  1. Hi everyone, Does anyone know the price to rent the Daquari Bar or if the drinks there are all included? Is this bar at a neighboring RIU resort and if so do they they have shuttles for guests?? So excited for all of you ladies with upcoming weddings!!
  2. Oh no! I have not seen these reviews but that terrifies me as I have just sent out my save the dates and Im sure all of my guests will be looking soon. When I was searching places, most reviews were wonderful. Hopefully the bad publicity will get them to notice before we all arrive!! And I love your idea of handing out the OOT bags at the welcome dinner. I heard that they charge like $4 to place them in guest's rooms for you.
  3. Liz24, Do you have any pricing you could share with me about renting the Daquari Bar? It sounds like the perfect idea and would love more info! Thank you! Now that its 2014, it seems so REAL!! I can't wait! My fiance and I are interested in arranging an excursion for our guests. We would love to foot the bill for it if there are somewhat affordable options. Does anyone know if the resort has discounts for larger groups (~30 guests). Does anyone have any recommendations of excursions that would meet the needs of a group? Also, if it does not fit into our budget, is it rude to arrange an excursion for your group and ask them to pay and those that want to come can? I honestly have no clue what the ettiquete is for this stuff!
  4. Can someone please send me the checklist too? It would be so useful!! PM and I will give you my email address, THANK YOU
  5. From what I have read from the website regarding music is you must have a private reception to have music in general. So if you are doing the semi-private reception, music is out of the question. If you are doing the private reception, you can pay to have speakers set up for your ipod but I am pretty sure it is close to the price of having a DJ. Many brides seem to have just gone with the DJ since prices were so similar. We are doing the semi-private reception and choosing not to have music, but we were wondering about the nightlife scene at the resorts. Is there anywhere where my guests and I can go dance the night away? I heard there is a disco at the RIUTequila, but haven't heard what its like. ANYONE have any ideas about what to do after the dinner if not doing a private reception?
  6. I got an email from RPRM sales exec including the package details and also information about booking the wedding if anyone is interested PM your email address and I can forward it to you! It was very helpful seeing I couldn't find 2014 pricing on the web yet.
  7. LukyJ That's great - and definitely different from what is said on their website. How much is the extra cost per person for private dinner when you use the free package? Do you get to choose any restaurant at the Riviera Maya resort? I do not know the extra costs associated with doing a private dinner because we are just opting for the semi-private dinner that is included. For guests over the 10 included in the free package, it is $25.00PP. This additional cost covers the ceremony chairs, champs and cake, and dinner reservation. It is just like the other packages at the RPRM, you have to chose from Chiles or Botofogo.
  8. Hi JenniferM, That is what I had assumed as well from this site, but I emailed the RPRM and their sales executive sent me information that claims it does. Oddly it claims that the free package is now only available at the RPRM versus the RPM. After getting this info, we confirmed the free package at the RPRM and it is set in stone for 12-06-14! Maybe they have changed things for 2014...
  9. Hi everyone! I just booked my wedding for Dec 6, 2014 and RPRM!! It is sooooo far away but the groom and I are both finishing up grad school and don't want to be busy with wedding planning on top of that! This site has been a blessing!! I feel like I already have been to the resort with all of the photos and comments! I still have a couple of questions though. 1. Regarding the beach ceremony, they all seem to be in front of a fence with the beach lounges behind them. Is there any way to be closer to the beach to reduce the amount of onlookers in your photos? I have always dreamed of having my feet in the sand the day of my wedding (hence why I am reluctant to do the more private gazebo), but some of the pictures I have seen disturb me with the chairs everywhere! 2. Has anyone done the "free" package on the beach? I am wondering what type of decor that this package offers. We crunched the numbers and realized paying the additional fee per person was still cheaper than upgrading to the Royal package. I may be swayed to upgrade though if the decor is also upgraded. 3. We are not doing a private reception so we are going to need to find something to do after dinner. Does anyone have any suggestions? We are not going to want to go watch a show or anything, we will be in full out party mode! Has any bride ever walked to the RIU Tequila's disco with their wedding party to continue the evening? I am sure I will have many more questions as things progress! Thanks to all of the former brides and brides to be for their help! I do not know what I would be doing if it wasn't for this site!! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!!
  10. haha, I just realized you already had your wedding? How did you like the resort?
  11. I also just booked my wedding with the RPRM!! I am so excited, yet our wedding isn't until Dec. 2014. How many guests are you having and which package are you choosing? We can't decide which one to do for our guest list of 40. I wonder if the complimentary package ceremony decor includes an arch or anything... all of these questions! I'll keep you posted of any new and interesting things I learn about this place!
  12. Hi everyone, I have recently booked the RIU Palace RM site for my Dec. 2014 wedding! I am so excited to finally have my place reserved and figured out! I was wondering if any RIU Palace RM brides have decided to go with the Complimentary wedding package and do add-ons from there. My fiance and I are on a tight budget since we are also hosting a reception after the weddingmoon and would really like some advice on which package to go with. If there are any brides that have done the complimentary package, could you please post pics or describe the decor they provide for you, ect. Also, did any of the brides have problems reserving dinner reservations for large groups? We are inviting 42 guests and would love to have a welcome dinner, rehearsal dinner, and good-bye brunch for our guests. One last question, did anyone take their guests on an excursion? And if so, what were the average costs for these excursions! Thank you all for all of your help!!
