Question for you ladies.. I feel like this is going to sound really dumb, but, I am waiting to hear from the wedding planners to confirm that the judge will be available on our date we have selected to make sure we can have a civil wedding. I am also seeing posts about pastor Rick marrying people... what is the difference in the two people? Do we need a confirmation from the judge and then have to get a pastor to marry us? Just trying to figure it out If anyone could answer this that would be fantastic! Thank you!

Thank you Chrystine888, I appreciate it! I just got all of the information back today from the wedding planner. How far in advance did you get your save the dates out? Also, how far in advance did you book your trip and did you use a travel agent?? Thank you again for your help!

Hey ladies, I just recently got engaged and we are looking at the Elegance, we will be vacationing there in April for 5 days to check everything out. I have been in touch with one of the their wedding planners about choosing a date. She just let me know a date we want was available, however the judge won't be putting out his schedule until March or April. Our goal is to get everything going to give all of our guests a big enough heads up to save up the money for the trip. I am just worried that if we wait the month or two for the judge to respond, that if he says no... we won't be able to get a date in April 2014 like we had wanted. I gave the wedding planner my info so we have a reserved date as of now, but what happens if the judge falls through, has this happened to anyone? I would appreciate anyone's response, thank you so much girls! Krystina

Hey ladies, I just got engaged last week and my fiancé and I have always talked about having a destination wedding... I know it is still really fresh, however, I want to start my research because I want at least a years notice for all of our friends and family. We sat down and figured out we are going to easily have 50 people who will be able to join us on our special day. I started checking out all of the hotels and a lot of them have small group packages... I have noticed that some of them say you can pay extra per person but I feel their details are confusing. We know we want a private dinner as well as a reception where everyone can dance and have a good time. If anyone has any advice or suggestions I would greatly appreciate it!!! Thank you so much

My fiancé and I have always discussed a destination wedding seeing as how he is from the East Coast and I am from the West Coast... we decided it would only be fair for everyone to travel to a beautiful island to see us say, "I do". I know it is still really new for me but because we want to do destination wedding, I don't want to wait too long to find a place to give all of our guests enough time to save up. I have a large family that is going to want to be at the wedding along with all of our fiends... will easily put us over 50 people. I am seeing a lot of the packages for 10-30 people, and was wondering if any of you have either had a wedding with a large party or are also planning a wedding with a large party. We would like the private dinner and reception service after the fact. Do I just need to contact the hotels to get this kind of information??
