Hello all! My wedding is fast approaching and I am trying to finish putting all the little details together. I have a question for those who have already had their wedding at Paradisus Punta Cana. Did you have music at the cocktail hour after the ceremony? I am using the audio system for the ceremony but they will charge me to use it for the cocktail hour. I am not sure if I want to spend the money on it (trying to stay in budget) and I dont think I want the domincan trio either. Has anyone gone without music during the cocktail hour? If so, is it really noticable or did you not think it made a difference? Also, has anyone had an event in the Romance Foyer? I am having my rehearsal dinner there. My planner suggested that I use fans? Any advice from those who have had a dinner there? Thank you!

I reached out to Hard Rock for a quote and the response time from the department was not good at all. I heard they were going through construction at that time so i'm not sure if maybe that played a part in the lack of responsiveness but that helped with my decision to choose Paradisus. Bianca, Lara and Beryl at Paradisus have been great to work with, they answer all my questions and requests within a timely fashion and they never act like I am asking too much (even when I am sending multiple emails a week regarding details). I am confident that my wedding on Jan 18th is going to be wonderful and I am so excited!!

Thank you for the advice! If it isn't worth it for the premium bar i'm definitely not going with it, it's so expensive to upgrade! I can't wait to hear about your wedding Tisha!! Also, I know it would be a lot to bring water bottles on the plane with me for my guests, but i'm wondering if I could get them once I arrive and just put my custom label on it? Anyone have experience with this? I'm starting to realize I still have a lot of details to plan and i'm freaking out!

Just thought of something else, what is every doing for favors/welcome gifts? I was thinking of getting labels made to put on water bottles and had some other cute ideas but am not sure as whatever I choose to do I will have to bring on the plane with me! Any ideas? Thanks!

Thank you for letting me know! Even with the premium open bar, I dont even recognize some of the liquors so I just don't think it's worth it. Also, Bianca is my planner and I asked her if you could get premium alcohol at any of the bars in the resort and she said yes so if that's the case I don't think it makes sense to upgrade when the premium alcohol is available at other bars. It just costs so much money and there are other things I would rather spend the money on that I wasn't expecting.

Hmm that is interesting, I see that is says an open bar is included, but it doesn't say premium bar. I will ask my planner and see what she says but so far she has told me we would have to upgrade. Since everything seems to cost extra I am trying to be careful of what upgrades I do since I have a budget to stay within! Thank you for your input, I appreciate it!

Hello everyone! I am debating whether to upgrade our rehearsal dinner and reception to premium alcohol, but am unsure if it is worth the cost. Can I have any previous bride's input on this? I was told by my wedding planner that you can get premium alcohol at any of the bars in the resort, I want to make sure this is true because if so I don't think it's worth it to upgrade for the reception. The problem is though that I can't find pictures of these venues to be able to compare them and choose. Can anyone direct me to where I can find pictures, or does anyone have pics that they can post? Hey everyone! I'm so glad I found this site as I am getting married at Paradisus in Punta Cana on Jan 18th 2014! My planner said the romance foyer, convention terrace and ballroom are available...I'm having my reception in the ballroom so I'm interested in comparing the other two locations.
