Reign...I am also doing the symbolic, my best friend did the same thing...she had a very intimate ceremony for just her and her husband and didn't even tell anyone, she said she wasn't on board with it at first, but she's glad she did it that way because it was a moment they shared, and it took a lot of pressure off when they did it in front of everyone else and they were more relaxed, but also that it didn't take anything away from the day they did it in front of their friends and family! Just thought that might make you feel a little better about it! Happy Planning
  2. Ladieessss!!! I am hoping someone can help! I have been reading the thread here for a while, but haven't said much because my wedding is still not until September and I have been trying to just observe and learn My save the dates have gone out, and as I have been talking to a lot of people, we have been getting a lot of positive feedback about them coming, much much more than I thought would come! I have reserved the beachside gazebo for our ceremony...in looking at pictures...it looks like they can hold several people there, and I asked Marlene and she said that they can fit up to 150... I just want to make sure that it is comfortable seating and that people won't have trouble seeing us!! Has anyone had their ceremony here that would like to give me some feedback? Possibly looking between 80 and 100...I just want to be able to change it to the beach sooner than later if it is going to be trouble for people to see us in the gazebo! Thank you all so much and thank you for your wonderfull reviews and photossss, I get even more excited with each one I see!!!
  3. Great pics Samsbride, and thank you for sharing... I just got confirmation from Marlene for Sept 21, 2013...couldn't be more excited!!!!!! I know people are having a hard time with Susana replying to emails, but Marlene seems to be getting back to me quite promptly lately. Anyone have suggestions on how far in advance to send out save the dates/invitations? I was hoping to have save the dates out by Sept...but I dont know if that is too early or late?
  4. So...I was told that to reserve the date for my wedding I have to send the reservation page via mail to them...this seems a little bit efficient to me, how long did it take everyone to get confirmation on their dates after they mailed it?! Thanks so much ladies!
  5. JG...The date I want is for next September....have you, or are you worried at all about weather situation? I have been trying to research, and I guess there isn't much you can do about it, I just haven't spoken to anyone else who has had their wedding there in Sept also yet...   7. hi ladies!! recently decided that I want to have my wedding at this amazing resort! I was originally looking into dreams, but the rates seemed to be more affordable here and I got recommendation from my TA... I am trying to reserve my day there but not exactly sure where to start, I have emailed, but like many, I don't get replies right away, she sent me the reservation form, but I don't know if anything else is required to try to save the day... down payment? do our rooms or stay need to be booked? or do i just submit that form and wait for them to get back to me? all of your recent pictures look amazing! Hoping someone can help me out!!
  8. Hi Ladies!!! Firstly, congrats to everyone! This is such an exciting time and I am loving reading everyone's experiences!! It also helps to know I am not the only one stressed about figuring out what to do! I am pretty sure we are going to choose DPB for our wedding, and my ideal date is Sept 21, 2013...my only concern is weather...I know it will be beautiful there no matter what, I just get nervous... Anyone have any experience with September weddings? I also have talked to a family friend that is a TA, but after all of these stories I am wondering if I should go with Patty too! I definitely want this trip to be affordable as possible for all my guests!

  10. Very newly engaged, and we are pretty much decided that we are going to do a destination wedding next year sometime!!!!! Anyone have any suggestions on places or time of year? I am trying to keep it semi-affordable for guests. We have very briefly looked at Costa Rica, Dominican and Jamaica...there's just so many I already feel overwhelmed!!!
