  1. I found the seller on Ebay (gasp!). Her name is Vivian and she is in China--but she was good at communicating with me via email considering the time difference and language difference. Her email address is: [email protected] Good Luck!
  2. Hi! I tried on a couple dresses that were similar (loosely similar) LOL. I just went for it. It was the shape that I wanted and so I took a chance!
  3. To Skygirl: I must be missing something obvious---but I don't think my REPLY button is working or something. But--this is to your question above. I received my dress and I had sent the maker my measurements. After reading the forum, I was worried the dress may run small. To combat this I requested a corset back instead of a zipper...and I measured my height with my 5 inch heels. That way if it was off slightly I could adjust with the corset and change out the height of my heels. The fit of the dress seems pretty spot on. It is a bit too long though (which is WAY better than too short). In all...my alterations will be: Minor at the bust Adjust length Bustle I haven't received a quote for this but I'm guessing a couple hundred. However, even if I'd purchased a dress from a store, chances are I'd at least have those alterations needed anyway. So the fact that my dress was less that $200 totally helps. I never found anything in the stores even for $1000 that I like as much as I love my replica dress.
  4. I ordered via Ebay. The seller's name is Vivian. Her email address is: [email protected]. She is in China and sometimes her English wasn't great...but it wasn't difficult to communicate and she was good to work with. (relatively quick response considering the time differences). It took about 45 days from the time I ordered the dress to when I received it. And that was because I requested changes to it---and then there was a 2 week period when they weren't working due to a Chinese Holiday. Hope that helps! Amie
  5. Hi Everyone~ I just wanted to update that I received my dress. I am very happy with it! It's not exactly like the original, but it's close enough for me...and I did request some changes to be made from the earlier photos. (new neckline, etc). Here is the Inspiration Dress (Hillary Duff) and my dress. Please note that I could not lace up the corset myself so it isn't fitted will in my photo and looks crooked. Also--I'm sorry it's sideways, I'm not sure how to change the orientation of it. Crappy cell phone pic too---but I was too excited!! Also---it came in a tiny shipping bag...so it's a bit wrinkled. (Although not as wrinkled as you would expect). The Vera Wang version is $6500. Mine was less than $200.

  10. So I have gone through every single page of this forum...yes...it took a while. I fell in love with Vera Wang's Gemma and she was way beyond my budget---no hope. So I ordered a replica off ebay. Seller has great feedback---100% positive. Seller was quite responsive to my questions...and I ordered a custom sized Gemma replica. The one I bought from ebay was about $170 including shipping. (insert GASP here). I know...I know!! I was totally ok with losing all of the money and having to buy another dress. In fact....I had prepared myself for the odds of having a hot mess show up at my door and having to start the search again and accepted that prior to buying it. However....I just received my photos from the seller and I am very happy. For the price, I think I got very very close to the look of the $6,500 gown. She even replicated the "Blizzard Beading". I don't have the dress itself yet...so I will write a full review when I can try it on. But I am VERY happy with the initial photos. I have asked her to make it slightly sweetheart on the neckline, but below are the photos she sent. I don't like the sash she tied on. I'm going to remove that and buy a sparkley one from Etsy. Also---I requested a lace up back so I could tighten it to nip in my waist a bit and thought this would give me flexibility on the fit since it was made to my measurements. But I have heard that sometimes they end up tight. The seller's name is Vivian and she was in China so you have a few minor language issues...but she was very responsive on email.
