  1. Hi Els77, my fiance and I are getting married at El Convento in 5 weeks! Our reception is in Salon Campeche, but if I remember I can try to stop into Salon Martorell and take some pics.
  2. Hi Mufin. We are using Noel Del Pilar for our wedding in October. I'm not sure what his rates are for a trash the dress session, but we worked with him for our engagement pics and they turned out great!
  3. Hi Mariluz, congrats! Sure, I don't mind helping you with the vendors. Decor/Flowers we are using Festivo, Cake is C+M Cakes, DJ is DJ Rockhand, Photographer is Noel Del Pilar, Videographer is NDF Films, Officiant is Cory Casterton, ceremony music is Pancho Irizarry. We actually haven't decided on makeup yet, but the ones we're looking into is Caridad Vidro or Epy Joel. We are waiting for a guest count before we book a shuttle service, but it will most likely be Keniann Transportation. Hope that helps!
  4. We researched getting married at the San Juan Cathedral and you have to schedule an interview with the priest several months in advance. I'm not sure what other requirements there are besides thats.
  5. La Concha should be a good place to host your rehearsal dinner. We are having ours at Barrachina in Old San Juan. Apparently it's a popular location for them as their website is rehearsaldinnerpr.com
  6. I've heard good things about Rosalina Torres (mentioned above) and Lisa Rodriguez. I don't have personal experience with either one as we booked most of the vendors on our own and are using the hotel's wedding coordinator for the day-of services. Best of luck planning!
  7. Hi and congrats on your upcoming wedding! My fiance and I are getting married in October in San Juan. We are expecting 75-80 guests and are getting married at El Convento. If you want a modern beach wedding, I would probably recommend La Concha. When searching for locations, we took a tour of La Concha and El San Juan. Both locations offer a nice beach resort style wedding. The lobby and hotel of La Concha is much more modern/trendy, while El San Juan is just as nice, but more of a vintage/grand style of luxury. The process can be overwhelming, i spent a lot of time on forums and book most of our vendors on our own instead of using a wedding planner. You'll need to exercise some patience as things move on island time when it comes to getting returns and responses back via email. While La Concha fits the bill for the style of wedding you're looking for, I will say it might be more expensive of a hotel than what you might want for your guests. However there are other hotels withing walking distance that are much cheaper (L'Consulat and San Juan Plaza Hotel, etc). Hope that helps. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask!
  8. Hopefully I can help a bit. We are getting married there in October. We wanted a true Old San Juan feel to the wedding, instead of a beach wedding that could be held anywhere else in the world. Because of that, we are getting married at one of the forts, San Cristobal and are having our reception at El Convento. If you want to be married at a church, I'd look at Cathedral of San Juan Bautista. Another ceremony location is El Morro. Those should good starting points if you want an Old San Juan wedding
  9. Based on The Weather Channel, March has the least rain of any month the entire year (Feb. is the 2nd least). Your chances are good We are getting married in October, higher rainfall, but typically doesn't last long if it does rain. We'll cross our fingers!
  10. Congrats! Our friends were married at the Sandals in Antigua last May and they loved the island.
  11. Hi Marina, Sorry it's taken a few days to respond back to you. Please see your other post on El Convento for my thoughts on your wedding there (sorry, i read that post first lol). We received price quotes from Festivo (who is our decorator/florist) and Party Line. We got a price quote from another vendor (I can't think of the name) but they didn't have garden chairs for the outdoor ceremony. Also, based on the size of your wedding, good choice on having it on a Friday or Sunday there.
  12. Hey there. I should be able to help since we are getting married there in October, 2013 as well(Oct. 26th). We went in September to visit the hotel and see Salon Campeche. I think we plan on having around 75 people or so. Since the hall is a bit narrow, i don't think it will look too big for the number of guests you're having. We are having the ceremony at San Cristobal. My advice is that you check with whoever will do your floral/decorations for the chairs as well. We are renting the tiffany chairs for Salon Campeche and garden chairs for San Cristobal. We have a cheaper company for just the chairs, but when you factor in the separate deliver charge for the chairs, it was cheaper overall to include the chairs with the florist/decorator. Do you have a specific date in mind in October? When we went in September, the available dates in October were booking quickly.
