I am getting married at Azul Fives in January of 2013! I also have had some trouble finding other blogs/brides discussing this resort. LEt me know if you have any helpful hints!

Hi All! So i have been shopping around for about a month now, I have had an extremely difficult time with my wedding planner from desitnationweddings.com. My FI and I are now leaning towards just booking our own wedding at DRC. We are expecting a minimum of 100 guests. Were any of you able to negotiate better deals from the resort in terms of pricing for reception, or maybe get a free cocktail hour thrown in?!

I was thinking the gazebo would be a great option, however we are expecting 100 guests and my wedding planner informed me that with a party that size the only option for a ceremony location is the beach. Our ceremony would take place at 4pm and I am hoping that things will be dying down on the beach by then. Also my wedding planner informed me that they will have personnel from the hotel on the beach to try and insure that people are not walking by during the ceremony, however since its a public beach I doubt this is really achievable. I think we will just have to wing it and see what happens! For those of you that got married on the beach did you find that it was just completely too chaotic and crowded or did the hotel do a decent job of securing the ceremony site to the best of their ability?

Thank you So much for the tip! My fiance and I have our hearts set on a beach wedding but we are worried that there will be tons of people walking back and forth during our ceremony. Do any of you have an experience or advice regarding the beach wedding and privacy issues ? I guess we just don't want people selling necklaces and kids on surf boards in the ocean for the backdrop of our ceremony photos. Thanks for the tips!

Also I am really worried that there are going to be multiple weddings and receptions going on at the resort the same day as mine. I don't mind that there will be other weddings taking place but I want to make sure that my reception and cermony are semi private. Did the resort do a decent job of keeping the different bridal groups separate on the day of the ceremony and wedding? Also does anyone have pictures of some of the ceremony and reception spots?!

I just discovered the Barcelo Bavaro. I have been having a really hard time with my wedding planner at destintionweddings.com and I feel like they are trying to force my fiance and I into a resort that does not fit our needs. Did any of you work with a different wedding coordinator or company? Did you plan your wedding with the Bavaro Independently?

Is there a Trash the Dress photographer you would recommend?
