  1. I was in the same situation. We got married in Costa Rica in March and by the time we got married we were on our 5th wedding coordinator. Everyone kept telling me "everything will work out." "everything will be fine" in some ways they were right but in a lot of ways they were wrong. Things went so differently then i had thought and hoped. There was no flow, no organization of events. I spent my night wondering if my guests were bored and trying to hunt down my wedding coordinator. I had to press play on my own iPod for my own first dance song. I wanted more than anything to cancel getting married there and just do it at home. but we couldn't. the only thing i can tell you is try to find the moments with your partner that you won't be able to forget. focus on making your vows deep and personal and making sure you take the time to listen to his and take it all in. the chances are it won't work out the way you want it to and you will be disappointed with some things. But if you can get yourself invested on why you're getting married in the first place then IF things do fall into place it will be an added bonus. I'm so disappointed in what happened with mine i still dream about it. BUT i love my husband and in ten years from now we can do it again the way i want it, in a place where i live....
  2. Hi all, I've joined this site to let you know how worth it, it is, to get the RIGHT photographers. I know we all look at ways to cut budgets but this is one you need to make sure you don't "settle" for. My now husband and I got married in Costa Rica and although we thought it was going to be the wedding of our dreams we got an entirely different event. It was so stressful and unorganized and ultimately they made up their own decisions about my wedding anyways. I'm so glad i went with a photographer we knew would deliver. Divine Light did our engagement session and we loved them so much we decided we had to take them to costa rica with us. THANK GOD we did! there was no time line or flow for anything. I spent the whole time wondering "whats next" like should we do our first dance now? Brian from Divine light was able to capture the romance in what at the time seemed only like chaos. I would really advise against doing a destination wedding unless you really don't feel the need to have anything specific planned at all. Regardless our pictures turned out beautiful ( we've only gotten some prints so far the rest will be ready in 11 days). and Ultimatley the pictures are what will last forever so thank god, we got that part right. 3. My now husband and I decided to go off the traditional wedding grid and say our "I DOs" in Costa Rica. This turned out to be one of the most challenging things we've ever done. To this day one of the most comforting decisions we could have made was making Divine Light our photographers. With all the chaos and lack of planning and time line I know at least for the rest of time we'll have these beautiful images to reflect on. He managed to capture the romance in a sea of disorganization. For that I am eternally grateful. This is just a sneak peek we'll have more pictures in 11 days
