  1. Hi @@AshBerry, Our wedding went wonderfully! I was very happy with how everything turned out. I got married at Hacienda Cocina y Cantina at the Hacienda Beach Club and we stayed at Pueblo Bonito Blanco. I've stayed at Casa Dorada before and it was really pretty, but I'm not quite sure how the weddings work. One thing I liked about Hacienda over Casa Dorada when researching is that Hacienda has a private beach and Casa Dorada does not. This keeps the vendors away and there is not as many people walking by. I don't remember if I had emailed Cabo Villas or not. I deleted all my emails. Sorry! Let me know if you need anything else.
  2. @@cassie06 Thanks! Yeah. Here is his info. Art Productions & Entertainment Arturo Ortiz www.artproductionscabo.com tels. (624) 1421496 cell. (624) 1761443 E-mail: arturoortiz63@hotmail.com Los Cabos, BCS, CP 23400, Mexico
  3. @@AmorDeMiVida Congrats on getting engaged! The Riu looks like very pretty for a wedding! Yes, Gilda was the most reasonably priced photographer out of the ones that I contacted. For hair/makeup I personally wanted to do a trial just so that I could figure out what hairstyle I wanted to do (I was between 2). Also, it made me feel more at ease knowing exactly how my hair was going to look before the day of the wedding.
  4. @@calgarybride2015 Thank you! Haha yeah we both get asked that question all the time. Since I'm super short he looks even taller than he is. He is 6'2" and I'm 4'11".
  5. After I typed the whole thing, I pushed "post" and it had deleted almost all of it. So let's try this again.... Wedding Coordinator: Illeana Reyes from Romantic Cabo Weddings- A+ I first read about Illeana on these forums and was so happy I took the advice from the other brides to use her. She is super friendly and is very fast responding to my emails. We went to Cabo several months before the wedding to see the venue and she picked us up from our hotel and took us to the see the venue, for the food tasting, and to meet a vendor. The week of the wedding she was amazing! She picked us up from our hotel and took us to the venue to discuss the details, went to our dinner rehearsal to make sure everything was going smoothly, and then planned a time for the wedding rehearsal. Illeana really became more like a friend than a wedding planner. I definitely recommend her to any bride! Flowers: Sergio from Flowers and Events Los Cabos- A+ Sergio was recommended from Illeana. We got the bouquets, table decorations, flowers for the cake, and the chuppah from him. I was able to meet him months before the wedding and showed him pictures of what I wanted. I was a little nervous because he wasn’t very fast at responding to my emails, but Illeana reassured me he would be great. The day of the wedding I was so happy to see how beautiful the bouquets and reception tables had turned out. They were way better than I had expected! Photographer: Gilda Badillo - A Gilda was also recommended to me by Illeana. She was very friendly and I loved how the pictures turned out. She was also much cheaper than several of the other photographers I contacted. The reason she gets an A is because it took quite awhile to see my pictures. After my wedding she went out of town for 3 weeks then the hurricane hit (which I know was not her fault) but I wasn’t able to see my pictures for several months after the wedding. It was very hard to be patient for that long. Officant: Marco Arechiga- A+ Marco was very responsive to my emails and very friendly. He allowed us to change the ceremony to say whatever we wanted it to say. He was super funny at the wedding, getting many compliments from the guests about him. DJ: Art Ortiz- A He was recommended by Illeana and was very good. He was good at responding to my emails and he played exactly the songs we had requested. The only reason he gets an A instead of an A+ is because right before I started to walk down the aisle the song switched to another song. He did quickly change it back. I’m just glad it didn’t happen as I was walking down the aisle. Hair/Makeup: Alma Vallejo- A I found Alma on these forums and was very happy with her service. Alma does the makeup and her assistant does the hair. The day of the trial/dinner rehearsal she came to my hotel and even changed my hairstyle so that everyone wouldn’t see what my hair was going to look like. The day of the wedding, my bridesmaids and I got several compliments on our hair/makeup. The only reason I gave an A is because the assistant did my hair way curlier than I wanted it. It actually turned out okay because it was humid that day so it died a little once I went outside. I definitely recommend Alma and her assistant! 6. I decided to write a review of my wedding vendors because it was super helpful to read other brides' experiences when I was planning my own wedding. Hopefully this is helpful to you. I got married at Hacienda Cocina y Cantina on Saturday, July 12, 2014 Venue: Hacienda Cocina y Cantina: This is the restaurant in front of the Hacienda Beach Club & Residences. The venue is beautiful and the views are great! Another reason I loved this venue is because you don't have to book any rooms here. Several of the others hotels I found that you had to book so many all-inclusive rooms to have your wedding there. Even though I didn't interact with Susanna (the venue coordinator) too much, she was very responsive to the emails I sent her and was very friendly the few times I met her in person. The food was really good! (This is actually one of my favorite restaurants to visit when we are visiting Cabo). Flowers:
  7. @@jazzzy23 Hi! Sorry it took so long for me to respond. I haven't been on here in awhile. I used Sergio from "Flowers and Events". He was reasonably priced and the flowers turned out much better than I thought they were going to. I loved them! He made everything exactly like the pictures I had shown him. He isn't very quick to responding to emails, but my wedding coordinator would get in contact with him if I didn't hear back from him.
