  1. Hi Ladies, I seem to be so manic at the moment im not getting time to get on here very often so when i do i have so much to catch up on! Sounds like everyones planning is going well. I still have 8 months but time seems to be flying by. We now have 20 of us going and hopefully another 9 to book on. We have booked portafino for dinner and 6.30pm is a bit early but we look forward the party at las rocas after- some of you say you have this booked for 3 hours- how much is this as we have only been offered 2 hours a $5 a head? I really need to get on with some planning, i feel like i done so much in the beggining and have now fallen into a state of doing nothing. My task over the next few weeks is to nail down a phoptographer, I did mention last time i was on about the resort one but no one seems to come back with great reviews so need to look outside. Does anyone have the price list for blue caribe packages? Heather lynn- have you looked into having boutineers made up at home and taking them with you? we are doing this so that they can be reused for our party when we arrive back home. We are taking all our items, dresses and accessories etc on as hand luggage in boxes from this company http://www.lifememoriesbox.co.uk/travel-wedding-dress-boxes-8-c.asp (the fact they say my wedding dress etc, can always help with upgrades too! ) Becci
  2. Hi Girls, Im having a bit of an issue photography wise. All along i hoped one of our guests (a photographer) would do our photos for us, but as its been over a year since he did his last wedding he doesnt want the pressure of doing a friends photos so now we have to find one! Vanessa has sent me the details for the on site photographer, has anyone on here booked with them or used them before? I see you used them for your video Chrestena and I would really like one done too, so working out if its best to go for the package or to get another photographer as they dont have much example wise on their website sorry i cant help with meal info, we only have about 20 guests coming with us from the UK so will be opting for the meal in the portafino, included in our package price. thanks for your help girls Becci
  3. Hi ladies Claire- Thanks so much for your emails. Unable to see any photos of the flowers though? Its so helpful to see the menus and im sure there is something there everyone will eat even if we have to ask for something to be plain! We are getting back on a tuesday morning and I wanted one weekend at home and then our party is the following saturday. Giving me time to have our dresses/ outfits dry cleaned before the party- I cant wait for the opportunity to wear it twice! We have hired a barn and are having an evening reception complete with band, dj and Hog roast for our 240 guests- one of the reasons the main wedding is in Mexico! This brings me onto the trash you dress photoshoots- I love all the pictures i have seen of this but as i want to wear my dress again will it really trash it? If so im thinking of buying a second dress cheap off ebay just to wear to do something like this. any advice would be great. Jengullage- I have just seen what you said about the terrace and not having enough guests to have it privately. I was hoping to this myself and it looks like we will have about the same amount of guests as yourselves. I really wanted the Portofino for that reason, I have seen photos of someones wedding there before and they had it to themselves and im sure they only had about 23 guests. Maybe it depends on how busy the resort is? Thanks everyone
  4. Hi Claire, Thanks for the reply, I've been mental busy planning all things for our party back here this week as I feel like i'm at a standstill until i get our date through Thomsons for Mexico. We've paid £150 deposit for the wedding and hopefully i only have a couple of weeks until we are confirmed now anyway I think we are definately set on going to the portofino, so if you could send those menus through it would be amazing! becci_0902@hotmail.com. if you can find the flower details that would be such a great help too. I was getting the impression we maybe do things a little differently in the UK so knowing you have booked the cocktail hour for after the meal is great. I would feel strange doing our first dance before. Is that still at the $5 per head the cocktail hour? can you make it longer than the one hour? Thanks Becci
  5. Hi everyone, Im new to the thread but after a few days of reading through all your posts and looking at the your pictures i must say im now even more excited for my wedding in feb 2014 at GP! We are coming from the UK and everything here from the TA seems to be so slow. We are still in our approximate 8 week wait to find out if we can have our chosen date for our wedding even though myself and a party of 15 are booked for our two week stay. Did anyone else have this? Whilst I'm waiting I have 101 questions and i'm getting very anxious having to wait until we are put in contact with our wedding co-ordinator, which by the way everyone ravs about her im hoping we get Vanessa! From reading through everyone's posts i think because we are a smaller group we are going to opt for a meal at the Portofino restaurant, some of the pictures from meals there look amazing, you would never know its only semi-private. The only thing im a little worried about is menu choices (I have some very fussy eaters on my family side!) does anyone have a copy of menu choices? Does everyone have to have the same off a set menu? In regards to the decoration of table etc in the restaurant, is this an extra charge or does this come as part of the package? Im unsure what we want to do after the meal, i have read alot about the cocktail hour that alot of you seem to book. Can anyone give me some more info on these? where they take place, are they private etc? Im just wondering if this is where we can have our first dance In other hotel packages I have seen that the groom is given a room for the night before the wedding and to get ready in. Is this something that the GP do, as I have yet to see anyone mention anything of this? One more thing for now! As we are having a party back in the UK when we return,I am hoping to have the groomsmen and Bridesmaids, buttonholes and corsages made from artificial flowers before we come so they can be used at both the wedding and the party. So that my bouquet and my Fiancees buttonhole match as closely as possible does anyone have any info on what flowers are available through the crystal package? Look forward to hearing from you all Becci
