  1. Hi Lana! So our timeline so far - on Saturday, we're going to do welcome drinks at one of the bars, Sunday rehearsal dinner at the Mediterranean restaurant, then bonfire on the beach Sunday night with the sky lanterns, etc. Monday, we'll start the ceremony at 5:30, right now, I have a private dinner planned at Calabash for 6:30pm, then we have the DJ (Kevan Stewart) until 10:30pm, then we'll head to the Disco to party till we pass out. LOL Tuesday, we're planning a Recovery Brunch in the morning, then my FI and I are getting picked up by our photographer to head to Negril for our TTD photo session then we'll meet our group at Rick's Café then head back to the resort... Whew, I'm already tired thinking about it. You should come by my events so you can see how everything is set up, since you'll be there! I really have to do the reception part inside, it's going to be sooo hot outside and looking at some videos of folks who did theirs at Aunt Ruby's all I see is people sweating through their clothes.... so I didn't think that was a good idea! Oh and when you join the FB group, there are two of them, make sure you join the "sisterhood of the traveling starfish" one - that one has been the most useful to me!
  2. Hi Lana! We arrive on the 26th and are staying through to the 7th, so looks like we'll be there the entire time together! Are you on the FB group for the brides? There's a closed group on there that is great with getting answers to things too. My travel agent has spoken to them and I know we're confirmed, but my TA just told me to call them instead of emailing, and I'd probably catch them faster. How many people do you have coming down? We have 55, the only (main) question I have had was about Calabash, I have multiple documents that all have different minimums for the amount of people that need to be there so I'm not sure if they'll approve us to go there since the last dated document I have says a minimum of 70. I hope they let us, Calabash is what I indicated on my last wedding details sheet, so fingers crossed! Yay! Time is flying by!!!!! Joanna
  3. Lana I'm getting married on the 1st at the Suites, yay! Have you gotten your final details sheet from Nicole or Tiffany yet???? I haven't, so just wondering if any one else has who is about a month out.
  4. Hi everyone, I'm getting married at the IRHS next July and have been researching ideas for guest gifts. I saw on trip advisor a photo someone posted of a really cute canvas hand painted art work of a beach scene and the bride and groom names painted in the bottom corner. (shown below) I reached out to the bride and she told me she was staying at the Jewel Runaway Bay resort and one of the vendors outside of the resort did them. Has anyone seen anything like this or know of a vendor who draws Jamaican prints? I thought this would be really cute for my guests to have and I want to be sure to find someone to do them in plenty of time. Thanks so much for any feedback!
  5. Hi Everyone! I'm new to the site, getting married a the IRHS next July and I found a very cute hand painted canvas print that I wanted to give to all of my guests. I found this from TripAdvisor and spoke to the person who had it done, she said it was from a Jewel Resort and it was a beach vendor outside. Have any of you come across a vendor like this in Rose Hall or have any contacts of a local (Jamaican) artist that might do something like this in bulk at a reasonable price? The woman I spoke to said there were many vendors who do this relatively inexpensive there but I don't think I'll be heading there prior to the wedding and wanted to order them in advance so they're ready in time. The attachment below is what I'm looking for. Thanks for any feedback! Wedding Favors Paintings.pdf
