing down your venue. It's soooo important!!! Photos can be deceiving! You can also book your tastings with a few bakeries to sample their cakes. My maid of honor and I visited Cabo last January over a 4-day weekend and visited several resorts, private villas, and even restaurants (to scope out rehearsal dinner options). In the end, I realized that seeing/feeling the venues is an absolute MUST prior to signing that contract. There were resorts I fell in love online and honestly thought they were a top competitor, yet in the end I thought "thank goodness I came to visit!" If you decide to book a site visit, many resorts will offer a discount if they know you're a potential client and have a site visit scheduled. Normally the coordinator will set up the discount for you. I had mine set up with Hacienda Encatada but stayed at their sister resort Marina Fiesta since it was cheaper, plus close to the night life! As for resorts, it will vary greatly on your preferred area and budget. Would you like to stay on the Pacific side near los Arcos, or near Medano Beach (the only swimmable beach near Downtown Cabo) or would you like to be further away from the nightlight and stay in the Cabo del Sol area? There are also a line of resorts not far from the airport. It would be easiest to know the location you and the groom prefer, prior to hunting for a resort...there are way too many!! Below I noted my tops during my visit: Pacific Side - Pueblo Bonito Pacifica & Grand Solmar Land's End (The Resort of Pedgral is amazing if you have a generous budget in mind!) Medano Beach - honestly, no resorts really caught my interest. Great thing about the resorts Pueblo Bonito Pacifica & Grand Solmar Lands end, is they are resort chains, so if your wedding takes place at PB Pacifica (adults only resort), your guests have the option of staying at any of their other Pueblo Bonito sister resorts along Medano Beach. Shuttle is free! Same thing goes for Grand Solmar. Casa Dorada was actually one of the resorts that was at the top of my list but didn't care for it in the end since Mango Deck (popular bar) is located right next door and rather loud during a ceremony (which I witnessed during my visit). Cabo del Sol area - The Cape and Grande Fiesta Americana - but if your budget allows the ESPERANZA no question about it!! Hacienda Encatada is nearby, but it was rather old feeling and not what I expected (it was initally at the top of my list) Further away from downtown Cabo/closer to San Jose del Cabo you'll find Dreams, Hyatt Ziva, La Ventanas al Paraiso, One & Only Palmilla. Cabo del Sol golf course was the choice we almost went with after my maid of honor and I fell in love with it the moment we arrived! Many brides also opt to have their weddings at private estates/villas or restaurants like Sunset Mona Lisa (beautiful view!) Hope this helps!
  3. You'll be surpised, Cabo is EXPENSIVE! Just a little heads up, as I too did not anticipate such a huuuge difference in cost for a Cabo wedding vs other beaches in Mexico. As for your 30k budget in CAD, that's about 22k in USD (almost everything in cabo is priced in USD) - is this your entire budget? (rings, dress, DJ, flowers, video, photography, rings etc?) because an entire budget of 22k budget in Cabo for that high of guest count is actually considered a "very low budget" in Cabo (I should know, as our original budget was $20k USD but for 40 guests). We were blown away at how quickly a non-resort style wedding added up. Photography and videography services are very expensive and will eat a bulk of your budget (if you plan on having). Flowers are super expensive since all are transported via cargo ship from central mexico. A resort wedding will be by far the most cost efficient route to take with your guest count and budget. Have you all considered Playa del Carmen or Cancun? With your budget and guest count, you all can definitely pull it off in either of those locations! It's not as luxurious feeling as Cabo, but it's still gorgeous! I attended a recent wedding at the Grand Coral Beach Club in Playa del Carmen (outdoor/non-resort venue) and it was great! Well back to the topic, below is the venue pricing information from 2016 I was able to find in my email. I visited Cabo del Sol during my site visit to Cabo when searching for our venue and I will say it's a beautiful location! And Luz (the coordinator) is such a joy to speak with! I don't have their catering information in email since Luz provided that in person. If still interested, then let me know and I will search in my files to see if I still have anything on it. I don't remember the catering price being too over the top, but do remember their open bar packages were pricey! 4. When booking our small intimate venue, we anticipated about 30-40 guests but as people began telling us, "see you in cabo!" that number doubled to 75 guests. So I knew a gentle "dont feel obligated to go" message was absolutely necessary to note on our website. Our first page was titled "Message from the Bride and Groom" which we used to share our excitement and thank yous along with our reason behind selecting Cabo San Lucas as our destination for our wedding (since soo many were asking). At the tail end of that message, I included this: We are aware that scheduling time away from family and work may pose challenges, so if this time of the year does not fit into your current situation we sincerely understand and hope to see you all soon. We will gladly accept your prayers and warm wishes from afar! Thank you again for your continuous love, as we begin our lives together. We can not wait for the BIG DAY and look forward to celebrating with you all - near or far! xoxo- A&M I will add that until the guests have actually booked their vacation, do not take their word for it. We had so many voice their excitement and desire to attend the wedding but about 3 months prior to the wedding that number began steadily dropping. In the end, we ended up with the exact number we were hoping for 35 guests. It was absolutely perfect..whew! Who knows, maybe our little website message helped many feel not-so obligated to attend in the end? But it's worth a shot!