  8. @@susie q Our wedding turned out perfect! HCC is such a beautiful place to get married! Our guests kept commenting on how gorgeous the venue was! The service was great and we got many compliments on the food. I definitely recommend all my vendors too! Let me know if you need any recommendations. I haven't gotten the professional pics back yet, but here are a few pics that my relatives took: https://www.flickr.com/photos/125558902@N06/sets/72157645698860900/
  9. Hi! I'm not sure if you have emailed Illeana Reyes from Romantic Cabo Weddings yet or if she even does day of wedding coordination, but I'm using her for my upcoming wedding. She has been great so far! She responds quickly to emails. Also, I met her during my last trip to Cabo and she is super nice!
  10. We are doing ours at a "Romeo y Julieta" restaurant. It's an Italian restaurant (we thought people might want a break from Mexican food) in downtown. The restaurant is really cute and the food is really good! They have several packages to choose from. We chose the cheapest package which included Caesar salad, lasagna, and dessert for $19/person. We are also going to make sure someone orders a Mexican coffee. The "show" when they make the drink is really neat!
  11. Carah2520, I had the same question as you when I was first thinking about Cabo. I had no idea how much money I was going to expect to pay. I'm getting married at Hacienda Cocina y Cantina on Medano Beach in July and we will end spending about $9,000 for 30 guests for everything except our transportation to Cabo. This includes wedding coordinator, flowers, venue for ceremony and reception, food, alcohol, hair/makeup, photography, officiant, decor for ceremony and reception, and DJ. Hope this helps! Heather
  12. We are having ours at Romeo y Julieta in downtown Cabo. It is an Italian restaurant (I know...crazy to be having Italian food in Mexico), but the food is good, the inside of the restaurant is really cute, and the prices are reasonable. We also thought that everyone is probably going to be eating Mexican food for every other meal so why not Italian one night? We are also having everyone that is attending the wedding to attend the rehearsal so we wanted something rather cheap. They have several different options on their group menu; we are going to do Caesar salad, lasagna, and dessert for $19/person. Also, you will have a really cool fire show at your table if you order their Mexican hot chocolate.
  13. Even though I haven't had my wedding yet, I'm going to use Sergio as my florist. My wedding coordinator has worked with him for several weddings and his prices were definitely reasonable! I met him in Cabo the last time I was visiting and he is super nice. I showed him pictures of what I wanted, and he emailed me showing me pictures of the exact flowers he was going to use and what colors. He also has candles, vases, a huppah, and a white sheet for the huppah, which is nice so you don't have to bring all that stuff if you don't want to. Hope this helps!
  14. Hi J0hanna! HCC does have buffet menus for more money, but the $36/person family style is where they place all the stuff to make tacos on the table and the guests make their own tacos. There are site fees for having the ceremony on Medano Beach. The venue fee (which I'm not sure is just the ceremony or both the ceremony/reception) is $295, and then a set up fee of $150. If you want to PM me your email address, I can send you the menus. Hope this helps!
  15. Hi! Thanks both of you for responding! It looks like we are going to end up spending about 10k instead of 5k. It is cheaper than what we would have spent back home though because having it in Cabo cuts down on the guests attending. We're going to have our wedding at the restaurant Hacienda Cocina y Cantina which has an option of doing family style for $36/person. It includes appetizer, salad, tacos, and dessert. My photographer is going to be Gilda Badillo which has nice pictures for a decent price. I had not found a DJ yet, so I will definitely look into DJ Fradal. Thanks and good luck to you girls in your planning!
