  1. Hello, everyone! So I'm still looking around for resorts and have several that I'm interested in, especially the Now Resorts, but I can't decide between Now Jade or Now Sapphire. I think I really like Now Sapphire so far though. So I was wondering, for any pass or future brides that looked into the resorts or had their wedding there, what is your opinions on the two and what is the difference in amenities, properties, beaches, locations, etc? And how are the weddings there? I can't set a date yet for my wedding because of some circumstances so I can't yet get a travel agent or contact resorts, so I thought I would just ask for opinions here
  2. @@ValentineMrs2Be welcome! Wow, I'm real glad that your FH is doing much better. I'm so sorry for what him and you had to go through. I know how it is. I, too, have a medical problem. It's chronic, and it's hard to deal with everyday and I'm on treatment, too. I think that you should definitely do a DW, because, in my opinion, you should do something adventurous rather than a local, traditional wedding. You beat the odds, You deserve it! I'm somewhat in the same boat as you for having to postpone my own wedding, but for financial reasons (so not as extraordinary as your situation) which I had hoped would be 3/14/17 but now i might not know when I will be able to settle on a date. All I know is that it will most likely be sometime in 2017. Really glad to hear that you are able to possibly move on with your plans. Good luck!
  3. @lorishultz yeah, I definitely know that in the end, it's about where we want to go and not about anyone else (although we do want to be accommodating to everyone). I guess I'm more concerned about the fact that we've already been there only 3 years ago and maybe we should go somewhere else that we haven't been yet. We don't get to take vacations like this that often. St. Thomas and St. Lucia are so gorgeous. I wish I could go there, (especially the Turks and Caicos) but it's a little out of our budget.
  4. @@lorishultz2016 I think it would be ok, too. The more I think about it, the more I keep thinking that PLayacar Palace and Dreams Tulum are my top favorites and will be either one I choose. I'm just hoping that my friends (her husband included) wouldn't mind coming back to the Playacar palace again for another wedding. She will definitely be my bridesmaid. I just really loved pretty much everything about the palace and the resort credits are really attracting me there. So where are you having your wedding at lorishultz
  5. @@hswerdy I'm new at planning, too. For me, I'm too excited to think that it will suck. I think it will be fun to plan most of the time, and it'll take off the stress of every detail of a local wedding. I know that there will be some stress with picking the perfect venue and resort (I'm a little picky) and handling my group, and budget. I'm planning a really small wedding too, like maybe 20 people. I started planning a local wedding and the little details, then I thought, screw it; we can't afford it and I'll get overwhelmed, and probably obsessive, haha (though I'm definitely not a bridezilla). Now planning a DW is so much easier. All I have to do is communicate and drink a sit back and drink a cocktail, lol. Well, good luck with your planning, and feel free to ask around for questions and advice. I'm in early stages planning too
  6. @@dreamweddings, I would like to be a little further than the Cancun area. I visited the Cozumel Palace last time I vacationed there and while it was nice, I didn't like that they don't have much of a beach. I don't think it will be much of a problem having my wedding at the Palace Playacar. We all loved it and yes, they did have great food. I will be able to make definite plans in the next couple of months!
  7. Hey everyone! I'm jacky, and I'm planning on getting married hopefully in March of 2017. March 14th marks the anniversary of out first date in 2014, and we want to make it our official anniversary. It's still ways away from now, and under some circumstances at home, I can't really make definite plans yet One of my top resorts is Dreams Tulum, Playacar Palace, and Now Jade or Now Sapphire. I attended my best friend's wedding at Playacar Palace and I really loved it there. It seems to be exactly what I want but, I don't know because, I mean, she had her wedding there, so is it right that I do it too there? It's a little expensive, too (which is the issue with most of my choices) These other resorts seem to have everything I want also. Anyone a bride at any of these resorts?
