You mentioned that the resort is willing to work with you. That's all we are asking for. Our DJ is a guest at our wedding Agale86 thank you for your input and apologies, but this sounds weird. How can the resort be so helpful for your wedding by crediting your semi-private wedding to private?

My fiancé and I are getting married in May 2014 as well. Im a newbie to BDW, but I have reviewed so many post that have been so helpful. I was hoping someone would be able to help with a situation Im having with the resort. We opted for the luxury package and are looking to have about 50-60 people at our wedding. My fiancé and I love music and we want to have a friend DJ our wedding. He will be staying at the resort for 2 nights. We have been going back and forth with our coordinator to see if we can have the vendor waived bc our friend/DJ is staying at the resort and we need to rent Dj speakers from the DJ's resort, but they are telling us that they can only give us a 20% discount off the vendor fee. So we have the vendor fee and the rental of the speakers for $400. Has anyone been able to waive the vendor fee?
  3. Hi all! I'm new to BDW. Hopefully you guys can help me. My finance and I are getting married May 31, 2014 at the Royal in playa del Carmen. Music is a big part of our lives and we want to fly out a friend of ours to DJ our wedding. He's staying at the resort for at least two nights. He's bringing all his equipment except for speakers. We are asking the resort if we can use their speakers but they want to charge us $950!!!!! To "rent" the equipment bc they are claiming the resort doesn't have this. We are willing to pay the $350 with a discount bc the DJ is staying at the resort. Alejandra is our coordinator, but we are currently asking to speak w a supervisor. Has anyone had any trouble like this? Any suggestions?
