  1. I have done a tasting and everything was really good. The hor derves fell a little short when it came to meat. Soup was seafood bisque really good and we did a simple mix green salad with a vinaigrette dressing. Servings we pretty large so guests will definitely be full.
  2. It is very hard to gauge head count!! But I think the hotel is flexible that way. I had Alejandro give me a price proposal for 70 people, I don't think there will be more and hoping we might have less. Lupita lounge did have some type of music starting from around 6ish... most nights it had a DJ then a band would come for an hour then maybe a sax player when no one was playing live they had music going. People did dance and it was never really busy there after dinner. It seemed like most people (including us) would go to grab a drink and app. before dinner. We have decided to add an extra hour to our reception however, I think $16pp is a bit much seeing that a rehearsal cocktail hour friday (2hrs) with passed apps in $18pp.
  3. I was going to start around 4 as well because I want it to still be light enough for photos after the ceremony. I was thinking of seeing if we could extend the cocktail hour and extra 30 min, we are having a lounge area set up in the sand and having a trio band play for 45 min. Then I was going to ask them to extend the reception for an extra hour (I'm sure and extra cost will be applies) They have the lupita lounge that stays open until midnight so I figured we could move over there if people still wanted to stay out.
  4. Hi, I'm having a wedding 11/13 I was there this past Thanksgiving and I did a tasting. We are having a sit down dinner the options are a bit limited but we were able to mix menu's. You will have a choice of a soup, salad 2 main courses for guest to pick from I did the salmon and the chicken and then a desert. I choose to do tarts instead of cake (its has a $5pp extra charge) but they do include a 10 person cake. The hotel is beautiful and Alejandro is extremely helpful but very busy so It may take him a few days to reply to emails but dont worry he's on top of everything.
  5. Hi Ladies, I am glad to have found this thread everyone seems to be so helpful in sharing information. I have a lot of time before my wedding here November 9th 2013. However, I am trying to get most things done as soon as possible. I will be visiting the hotel this Nov 2012. Working with Alejandro has been great!!! He has answered everything for me so far except for if I should use travel agent or not for room blocks. We will be having about 35-60 people and i have not heard back yet from the hotel regarding a room block discount for guests. Do any of you know if it is best to go threw the hotel or book with an agent..? and if anyone has booked a room block what is the average cost per night...?? Thanks suzanne I also have been sent price list and options for flowers/gazebo if anyone need it.
