  1. Hi Nic, Thanks for all the info, I have added you on facebook really excited to see your pics =) Just you sharing your wedding and experience has really helped, made me feel less worried if you know what I mean. That's nice that the weather was on your side, I havnt been to the hotel b4 but from seeing the pics of the spa area it looks lovely and I wouldn't mind if we had to move indoors but fingers crossed the sun will shine =) We was originally getting married in the UK, it was all booked a bought my dress and everything but we had a huge change of plan (family can be a pain in the arse lol) and decided to pull the plug n go abroad and im so glad we are....anyway I bought my dress thinking it would be this country in the winter and its pretty big, has so many layers im so worried about being to hot, I really don't want to sell it tho, I love it....So hearing what you said about your dress I am relieved that im not the only one who hasn't got a small, light, cool sensible summer wedding dress haha. Our wedding is at 2pm as well then onto the reception at 6....inbetween we are having the cocktail hour and photos Where would you recommend to have our pics taken? I like the look of the balcony little window and the sunset pictures. They have just emailed me now asking if I have any special requirements. I have asked for the up lighting at the Blue Lagoon, it looks so nice on the pics, I think it will defo be worth he money. I love the sound of your own lighting too, really good idea. What colour scheme did you have? im having coral, white and silver...hoping they have the uplight colur in coral. Did you take your own flowers or have them from the hotel? Did you have your hair done in the salon? I have booked in for me and my bridesmaid, but praying they can do the style I want. anyway im rambleing on again, speak soon =)
  2. Mrs Gurrey!!! Congratulations on saying 'I DO'. I bet it was beautiful, so glad to hear everything went really well. A couple of my friends have said they had wedding blues after their weddings, they didn't know what to do with their time after planning the wedding for months =) I have soooo many questions for you haha, hope you don't mind =) Im flying out 3 weeks on Monday cant believe how fast its coming around now, I still feel like nothings organised properly tho, im just hoping when we get there we can put a lid on it all and relax . We are getting married at the gazebo then having a cocktail hour with steel drums then reception at the blue lagoon. Did you see any other weddings while you was there? How many guests did you have? We have 19-23 guests, I was a lil worried the blue lagoon would be too big for that amount of ppl, I asked the WC and she said they could section it off smaller so its more cosy, do you think that would work? im in two minds about the blue lagoon or private beach bash I really cant decide. How was your tables set out? I would like a top table then round ones but iv seen like a 'n' shape table that looks more cosy for a small wedding party. How did you get on with true colours, have you seen any of your pics yet? we have booked them too, and the videography. Rite I have so many more questions but ill leave it at that for now haha. Cant wait to hear from you =) xxxx
  3. Yes my WC is called Lorraine, I was assigned her about 3 weeks ago and she is much faster on the email replies, 1-3 days. I keep sending her a million questions and she sends good replies. We are getting married at the gazebo, it was the view that got me, hope its as good as it looks. Been and bought my tiara today, made me feel like a princess trying it on, really making it feel real now. Also my wedding dress box arrived from Thompson today too. How are your plans comin along? Where abouts are you getting married? Are you having a reception? xxxx
  4. Hi guys I'm getting married on the 20th Jan, its really coming round fast now. I'm really struggling on what songs to have at the ceremony, I know that I want Bruno Mars 'marry you' to walk in to but not sure on the rest, any suggestions? I'm planning on having a cocktail hour after our photos, but im just a bit worried guests will fill up on appetizers and then not be hungry for the sit down meal.... How is everyone's plans coming along? Really keen to hear your ideas and to chat with other brides =))
  5. Hello im getting married on the 20th January 2014 at the Grand Palladium. What made me choose this hotel was first of all the price, its a 5* hotel but with a great value for price compared to other 5* hotels in Jamaica....I also loved the Image of the hotel, how the resteraunts over look the pool and lights up at night, the sunsets on the sea also and I thought this would be lovely for wedding pictures. The wedding gazebo was a huge factor in my booking, its so big and over looks the sea and also private, many of the other hotels gazebos were small and pokie. I read so many reviews on forums and trip advisor, it came across as a beautiful hotel and the only complaints I could see were petty ones such as a cracked tile or 'the water doesn't drain quick enough down the plug' lol. I wouldn't let something like that ruin my holiday/wedding let alone write a review about it Overall I just love the hotel, and I cant wait to get married there. How is everyone getting on with their planning?? Jenny xxxxxx

  8. Ah thank you, I will defo be getting our passports done aswel then. Hope all your plans are coming together, im so excited I was just so worried that I didnt have the correct docs and nobody seemed to have a clear answer for me. Thanks again =)
  9. Anybody know the correct documents that you need to get married at the Grand Palladium Jamaica? I have notarized copies of bride & groom birth certificates, my solicitor thinks that I may need an 'affidavit/declaration free to marry' because many countries do require one to get married. I have emailed the hotel but it is taking a while to hear from Erika. One email said I need passports notarizing too, I'm a bit confused I just want clear answers on what I need... Please help =)
  10. Hello, I am getting married at the Grand Palladium Jamaica next year and I have chosen the sapphire wedding package. I have seen recently on the website that you can now have the option for a private beach bash with paper lanterns, d.j, bonfire and snacks. Does anybody know any more information on this such as price, food options, is it a substitute for the reception etc. Many thanks Jenny =)
